NEW YORK, April 24—10 P. M.—The stock
market continues dull and prices drooping —sales
moderate.
The transactions in t! >ur have been to a mode
rate extent, and market dull. Supply not large.—
Small sales Genesee brands at §7.87 a 7,9'D on the
spot. Southern brands held at 87.37 a 7,12. Sales
of Corn Meal at $4,75 and w ilhout a< livity.
'Plie supply of u heat is small. Genesee w hite is
worth 55 a 157 cents, and Jersey red 1!5 cents.
Sales to a moderate amount of Southern yellow
< ’orn at 95 :i 98 cents and white at 92 a 93c. Oa;s,
3 iOO bushels at 19 a 50c. iu fair demand. Sales of
Rye at 94 cents per bushel.
The Colton market is very firm. Sales to-day of

vorable news from Liverpool, lias improved the
feeling lor the article in this market, and the sales

MOBILE, April 23. p. rn. Cotton. —The mar
ket lias been comparatively quiet for the past three
i:sys —sales reaching only 25 0 bales. Both par
ties are awaiting later advices from Europe, now
nearly due. We quote middling —a UJf; mid
fair —a 10|; and fair 11 a I lie. Receipts of the
week 4,284 bales; exports 11,381; stock 139,611
bales.
Exchanges —Continue to improve. Sterling 3 a
4; Francs 0f.50; New York 60 day bills 14 a2;
Sight par. The demand has been principally fi r
short sight, and the offerings are exceedingly light.
Freights —We have no change to report in rates.
To Liverpool id. There is nothing doing to Ha
vre. Coastwise —fn. is the ruling rate, at which
one or two schooners have been taken. The ton
nage in port has increased by the arrival of 10
ships, 3 barks and 5 brigs during the week.

Bacon —Sales. 40 and 15 casks Shoulders at 54c;

ant and tendency upward.
Whisky —Early in the morning 60 and 40 bids,
