Not a solitary vase of failure. All were cured. The success he has met with in curing broncho cele and cancerous affections has convinced him that these dangerous and horrible diseases may be removed with as much certainly as fever ami Ai-aie. He does not wish .0 be understood as sav in" that they can be cured as soon as Rever ami Ague, bat w ith as much certainty; and further, that he has good reason for believing that this prepara tion will not only * are these diseases wiren formed, but that it destroys the virus or poisonous principle lurking in the system, from which that peculiar class of diseases, as well as that ofscrofu! a emanate Scrofula—Kiug ? s Evil. This preparation has been used in numerous eases of Scrofula, King's Evil, and scrofulous swellings, and always with the most deci led success. Skin Diseases. This preparation has been prescribed in a great many cases of chronic rheumaism, and in every case in which it was used until the system became affected by the medicine, the disease was removed 1 Gout. \ number of cases of gout have been cured hy tills preparation. In one of tiiese cases, the man had been afflicted with It so severely for thirteen years as 10 entirely disable him from business, and for five months immediately previous to his taking the Alterative he had been confined to his room; but before he had finished the third bottle, he was enabled to walk about the streets and soon after re turned to his business, from which he hud so long been excluded hy his afflictions. Dropsical Swellings, This medicine increases the powers of digestion, excites the absorbents into healthy exercise, by which watery or calcareous depositions, and all unnatural enlargements are reduced. It imparts tone and vitality to the whole system, removing sick and morbid headaches, giddiness, pains and nervous affections. Iu fact, in every case vvffcpe the medicine has been taken fur some time, ntrhKUter fur wh t pur pose, the general health of the patient has always been improved by it. In conclusion, the proprietor would say thalsonie of the most astonishing cases of skin diseases, can cer, brdnchocele, and scrofula, have been cured by this medicine, that have ever been recorded; hut want of room in this sheet precludes their publica ion at this time. CANCER. Jin interesting case cured hy Jayne's Alterative. In the spring of 1831, a cancerous tumor appear ed in the right breast of Mrs. Phoebe, wife of Peter Stretch, of Salem, N. J. It was examined by many Physicians, and was considered by all as cancerous, and besides bore all the characteristic marks of one. All probable means of removing it were used | Without the slightest benefit. It continued 10 in crease both in size and painfulness, until all hope of saving her life, but by a painful operation, was abandoned, which, after a consultation of eminent Physicians, was performed, Jan. Ist, 1832, by Dr. ; John Rhea Barton, assisted by Hr. Redman, the proprietor, and two other medical gentlemen. The whole and entire right breast w as removed, and af ter examination of the tumor, was pronounced by all present a cancer of the most malignant ctiarac- I ler. In about three months, after enduring incredi j ble sufferings, she was enabled, though broken in spirit, to get about again. ;She remained feeble, and her general health was exceedingly bad, a* in deed it had been for several years before. In the I spring of 1837, upwards of five years afier her breast Had been removed, a painful tumor made its ap- ; peasauce on the right side, immediately over the part formerly occupied hy the nipple of the right breast, previous toils removal. This tumor steadi- j ly increased for several months, and became so 1 painful as to deprived her of rest. The glands un der the right arm were enlarged; and .-cirrlius, and a hard, irregular, ami at times painful tumour, ap- j peared in the left breast. No operation could now nr rest the disease. Indeed her whole body appear ed to be a mass of disease. Her case was consid ered hopeless. She was of a very scrofulous habit, 'both her parents having died of Pulmonary con- j sumption. The experiment was now made with this Alterative- It vvaa at first givi 11 in small doses, three times a day, and the doses very gradu ally, but steadily increased daily, as long as she took it, which was about six months, and the skin over and around the tumour was wet night and ’ morning with a strong solution of lodine and Hy ffriodate Potash. The tumour continued increas ing in size for about six weeks, and was at times very painful, when the pain suddenly ceased alto gether, and the tumour swelled out at the base, and became soft, and then began to diminish, and con tinued gradually decreasing until every vestige of disease was removed. The tumour in her left breast, and those in her right axilla were also dis persed. No cancerous or scrofulous tumours ever hergeneral health, which had been sobad for fourteen years as to make life a burthen, was effectually and permanently restored, j The proprietor is in possession of the diseased i breast, and those who choose may examine it. He wfiuld also say tjgthe could mention over a dozen ' *€se#equally interesting, wherein his Alterative has subdued cancer and cancerous tumours, but he | has not room here to record them. g Mrs. Sarah Young, of Quinton’s Bridge, N. J., ihad a goitrous tumour on the left side ot her wind pipe, a* large as the half of an orange, which was cured by using this Alterative for about four months. \JHiss R S , South Fourth-street, Phila delphia, was also dpVed of an enlargement of ti.e throat, which filled the entire spam* between ihe chin amt breast-bone, and extended around on each side of her neck to behind her ears, and from her ears to he* shoulders, and produced awful de formity. It conuneuced growing when she was | but five years old, a*Jd~€‘bntinned gradually to in crease until she was nineteen, at which time she commenced using this Alterative, which she took j for seven months, which entirely reduced the en- j largeraent; and she has now as smooth and pretty \ a neck as ran be found. Otar Sir: I have used the Gin bought of you for two years ami I very cheerfully recommend vt to the Cotton planters of Oglethorpe ami other counties of Georgia. It turns off sufficiently fast to make good ('oUon—ii being 50 saws—will throw , out about SOO ih. of lint a day. The quality of the Cotton has in Augusta ranged half cent higher at each of my sales than other sales ol those days, and ' it has been pronounced by those considered com petent to judge—as in no way inferior to the Cava ; Gin. Yours very respectfully, T. Meiuuwether. April 21th, 1847. Oglethorpe County, April 22, 1347. I have used for the last three, years a machine that was made by S. R. Crenshaw, of Crawford ■ville. 1 consider itone of the best Gins 1 have ever seen. Two small mules will gin, with a ersat deal of ease, three hales per day, and I do not think there is a gin in Georgia that can excel it in making fine Cotton, in feet, Mr. Crenshaw has sold a great many gins in 11 1 i- county and Elbert, ami 1 think that every man who has purchased is perfectly satisfied. All of his gins which have been sold in this county, end they are not a few, ; run light, pick fast, and what is better than all, w lien tiie cotton is carried to market it sell* tor the very highest price. This is to certify that 1 purchased one of Mr. S. R. Crenshaw’s improved anti-friction Cotton Gins last year, and find it to he superior to any Gin 1 have ever used. Curtis of NVw York, (one of 1 the best physicians m tlx city,) but he could do me no good. I again became worse, and was confined to the house alllast winter and spring, and I gave upall hope of ever getting any better, as 1 again raised blood and my cough was very severe, together with a pain in my breast : and under the shoulder blade.
