Jlronchocele or Goitre, (Swelled Neck.) He has,prescribed it in over a hundred cases of and it ha- never failed in a e ngle instance To completely remove the d'sefcse. Not a sd.Mary case ef-failure. All were cured. The success he. lias met with in curing hronrlio cele and cancerous affections has convinced him that these dangerous and horrible diseases may be removed with as much-certainty as Fever and Ague. He does not w ish to be understood as say ing tiiat they can be cured as soon as Fever and Ague, but with as much certainly; and further, that be has good reason for believing that this prepara tion will not only < ore lliese diseases when formed, hut that it destroys the virus or poisonous principle lurking in the system, from whic h that peculiar class of diseases, as well as that ofscrofu la emanate. Scrofula —King’s Fvil. This preparation has been used in numerous cases ofScrofula, King’s Evil, and scrofulous swellings, and always w ith the most <ie*-i :ed success. Skin Diseases. lie has prescribed it in a great variety of cutane ous affections, and found it successful in curing salt rheum, or tetter, biles, blotches, pimples,murphevv and jaundiced skin,&?r. Dyspepsia and Liver Complaint. It has been used in numerous cases of liver com plaint and Dyspepsia, and with the happiest effect. Tic-Donloureuz. It has been used in several cases of Neuralgia, and in every cake it was successful. Rheumatism. This preparation has been prescribed in a great many cases of chronic rheumaism, and in every case in which it was used until the system became affected by the medicine, the disease was removed’ Cotit-. A number of cases of gout have been cured by this preparation. In one ol these cases, the man had been afflicted w ith it so severely for thirteen years as to entirely disable him from business, and for five months immediately previous to his taking the Alterative he had been confined to his room; but before he had finished the third bottle. Ire was enabled to walk about the streets and soon after re turned to his business, from which he had so long been excluded by his afflictions. Dropsical Swellings, Thismedicine increases the powers of digestion, excites the absorbents into healthy exercise, by which watery or calcareous depositions, and ail unnatural enlargements are reduced. It imparls tone and vitality to the whole system, removing sick and morbid headaches, giddiness, wandering painsand nervous affections. • In fact, in every case where the medicine has been taken for some lime, no matter fur v\ h .t pur pose, the general health of the patient has always been improved ny it. In conclusion, the proprietor would say that some of the most astonishing cases of skin diseases, can cer, brunchocele, and scrofula, have been cured by thismedicine, that have ever been recorded; but want of room in this sheet precludes their publica tion at this lime. CANCER. Aw interesting .case cured by Jayne's Alterative. In the spring of 1831, a cancerous tumor appear ed in the right breast of Mrs. PUtehe, wife of I’eier Stretch, ofSalem, N. J. It was examined by many Physicians, and was considered by all as cancerous, and besides bore all tlie characteristic marks of : one. All probable means of removing it were used 1 without the slightest benefit. It coniii'iued to in- ; crease both in size and painfulness, until till hope of saving her life, but by a painful operation, was abandoned, which, after a consultation oi eminent 1 Physicians, was performed, Jan. Ist, 1834, by Dr. ! John Rhea Barton, assisted by Dr. Redman, the proprietor, and two other medical gentlemen. The j whole and entire right breast was remo- e.J, and af ter examination of the tumor, was pronounced by all present a cancer of the most malignant charac ter. In about three months, after enduring incredi- j ble sufferings, she was enabled, though broken in spirit, to get about again. 81ie remained feeble, j and her general health was exceedingly bad, as in deed it iiad been for several years before. In the i spring of 1837, upwards of five years after her bieast had been removed, a painful tumor made its ap pearance on the right side, immediately over the part formerly occupied by the nipple of the right breast, previous to its removal. This tumor steadi ly increased for several months, and became so painful as to deprived her of rest. The glands un der the right arm were enlarged; and scirrhus, and a hard, irregular, and at times painful tumour, ap peared in the left breast. No operation could now arrest thedisease. Indeed her whole bodyappear ed to be a mass of disease. Her case was consid ered hopeless. She was of a very scrofulous habit, both her parents having tiled of Pulmonary con sumption. ’Phe experiment was now made with this Alterative. It was at first given in small doses, three times a day, and the doses very gradu ally, hut steadily increased daily, as long as she took it, which was about six months, and the skin over and around the tumour was wet night and morning with a strong solution of lodine and ily driodate Potash. The tumour continued increas ing in size for about six weeks, and was at times very painful, when the pain suddenly ceased alto gether, and the tumotirswelled out at the base,and became soft, and then began to diminish, and con tinued gradually decreasing until every vestige of disease was removed. The tumour in her left breast, and those in her righi axilla were also dis persed. No cancerous or scrofulous tumours ever appeared afterwards;and hergeneral health, vvlnch had been so bad for fourteen years as to make life a burthen, was effectually and permanently restored. The proprietor is in possession of the disea-ed breast, and those who choose may examineit. He would also say that he could mention over a dozen cases equally interesting, wherein his Alterative has subdued cancer ami cancerous tumours, but he has not room hereto record them. Mrs. Sarah \ oung, of Quinton’s Bridge, N. J., Had a goitrous tumour on the left side of her wind pipe, as large as the half of an orange, vv Inch was cured by using this Alterative for about four months. Miss R—— S , South Fourth-street, Phila delphia, was also cured of an enlargement of the throat, which filled the entire spaee between the chin and hreasl-bono, and extended around on each side of her neck to behind her ears, and from her ears to her shoulders, and produced aw ful de fortuity. It commenced growing when she was but five years oJ£ and continued gradually to in crease until she "was nineteen, at which time she commenced using this Alterative, which she took for seven months, w hich entirely reduced the en largement; and she has now as smooth and pretty a neck as can be found.
