In one ol these cases, I lie man diad been afflicted with it so severely for thirteen years as to entirely disable him from business, and ior live months immediately previous to his taking the Alterative he had been confined to Ids room; but le-tore lie had finished the third bottle, he was enabled to w alk about the streets and soon after re * turned to his business, from v hich lie had so long been excluded by his afflictions. In fact, in every case where the medicine has -been taken for some lime, no matter fur win pur pose, the general health of the patient has always •been improved by it. 1h conclusion, the proprietor would say that some of the most astonishing cases of skin diseases, can cer, bronchocele, and scrofula, nave been -cured by this medicine, that have ever been recorded; but want of room in this sheet precludes their publics,- ion at this time. CANCER. An interesting case cured by Jayne’s Alterative. In the spring of I S3l. a cancerous tumor appear *ed in the right breast of .Mrs. Phoebe, w ife of Peter •Stretch, of Salem, N.. I. It was examined by many Physicians, and was considered by all as cancerous, •and besides bore all the characteristic marks of (tote. All probable: means of removing it were used without the slightest benefit, ft continued to in crease both in size ami painlulness, until all hope of saving her life, but by a painful operation, was abandoned, which, after a consultation oi eminent Physician*, was per;'>rm c. j; n Ist, 1833, by Dr. John Rhea Barton, assisted by Dr. Redman, the proprietor, and two other medical gentlemen. I'ic whole and entire right breast was removed, a:;d af •ter examination of the tumor, was pronounced by ■all present a cancer of the most malignant charac ter. in about three months, after enduring incredi foie sufferings, she was enabled, though broken in -spirit, to get about again. She remained feeble, and her general health was exceedingly bad, as in deed it had been for several years before. In the spring of 1837, upwards of live years after her breast ¥vad been removed, a painful turner made its ap pearance on the right side, immediately over the part formerly occupied by the nipple of the right breast, previous toils removal. This tumor steadi ly increased for several months, and became so painful as to deprived tier us rest. 'The glands un fertile right arm were, enlarged; and >cin bus, and a hard, irregular, and at times painful tumour, ap peared iu the left breast. No operation could now arrest tfiedisease. Indeed her w hole body appear ed to be a mass of disease. Her case was consid ered hopeless. She wasof a very scrofulous habit, both her parents having died of Pulmonary con sumption. The experiment was now made with this Alterative. It was at first given hi small Joses, three times a day, and the, doses very gradu ally, but steadily increased daily, as long as she •took it, which was about six months, and the skin ■over and around the tumour was wet night and -morning with a strong solution of lodine and Hy f rioilate Potash. The tumour continued increas ing 111 SlZP~tVn~"ttbotrt a»T~ wccK.s, omt tv a* ai rime* very painful, when the pain suddenly ceased alto gether, and the tumour swelled out at the base, ami became soft, and then began to diminish, ami con tinued gradually decreasing until every vestige of . .disease was removed. The tumour in her left breast, and those in her right axilla were also dis persed. No cancerous or scrofulous tumours ever appeared afterwards, and tier general health, which bad been so bad for fourteen years as to make life a burthen, was effectually and permanently restored. The proprietor is in possession fe t.he diseased sbreasi, and those who choose may examine it. He would also sav that he could mention over a dozen .cases equally interesting, wherein his Alterative has subdued cancer and cancerous tumours, but he has not room hereto record them. Mrs, Sgrab Young, of Quinton’s Bridge, N. J., had a goitrous tumour on the left side ot her w iiul .pipe.as large as t lie half of an orange, which was ■cured by using this Alterative for about four montlis. Miss IT 8 , SotKii Fourth-street, Phila delphia. was also cured of an enlargement of the throat, which tilled the entire space between the chin and breast-bone, and extended around on each side of her neck to behind iter ears, and from her ears to her shoulders, and produced aw ful de forinjty. It commenced growing when she was tint five years cld. and continued gradually to in crease until she was nineteen, at which time she commenced using this Alterative, which she took fur seven months, which entirely reduced the en largement; and she bas now as smooth and pretty a neck as caq be found. The proprietor is not at -iberty togive her name in print, but will refer per son* to her. For sale by WM. K. KITCHEN, eep £8 ly £ Sole Agent for Geor-ia.
