the market generally has been in a very quiet state, hut few buyers being disposed to operate. On Wednesday accounts from England two clays later were received via New York, but they presented nothing new in regard to Cotton and the sales in our market were confined to about 23b0 bales.— Again on Thursday a special express brought ad vices still two days later, which were received at New York by the ship Liberty, the packet of the bill March. These accounts were not made public until yesterday, and during Thursday some 3290 sales were sold, \esterdaythe market v\as very quiet, the sales barely,reaching 120 J bales; making a total for the three days of 6700 hales, taken for England, Spain and the North. The total sales of the week sum up 17,590 bales. As regards prices they have not materially varied from the early part of the week, though the inactivity in the demand lias made the market somewhat easier for Low- Middlings, while the finer grad-s, owing to their comparative scarcity, and the continuance of some enquiry for • s p.iiu and the North, arc quite fully sustained. The accounts by the steamer Sarah Sands have not yet reached and there is no cer tainty that she sailed < n the 20lh ultimo, as adver tised, hut tli*" daily expectation of her advices, which are looked for with great interest, will he likely to render the market comparatively inactive until lli y arrive.
