Since tiiat period unfavorable advices have reached us from the oilier side, per the Hibernia, which have had the tendency to create even a greater degree of iangor; and indeed so United have been tlie operations that the market may be said to have been brought to a stand still during the current week. On Saturday last n thing was done in the article Sunday’s mail brought the steamer s accounts, quoting a decline of a fd ; since which time tfie transactions have been too limited to establish prices; and our friends must exercise s nne forbearance with us, for in the present stagnant and prostrate state of the market it is impossible to give quotations. There is no such things as effecting sales, uubss at great sacrilices, anti factors during the past : fortnight have been shipping; chiefly coastwise, to relieve tlu ir necessities. The receipts since «mr last reach 1121 bah s. against the sales in the s...ne lime of only about 400 bales, at prices rang ing from 9to I 1 |c. per lb. W e have no sales to report in any of the descriptions classed under the head of Long Colton. Rice - 1 here was some little excitement in the Iltcc morket on Saturday last, in consequence of the favorable report relative to breadstuff's, receiv ed by the Rii bow. and upwards ot 700 tierces changed hands at an advance of 25c. pet hundred above previous transactions; but a still greater advance was established on Mondav, based upon the advices brought over by tlie H’Lurni i, and j which came to band on the preceding dav; and when we closed our inquiries on Tuesday, pre paratory to t e publication of our semi weekly report, prices wi re up per hundred above those raid at thecose of the previous week, the mark* however.for the last three da. s has been very quiet, but the i nprovcineut noticed above bas been fully sustained. The sab sos the vve» k r< i h some 1400 tierces, at extremes ranging from 4 13-I6ths to SSJ. but a very largo portion of the sales embrace the range of:sstos;s§ per hundred. Received this week 967 tierces.. Flour.- - I he supply consists almost cxclusi c ly of country brands. The recent advance on the other side of the water lias had quite a favor able influence on prices, which hate advanced. 'The market opened on Saturday last at 7$ a 87 }, and as the week advanced S, B}. and even B'Bi per barn i was obtained for some small lots; with in a few days, however, prices have become un settled, and ves erday one or two s nal parcels were sold at 7{ aBB per barr. 1 Uur quotations, we think, will give a fair criterion of the mai ket. Recrt-cd per Rail Road 1000 barrels. Several band e l barrets have been shipped to New York. Corn. —There has been some enquiry for this ar ticle during the week, un i a decided advantage bis been untamed, owing to the rec*nt very fav orable advices from tlie other side. Tire iransac tions h ivo been confined Imost exclusively to country desf-ripMom;. chiefly at §1 (5 per bushel, iaclud ing the sack; small parcels, however, com* maud higher prices. We hare no arrivals from North Carolina, Maryland or Virginia during tlie week, and have erased all quotations for these kinds; hut would refer tooiir list of prices for a fair index of the market for country Corn. Re ceived since our last 10,000 bushels per Rail Road. Some of tlie transactions noticed above have been rand* to fill orders for the Baltimore market. —We have no charge to notice in Ter- I eiyn Freights, and continue to quote to Liverpool, Cotton,in square hags, at 7 Iffths; and Ic. to Ha ! vre; vessels loading, however, make butslovv pro j gress.
