Harris, lie submitted the following preamble and resolutions to the consideration of the meeting which were unanimously adopted; \\ herons, unceasing efforts are being made to bring Democratic principles into disrepute mid to paraiize the present Administration of the Federal Government by withholding “‘aid and comfort” from him while he is noblv doing his duty, and whereas we have unabat ed confidence in the integrity of the man and the correctness of his principles. Be it • Resulted, 1 hat so long as the measures of the Democratic party shall continue to ‘ vindicate themselves” from the assaults of their opponents, we have nothing to fear at the hands of an enlightened and patriotic people. Resulted, That the present prosperity of the whole country is a sure guarantee of.such vindication and of the .soundness and correct ness of Democratic principles, and that as Democrats we have just cause to lie proud t’t 1 lie measures which have oriojnaled this prosperity and which, if permitted to exist, must continue to sustain it lor all lime to come.
