Cancer and Cancerous Tumors. He has used this preparation in upwards ol twen ty well defined cases of cancer and cancerous tu- j mors, and in every case but one with perlect arm ; entire success. Uronchocele or Goitre, (Swelled Neck.; Jle, has prescribed it in over a hundred cases ol ; goitre, and it has never failed in a single instance i To completely remove the disease. Not u solitary case of failure. All were cured. The success he has met with in curing hronrho celc and cjincsrotts affections lias convinced Litn j that these dangerous and horrible diseases may be removed with as much certainly as Fever and ; iWue. He does not w ish to be understood as say ing that they can be cured as soon as Fever ami \ - ne, but with as much certainty; and further, that JuThas good reason for believing that this prepara tion will not only « tire these diseases when formed, but that it destroys the \ irus or poisonous principle lurking in the system, from which that peculiar class of diseases, as well as that ol scrofula emanate. Scrofula— Iving's F.vil. This preparation has been used i • numerous cases of Scrofula, King’s Evil, and scrofulous swellings, j and always with the- most deci ltd success. Skill UisCHSCS. It has been used in several cases of Neuralgia, j and in every case it was successful. Rheumatism. This preparation has been prescribed in a great many cases of chronic rheumaisrn, and in every casein which it was used until the system became affected by the medicine, the disease was removed 4 ; Clout. number of cases of gout have been cured by this preparation. In one ol these cases, the man j had been afflicted with ii so severely for thirteen : .•fears as to entirely disable him from business, and fur five months immediately previous to bis taking the Alterative he had been confined to Lis room; but before he had finished the third botile, he was enabled to walk about the streets and soon after re lurntid to his business, from which lie La 4 so lung been excluded by his afflictions. Dropsical Swellings, This medicine increases the powers of digestion, excites liie absorbents into healthy exercise, by which watery or calcareous depositions, and all unnatural enlargements are reduce!. It imparts tune and vitality lu the whole system, removing > rick and raorhiu headaches, giddiness, wardering pains and nervous affections. j In fact, in every case where the medicine has been taken for some time, no matter fur wit t pur pose, the general health ol tuc patient has always been improved oy it. In coficJusion, the proprietor would say that some of the most astonishing cases of skin diseases, can cer, brunchoccle, and scrofula, have been cured Oy J this medicine, that have ever been recorded; hut want of room in this sheet precludes their publica tion at this lime. cancer. An interesting case cured by Jayne's Alterative. In the spring of 1831, a cancerous tumor appear ed in the right breast of.Mrs. Phoebe, wife of Peter Stretch, of Salem, N.J. It was examined by many Physicians, and was considered by all as cancerous, and besides bore ail the characteristic marks of j one. All provable means of removing it were used i without the slightest benefit. It continued to in crease both in size and painfulness, until all hope I of saving her life, but by a painful operation, was abandoned, which, after a consultation ot eminent 1 Physicians, was performed, Jan. Ist, 1832, by Dr. John Rhea Barton, assisted by Dr. Redman, the proprietor, and two other medical gentlemen. The I w hole and entire right breast was reiao"ed, and af ter examination of the tumor, was pronounced by all present a cancer of the most malignant charac- 1 ter. In about three months, afterenduring incredi- ! ble sufferings, site was enabled, though broken in | spirit, to get about again. fehe remained feeble, and her general health was exceedingly bad, as in deed it had lieen for several years before. In the , spring of 1837, upwards of five years after her breast had been removed, a painful tumor made its ap pearance on the right side, immediately over the Eart formerly occupied by the nipple of the right reast. previous toils removal. This tumor steadi ly increased fur several months, and became so painful as to deprived her of rest. The glands un derthe right arm were enlarged; and scirrhus, and a hard, irregular, and at limes painful tumour, ap peared in the left breast. No operation could now arrest tiro disease. Indeed her whole body appear ed to be a mass of disease. Her case was consid ered hopeless, bite was of a very scrofulous habit, | both her parents having died of Pulmonary cun bumptiou. The experiment was now made with this Alterative, it was at first given in small doses, three times a day, and the doses very gradu ally, hut steadily increased daily, as long as she look it, which was about six mouilis, and the skin over and around the tumour was wet night and morning with a strong solution of iodine and Hv driodate Potash. The tumour continued increas ing in size for about six weeks, and was at times very painful, w hen the pain suddenly ceased alto gether, and the tumour swelled out at the base, ami became soft, and then began to diminish, and con tinued gradually decreasing until every vestige of disease was removed. The tumour in her left breast, and those m her right axilla were also dis persed. No cancerous or scrofulous tumours ever •appeared afterwards; and her general health, which had been so bad for fourteen years as to make life a burthen, was eflec*ually and permanently restored. The proprietor is in possession of the diseased breast, and those who choose may examine it. He would also say that he could mention over a dozen rases equally interesting, wherein his Alterative has subdued cancer and cancerous tumours, bathe has not room hereto record them. Mrs. Sarah Young, of Quinton’s Bridge, N. J., had a goitrous tumour on the left side of her wind pipe, a- large as the half of an orange, w hich w as cured by using lias Alterative for about four months. Miss R S , South Fourth-street, Phila delphia. was also cured of an enlargement of the throat, which filled the entire spaee between the chin and breast-hone, and extended around on each side of her «eck to behind her ears, and frern her ears to her oinmlders, .aid produced aw ful de formity. It commenced growing when she was but five years old. and continued gradually to in crease until she was nineteen, at which time she commenced using this Alterative, which she took for seven months, which entirely reduced the en- 1 largemenl; and she has now as smooth and pretty a neck as can be found. The proprietor i- not at liberty to give her name in print, but will refer pert| eons to her. For sale by WM. K.
