THIS valuable preparation combines all the medicinal virtues of those articles, which long experience has proved to possess the most sa.e and efficient alterative and deobst cuent properties, for the core of Scrofula King s Evil, IV kite Swell ings Ulcers; Scrofulous, Cancerous and Judo enl Tumours; Mercurial and Syphilitic Affections, Rheumatism, (lout, Scurvey. iStura gia or J tc- Douloureux, Cancer, Goitre or Bronchocele. •swelled Neck,] Enlargements of the Bouts, Joints, Glands or Ligaments or oft he Spleen. Dropsical Swellings , Const it ulioWl Disorders and diseases originaiing from a depraved or Impure ■late of the Blood or other fluids of the body. The proprietor of ibis Alterative would most re spectfully assure the public that he has not offered this preparation to their notice w ithout due reflec tion, and close and ri*rid study, nor until as twelve years’experience had manifested its yreaJ superiwrity over every other article of the kui< . and he now recommends it w ith confident e,‘ - believing that the above combination of me.liciue will effectually eradicate from the s>s it , • of disease some of which have heretofore been con sidered incurable. . He has prescribed it in almost every variety of disease and with unparalleled success, especially in cutaneous affections cancerous, scrofulous and scorbutic diseases, and diseases originating from « obstruction or enlargement of the glands or impuri ty of the blood. Cancer ami Cancerous Tumors. He has used this preparation in upwards of twen ty we I defined cases of cancer and cancerous tu mors, ami in every case but one with perfect and entire success. Hronchocele or Goitre, (Swelled Neck.) He has prescribed it in over a hundred cases of goitre, and it has never failed in a single instance to completely remove the disease. Not a solitary rase of failure. All were cured. The success he has met with in curing bronrho celc and cancerous affections has convinced him that these dangerous and horrible diseases may be removed with as much certainty as Fever and Ague. He. does not wish to he understood as say ing that they can be cured as soon as Fever and Ague, but with as much certainty; and further, that h”has good reason for believing that this prepara tion will not only < nre these diseases when formed, hut that it destroys the virus or poisonous principle lurking in the system, from which that peculiar class of diseases, as well as that of scrofula emanate. Scrofula—King’s Evil. This preparation has been used in numerous cases of Scrofula, King’s Evil, and scrofulous swellings, and always with the most deci ed success. Skin Diseases. He has prescribed it in a great variety of cutane ous affections, and found it successful in curing salt rheum, or tetter, biles, blotches, pimples, morphew and jaundiced skin, &c. Dyspepsia and Liver Complaint. It has been used in numerous cases ofliver com plaint and Dyspepsia, and with the happiest effect. Tic-Douloureux. It has been used in several cases of Neuralgia, aud in every case it was successful. Rheumatism. preparation has been prescribed in a great many*cases of chronic rheumaism, and in every casein which it was used until the. system became affected by the medicine, the disease was removed 1 Gout. A number of cases of gout have been cured by this preparation, in one of these cases, the man had been afflicted with it so severely for thirteen years as to entirely disable him from business, and for five months immediately previous to his taking the Alterative he had been confined to his room; but before lie had finished the third bottle, he was enabled to walk about the streets and soon alter re turned to his business, from which he had so long been excluded by his afflictions. Dropsical Swellings, This medicine increases the powers of digestion, excites the absorbents into healthy exercise, by which watery or calcareous depositions, and all unnatural enlargements are reduced, it imparts tone and vitality to the whole system, removing sick and morbid headaches, giddiness, wardering pains and nervous affections. In fact, in every case where the medicine has been taken for some time, no matter for wh t pur pose, the general health of the patient has always been improved oy it. in conclusion, the proprietor would say that some of the must astonishing cases of skin diseases, can cer, hronchocele, and scrofula, have been ( tired by this medicine, that have ever been recorded; but want of room in this sheet precludes their publica tion at this lime. CANCER. An interesting case cured by Jayne’s Alterative. In the spring of IS3I, a cancerous tumor appear ed in the right breast of Mrs. Phoebe, wife of IVier Stretch, of Salem, N. J. It wasexamined by many Physicians, and was considered byall as cancerous, and besides bore ail the characteristic marks of one. All provable means of removing il w ere used without the slightest benefit. It continued to in crease both in size and painfulness, until all hope of saving her iife, but by a painful operation, was abandoned, which, after a consultation o! eminent Physicians, was performed, Jan. Ist, 1832, by Dr. John Rhea Barton, assisted by Dr. Redman, the proprietor, and two other medical gent'emen. The whole and entire right breast was rerao""d, and af ter examination of tiie tumor, was pronounced b> ail present a cancer of the most malignant charac ter. In about three months, afterendtiring incredi ble sufferings, she was enabled, though broken in spirit, to get about again, rshe remained feeble, and her general health was exceedingly bad, as in deed it had been for several years before. In the spring of 1837, upwards of five years after her hi east had been removed, a painful turn >r made its ap pearance on the right side, immediately over the part formerly occupied by the nipple of the right breast, previous toils removal. This tumor steacli ly increased fur several months, and became so painful as to deprived her of rest. The glands un der the right arm were enlarged; and scirrhus, ami a hard, irregular, and at times painful tumour, ap peared in the left breast. No operation could now arrest the disease. Indeed her whole hodyappear ed to be a mass of disease. Her case was consid ered hopeless, She wasof a verv scrofulous habit, both her parents having died of Pulmonary con sumption. The experiment was now made with this Alterative. It was at first given in small doses, three times a day, and the doses very gradu ally, hut steadily increased daily, as long as she took it, which was about six months, and the skin over and around the tumour was wet night and morning with a strong solution of lodine and Hy driodate Potash. The tumour continued increas ing in size for about six weeks, and was at times very painful, when the pain suddenly ceased alto gether, and the tumour swelled out at the base, and | became soft and then began to diminish, and con- ) tinned gradually decreasing until every vesJigeof disease was removed. The tumour in herffeft breast, and those in her right axilla were also dis persed. No cancerous or scrofulous tumours ever appeared afterwards; and her general health, which had b* en so bad for fourteen years as to make life a burthen, was etfee ually and permanently restored. The proprietor is in possession of the diseased breast, aud those who choose may examine it. He would also say that he could mention over a dozen rases equally interesting, wherein his Alterative has subdued cancerand cancerous tumours, but he has not room hereto record them. Mrs. Sarah Young, of Quinton’s Bridge, N. J., had a goitrous tumour on the left side of her wind pipe, a> large as the half of an orange, which was cured by using this Alterative for about four months. Miss R S , South Fourth-street, Phila delphia. was also cured of an enlargement of the throat, which filled the entire space between the chin and breast-bone, aud extended around on each side of her neck to behind her ears, and from her ears to her shoulders, and produced aw ful de formity. It commenced growing when she was but live years old. and continued gradually to in crease until »he was nineteen, at which time she commenced using this Alterative, which she took for seven months, which entirely reduced the en largement; and she has now as smooth and pretty a neck as can be found. The proprietor is not at liberty togive her name in print, but will refer per- HOiift to her. For sale by WM. K. KITCHEN. •ep 28 Jy 2 Sole Agent for Georgia COLLETON BITTJLSRS. FOR DYSPEPTICS. TDIESE BITTERS are purely a vegetable compound, and are offered to tbe pub lic from a principle of benevolence, under the full est conviction that they will be found a safe and sovereign rented v for Dyspepsia. They have been ; triumphantly tested not only by some of the must j respectable families in the State, who have furnish- | ed ample testiraonv as to their decided excellence, but also by the proprietor, who, lor ten year.-, suf fered all the gloom incident to that distressing dis ease. They possess the peculiar excellent e denied to most other Bitters, of not proving injurious by continued use. They contain not a single delete rious ingredient. and, as seen from the directions which accompany each bottle, may be given w ith entire safety to an infant in the month If the Colleton is taken regularly and persever ing! y,( which is highly important in stubborn cases,) they will, soon after the use of a few bottles, he found to act on the system like a charm—imparting vigor to the stomach, bracing the nerves, cleans ing the liver, promoting digestion, increasing the appetite, strengthening the chest and voice, reliev ing pains, cramps, and stitches in the breast. They are also most excellent for cholera morbus, habitual constipat ion, sea-sick ness, nausea, proceeding from whatever cause. In cases of general debility, it has proved one of the best remedies, and is there fore highly recommended to elderly people, literary gentlemen, students, and others of sedentary Taken in small doses frequently through the day, they have checked the most violent diarrhoea, and likewise been administered wiffi the happiest effect I n cholera infantum. In all the foregoing complaints, these Bitters w ill be found effectual if persisted in. and taken accord ing to the directions which accompany each bottle. And although it has been testified by several that they are excellent in many others, yet in none other ; than t hose above enumerated, is the proprietor will- ■ ing to vouch for their efficacy. They werepriraa- i rily and solely intended to cure Dyspepsia. The Colleton Bitters have been eight years be- i fore the public; and in consequence of the increas- j ing demond for this valuable medicine, the proprie- : tor has entered largely into the business— j are procured having “Colleton Bitters” moulded in them—they are also numbered, sealed and stamp- j ed with an appropriate motto Price!? CHRISTIE’S GALVANIC RINGS AND M A G N E T I C F L HID. rWNHIS remarkable invention, which has received the A almost universal approbation of the medical pro- | i session of Great Britain, comprises an entirely new ap- I plication of GaU uiusm, as a remedial agent, by means of j which the ordinary Galvanic Ba tenes, Electric and Mag- ; itclic Machines. Ac., are entirely dispensed w ith. and the mysterious powers of Galvanism applied without any ol the objections which are inseperable from the gene ral mode now in nse. The strong doses, and at irregu lar intervals, in which Gal van is ni is applied by the .Ma chines. has be u pronounced, as era fair anil impartial trial, to be df.cidf.dly injurious, and it was to remedy (Ids radical defect, that this new application was pro jected, which after unceasing toil and perseverance, lias ' been brought to its present slate of perlection. The I Galvanic Rinss answer all the purposes of the most j expensive .Machines, and in many other respects are more safe and certain in accomplishing the desired effect. The Galvanic Rings, used in connection with the .Magnetic Fluid, a e confidently recommended in all D SORDKRS WHICH ARISE FROM AN ENFEEBLED OR UN HEALTHY STATE OF THE NERVOUS OR VITAL SYSTEM. Ulli these complaints are among the most painful and uni versal to which we arc subject. They arise, wilhautcx ceplion, from one simple cause—a derangement of the Nervous system—and it was iit tlie-e cases that other ( “ remedies'’ having so often failed, a new agent was 1 greatly needed, which it is confidently believed, lias I been found in the proper aud judicious application of 1 Galvanism. The Galvanic Rings have been used with entircsuc cess in al I eases of Rheum atism, acute or chronic, ap plying ro the head, face or limbs Gout, Tic-Uolokeu.x Toothache. Bronchitis, Vertigo, Nervous or tMCK Headache, Indigestion. Paralyses. Palsy, Ehi.efsy, Fits, Cramp, Palpitation of the Heart, Appopi.exy, Stiffness f Joints. Spinal Complaints, Kumbaco, Neuralgia. Nervous Tremors, Dizziness of the Head, Pains in the Chest and Side. General Debili ty, Deficiency ok Nervous and Physical Energy, and all Nervous Disorders. In cases of confirmed Dyspepsia, which is simply a nervous derangement of the digestive organs, they have been found equally suc cessful. Their extraordinary effects upon the system must be witnessed to be believed, and as a certain pre ventive for the preceding complaints they are equal ly recommended. Tbe Bings are of different prices, being made of alI sizes, and of various ornamental pat terns, and can be worn by the mostdelicalefcmalewitliout the slightest inconvenience. In fact the sensation is rather agreeable than otharwise. The Gialvauic JJelts, Uracelets, Bamls, barters. Necklaces, Arc. f n some cases of a very severe character and of long standing, the power as applied by the Galvanic Kings is not sufficient to arrest ihr progress of disease and ulti mately to restore health. The nnprov i d modification in the Galvan c Belts, Brace, ets. Sec., entirely reme dies this objection ; any degree of power that i- required can readdy bo obtained, and no complaint which the mysterious agent of Galvanism can effect will fail to he permanently relieved. Th. se articles are adapted to the j waist, arms, wri.-ts, limbs, ancles or any part of ilie body with perfect convenience. The Galvanic Necklaces j ire u-ed with greater benefit in cases of Bronchitis or j affections of the throat generally; also in cases of Ner- i vous Deafness; and with almost uniform success as a I preventive for Apoplexy, Epileptic Fits, aud similar complaints. Christie’s 3lagnelic Fluid. Is issued in connection with ilia Galvanic KsxGs.aiid all their modifications. This composition has been pro nounced by the French Chemists to be one of the most extraordinary discoveries of modern science. It is be lieved to possess a remarkable power of renderihg the .Verves seiisitive to Galvanic actioii, by these means causing a circulation of the influence at the seat of dis ease, and thus giving rapid and permanent relief. No other composition in chemistry is known to produce the same effect or to impart a similar property to the nervous system by means of an outward local application. Tbe Magnetic Fluid confainsiiotliingeapaide of ihesliglit- j esl injury, its application is agreeable, and it is harmless in its action as il is beneficial in its result. Full explana tions and directions accompany it. Tbe combined in ventions are in every way perfectly harmless; they are at prices within reach of all, and the discoverer only re quests a fair trial, as a test of their surprising efficacy and permanent benefit. Christie’s Galvanic Strengthening Plas leis. These articles form another valuable application of tbe mysterious influence of Galvanism. They are an important adjunct to the genuine Galvanic Kinasand their modifications, acting upon the same principle, but b iving this advantage of more local applies ion. They are confidently recommended as a valuable addition in the speedy curt- of Rheumatism, acute or chronic ; in all nervous complaints.aud as a positive remedy in cases of Pain and VVc ik..e.-s i the Che-t or Back, Pain in the Side, in Asthm » ie Affections, and in Weakness or Op- i pression ot the Pulmonary Organs. In Spinal Com plaints; their effects are of the most decided character, and they have often been used with c.uinplft ■ success. Thev are also of the greatest advantage in Pains and Wjaknessof the Breast, aud are highly recommended for many of those complaints to which females are especially liable. As an effectual means for * trengthen ing tbe system when debilitated with disease or other causes ; as a certain aid in Constitutional Weakness, as a Preventive for Colds and in all affections of the Chest generally tbe Galvanic Strengt euing Plaster will be found of greatand pernianemad vantage. 1 n a few words, it embraces all tile virtues of the best tonic preparation with the important addition of the Galveni* - influence, wh ch is neither impaired or exhausted, while the action continues. Thes articles will be found entirely free front those objections which art aconsta tsourceofcom plaint with the ordinary Plastersin common use.
