The stimulating power of the ingredienlscom
posing this solution is stich, that hy stoepin«r the
Seed in it. the effect is not only to accelerate the
! germination, but to render Ibe vegetation more
vigorous, bv its useful action as a hygroscopic;
the gaseous emanations of carbonic acid, and
carbonated hydrogen, nourish the plant, and
make it more productive to the Partner, by pre
: Venting rust and the attacks of insects.
The numerous advantages arising from the use
of this Sleep, are —Ist, that it is the direct appli
cation of pabulum to the seed, instead of the
ground. 21. It. supersedes all brinings, lime,
plaster, and all other troublesome operations now I
in use. 3d. It causes a much more speedy and
I hardy growth; and lastly, by maturing much
, sooner, (we think 10davs,5if will evade the rust, I
j and consequently, give the husbandman a more
profitable harvest: also, the coal is moderate, (s‘s
for the barrel oi 33 to 35 gallons )

For the information of those who wish second

Extract of a Utter from JOHN S. SKIN

lution was tried, not by me, but mv own son, F.
G. Skinner; the \\ heat he steeped in it Was
sowed very late, yet he stns the effect is very ap

the trial of the Solution Jo all ray friends next

Col. N. Gr(ILDSHOROUGH, writes. March
(Ith, 1845; Three bushels* were seeded in still
while oak land, and here 1 have every reason to
be well satisfied with the experiment; the Wheat
came up theee days earlier, and grew up with as
tonishing vigor, and lias maintained a superiority
over t.he adjacent Wheal, which was hrined and
limed and seedt il the same day in land of the
same quality. It has constantly appeared thus
far as if the land in which the Wheat slteeped in
the .Solution was seeded had been manured, and
the other not; whereas the whole was dressed the
preceding spring with barn-yard manure, tec.
Commodore JONES, U. S. Navy, writes : -‘As

Green Valley Farm, August 27, 18 JO.— I have
tiled your solution, last fall, on Wheat. 1 sowed
a piece of land of three acres, one half the seed
soaked with the Solution, and the other without

seed soaked, gave 21 4 bushels Wheat, the other
one anda halfacres only yielded 12,': the Wheat
weighed 51U pounds per bushel, while that not

Dear Doctor—lt is tlifßcnlt to find words to express the
gratcude which I feel towards you for the Interest you
have taken to relieve me in mv disires-. In the year
1842 I contracted a heavy cold, which finally settled on
my lungs; in a few mouths after I commenced coughing
and raising offensive matter, which smelt very bad.
Having heard that Shernuiu’s Lozenge.- were good for u
cough J tried a few boxcJMf them, hut they had not the
leHsieffcet on me. I then caned in the host physician in the
pla.de, whoa tended me a few months, but without sue
■ cess; I then saw an advertisement in one ofthe city
| papers of Wist ar’s Balsam of Wild Cherry, of which 1
i purchased three bottles, at the corner of Fulton ami Nas
sau streets, hut 1 could mil perceive t !, e least beneficial
; effect from it, on the contrary I think it was a great in
! jury to me. Shortly after using it I commenced raising
i ) blood in large quantities; i was taken down sick and
j confined to the house for three months, during which
\ time 1 lost mv appcltie and f II away very fast; 1 was
1 then induced toconsult Dr. Curtisof New York, (one of
j tile best pliy.-icians in the city,) but he could do me no
j good. I again became worse, and was confined to the
house all last winter and spring, and I gave up ail hope of
j ever getting any better, as I again raised blood and m v
. i cough was very severe,together with a pain in my brea-t
i anti under the shoulder blade. My friends now gave tip
all hope of my recovering, and thought every day was
the last. About this time 1 heard of your BALSAM OF

1 like many other*, -nj was fearful l but it might be a regu
lar humbug; 1 tiowcveUfinally consented to (rv it, an I
j thought it could make me no wor-e. My brother then
1 purchased a bottle of it at 375 Bowery, N T . V.. and f com
menced taking it, and by the time 1 had u-ed one bottle
full I could sleep all night, and in the morning i had an
appetite for my breakfast. 1 still keep on taking it ami
find great benefit from il—the pain in my breast is entire
ly gone, and I rai-e no more blood. Within the last two
months! have gained in weight -ix pounds and much in
strcng li. I would therefore advise all who have any
