He is at present in the employ of George Schley,

His engagement w ill terminate on the isi October

Hi* chemical knowledge of the Cold Blue Dye is j

country, and by his mode can, from the same |
amount of Indigo, dye nearly three times the i
amount dyed in tire common way. His instruc

efit to an establishment in one year than three j
times the amount of hi* wages. He has, at pre- |
sent, under hi* instruction, a hoy, belonging to hi* 1
employer, whom he has partly taught the art of j
dyeing colors most suitable for the Factory, viz: j
Red, Yellow, Brown, Orange and Blue, and will i

TIHE *ul •scriber will continue the manufacture
of GIN'S on his usual extensive scale; and
embraces this opportunity to thank his numerous

The estimation in w hich his Gins are held may be ’

bly lert to one over any other factory in the State.
Tliis evidence of the superiority o) his Gins, is ac
counted for. by his being the first to introduce the i
late improvements, and keeping the lead, by year- \
ly adding new ones. His first and second iui- i
proventenls, made jhe quality of cotton perfect, j
though some were rati;el* *low, his third made
them sufficiently fast, it then only remained to
make them more durable anti convenient, which
has been done effectually, by several new improve
ments, the present year, besides, he has the exclu
sive right of the State, and the privilege nf other
sections, to furnish Reed’s Talent Water Boxes,
which are believed to he ten times more dui'.'h'e

trial of them, and are infallibly secure against fire
by friction. His fine Gins, will gin Mastodon Col

Dr. M. Woodruff—Dear Sir— -1 owe you an
apology for not acknowledging before this receipt
ol a box of your Dysentery Cordial,* which you
had the kindness to send me while in Columbus,
for the use of my corps.
i have found ita most valuable medicine, and
only regret that p have not a supply of it. Whero-
I ever my men have followed directions they have
invariably found relief. We have suffered and
are suffering much from Dysentery occasioned
by the wretched water we have to drink, but your
cordial is restoring all to their wonted health
and vigor. With my sincere thanks for your
kindness, and best wishes for your success, I
am your obedient servant.

Dr. Woodruff ;My dear Sir—A few days
since f received the Cordial which you were good
enough to send me. Mv friend, Col. Seaborn
Jo,nes, would have part of it; the remainder lhave
laid aside for use when I may need it.
On the other page, 1 have added a statement of
my appreciation of it as a Medicine.
' Having used the Cordial of Dr. M. Woodruff,
I do not hesitate to pronounce it a most valuable
! Medicine. Indeed, for such affections of the
bowels as we sometimes suffer with in the South,
I know nothing at all equal to it.

COTTON GINS!
IMPROVE l> ON WHAT WAS BEFORE
UO.VSaOEREO PERFECT.
IH.WE heretofore labored that toy cotton gins
*houid be thought superior lo any manufac
| lured in Georgia. By uttering to the public such I
an article I have been liberally patronized, for
which I feel grteful. 1 have warranted my fine
gin*. 1 hav« never had one returned as not com
ing up to what I promised. It is known 1 have,
ami do promise that my gins make superior cot
ton. I hate do travelling agents. 1 rely on my
gins telling a belter tale for me, and one that will
be sooner believed than a travelling agent; in
short, i flops* to make my gins sell themselves. i
feel confident in staling that I have made valua
ble improvements in line gimu and that I shall
hereafter furnish an improved gin to anything
heretofore sold. I would also inform citizens of
Warren, Washington, Wilkes, Columbia and
Burke counties, that 1 have purchased Simpson’s
improvement for band machinery, und those who
purchase my gins in the counties named will have
the use of the [latent tree; the material, when de
sired, will be pul on the head block, free ot charge.
It will require a small outlay t>f material on the
band wheel, which will be furnished at the lowest
possible rale, and which, when used, reduces the
draft loan astonishing extent; the character of 1
the improvement is simply by propelling the ma- :
chine ry by a slack band, instead of a tight one. —
Mylinest fiction Roller Gins art sold as ;~3 per
■ aw.
My plain gins are also greatly improved, and
will be *old according to kind, from ji'2 to
per saw. My finest gins have heretofore sold J
higher than other gins, and yet, heretofore, 1 !
have not been able to supply the demand, whilst
I l i.qe been unable losell but few plain gins.
