Nervous Diseases, jfrovsicai Swellings, Constitutional Disorders and diseases originating from a depraved or Impure stale of the Blood or other fluids of the body. The proprietor of this Alterative would most re s peel fully assure the public that he has noi offered this preparation to their notice without due reflec tion, and close and rigid study, nor until after twelve years' experience had manifested its creat superiority over every other article of the kind and he now recommends it with confidence, lolly believing that the above con b nation of medicine will effectually eradicate from.ihe system a class of disease some of which have heretofore been cult- ; tide red incurable. | lie has prescribed if in nlmost every variety of | disease and with unparalleled success, especially j in cutaneous afTeclious, cancerous, scrofulous and scorbutic diseases, and diseases originating Irom obstruction or enlargeraeut of the glands or impuri ty of the blood. Cancer and Canccrons Tumors, lie has used this preparation in upwards oftwen tv well defined cases of cancer and cancerous tu mors. and in every case but one with period and entire success. Rronchocelc or Goitre, (Swelled Neck.) He has prescribed it in over a hundred cases of goitre, and it ha< nev -r failed in a single instance, to completely remove the disease. Not a solitary case of failure. All were cured. The success be has met with in curing broncho cele and cancerous affections has convinced him that these dangerous and horrible diseases may be removed with as ranch certainty as Fever and Ague. He does not wish to be understood as say jog that they can be cured as soon as Fe ver and Ague, but with as much certainty; and limber, that lie has good reason for believing that this prepara tion will not only « are these diseases when formed, hut that it destroys the virus or poisonous prinflJL* c lurking in the system, from which that peculiar class of diseases, as well as that ofscrofulaemanaie. Scrofula—King’s Evil. This preparation has been used in numerous cases cf. Scrofula, King's Evil, and scrofulous swellings, and always w ith the most deci led success. Skin Diseases. II has been used in several cases of Neuralgia, and in every case it was successful. Rheumatism. This preparation has been prescribed in a srreat many cases of chronic rheumaism, and in every rase in which it was used until t lie system became | affected by the medicine, the disease was removed* Gout. A number of cases of gom hare been cured by this preparation. In one «1 these cases, the man had been afflicted with it so severely for thirteen Years as to entirely disable him from business, and fur five months immediately previous to his taking the Alterative he had been confined to his room; but before he had finished the third bottle, he was enabled to walk about the streets and soon after re turned to his business, from which be had so long been excluded by his afflictions. , Dropsical Swellings, This medicine increases the pow ers 0 f digestion, excites Use absorbents into healthy exercise, by which watery or calcareous d nositions, and all unnatural enlargements are iced, it imparts tone and vitality to the v.bole system, removing sick and morbid headaches, giddiness, wardering pains and nervous?affections. in fact, in every case , where the medicine has been taken for some time, no matter for wh t pur pose, the general health * r the patient has always been improved Oy it. In conclusion, the proprietor would nay that some •of the most as onishing cases of skin diseases, can cer, bnmchocele, and scrofula, have been cured t»y ■this medicine, that have ever been recorded; but want of room in this sheet precludes their publica ion at this time. CANCER. Jin interesting case cured by Jayne's Alterative. In the spring of 1831, a cancerous tumor appear •cd in the fight breast ofMrs. Phoebe, wife of Peier j •Stretch, of Salem, N. J. It was examined by many Physicians, and was considered by all as cancerous, ■ and besides bore all the characteristic marks of •one. Ali probable means of removing it w ere used without the slightest benefit. It continued to in- ! •crease both in size and pain fulness, until all hope of saving her life, but hya painful operation, was abandoned, which, after a consultation oi eminent Physicians, was performed. Jan. Ist, 1832, by Dr. John Rhea Barton, assisted by Dr. Redman, the f proprietor, and two other medical gentlemen. The ! whole and entire right breast was removed, and af ter examination.of the tumor, was pronounced by .till present a cancer of the most malignant etiarac- Per. In about three months, after enduring incredi ble sufferings, she was enabled, though broken in spirit, to gel about again. She remained feeble, and her general health was exceedingly bad, as in deed it had been for several years before. In the c pring of 1837, upwards of five years lifter her breast had been removed, a painful tumor made its ap - ice ov. the right side, immediately over the par». formerly mice pied-by the nipple of the right breast, previous to its removal. This tumor steadi- j v increased for several months, and became so painful as to deprived her of rest. The glands un der the right arm were enlarged; and scirrhus, and j R hard, irregular, and at times painful tumour, ap peared in the left breast. No operation could now j -orrest the disease. Indeed her whole body appear- ! «d to be a mass of disease. Her case was consid ered hopeless. She was of a very scrofulous habit, both her parents having died of Pulmonary con sumption. The experiment was now made with this Alterative. It was at first given in small closes, three times a day, and the doses very gradu ally, hut steadily increased daily, as long as she took it, which was about six months,-and the skin over and around the tumour was wet night and morning with a strong solution of lodine 1 driodate Potash. The tumour continued increas ing in size for about six weeks, and was at times very painful, when the pain suddenly ceased alto- j frether. and the maotir swelled out at the base, and became soft. a«d then began to diminish, and con tinued gradually decreasing until every vestige of disease was removed. The tumour in her left breast, asd those in her right axilla were also din persed. Np cancerous or scrofulous tumours ever : appeared afterwards;and hergeueral health, which had been so had for fourteen years as to make life a burthen* waa effectually and permanently restored. | The proprietor Is In possession of the diseased breast., and those who choose may examine*it. He i would also say that he could mention over a doften cases equally interesting, wherein his Alterative ha* subdued eanceraud canceroustumours.but he has not room hereto record them. •- Mrs, Sarah Young, of Quintan’s Bridge. N. J., nd a goitrous tumour on the left side of her wind pipe,as large as the half of an orange, w hich was cured by using this Alterative for about four J months. 3li«s R S .South Fourth -street, Phila delphia, was also cured of an enlargement of thy ‘ throat, which filled the entire spaee between the j chin and breast-bone, and extended around on each side of her neck to behind her ears, and frern j her ears to her shoulders, and produced aw ful de formity. It commenced growing w hen she was lit five years old. and continued gradually to in ase until she was nineteen, at which lime she mmenced using this Alterative, which she took .or seven months, which entirely reduced the en largement; and she has now as smooth and pretty a neck as can be fount!. The proprietor is no; at iberty to give her name in print, but will refer per son' to her. For sal* hy WM. K. KITCHEN, tsp 28 "ly 2 Sole Agent for Georgia, j GR IS WOLD’S IMPROVED” COTTON GINS, THE subscriber will continue the manufacture of GINS on his usual extensive scale; and embraces ibis opportunity to thank his numerous customers for their liberal patronage heretofore.— ■ The estimation in which his Gins are held may be i known from the fact of his having sold more than two thousand within the last three years; proba bly ten to one over any other factory in the State. This evidence of the superiority of his Gins, is ac j counted for, by his being the first to introduce the late improvements, and keeping the lead, by year ly adding new ones. His first and second im provements, made the quality of cotton perfect, j though some were rather slow, his third made them sufficiently fast, it then only remained to make them more, durable and convenient, which has been done effectually, by several new improve, i ments, the present year, besides, he has the exclu i sive right of the State, arid the pri\ilege of other , sections, to furnish Reed's Patent Water Boxes, w hich are believed to be ten times more durable | than any other, by those who have made a fair trial of them, and are infallibly secure against (ire by friction. His fine. Gins, will gin Mastodon Cot ton as well as any Saw Gin can. His agents will visit planters generally, and exhibit specimens of j his lat w improvements, and point out their advan -1 tages, in time, for all to engage, and be supplied be j fore next ginning season, or, engagements can be I made by letier, directed to him at Clinton, Jones i county Georgia. My trios shall be made of the best mi terial*, and I can say with propriety they are the | cheapest gins sold in the Southern .States, taking ; the workmanship iu consideration. 1 will war rant my gms to make cotton equal to any made on , any other gins in the Southern States, giving the ■ true staple of the cotton and making it perfectly ; j free of knap and clear of moats. My gins will be delivered at the purchaser's residence free of charge ami warranted to give ample satisfaction. All orders addressed to the subscriber will meet w ;’(* prompt attention; repairing done in good siyle and at shut! notice. All old gins of 10 inch saws | I will repair and put them on improved principles, anti also warrant them to make as good cotton as any of the improved gins, and at a much less cost than a new gin. J. D. HAM MACK, j Craw ford vilie, Ga-, May 4. I will say to the planters who may favor Mr. i I Harnmack w ith their patronage I will exert ali the ability I have in superintending the shop; ami ■ every gin sent from the shop aha!* be incomplete | order, and warranted to be the cheapest gins ever offered to the public ; and from ray long expert ence in the business, I know the gins cannot be j surpassed, although agents from other shops have resorted to the contemptible practice of slandering i me and saying my gins have prostrated me, though it is not true. In full confirmation of what I say, . | 1 offer a fevV certificates from gentlemen who i have Used my gins and could furnish many more of this kind, if require . S. R. CfifcNstiAw. | Dear Sir' I have used the Gin bought of yon i for two years nftd I very cheerfully recommend it 1 to the Cotton planters of Oglethorpe and other Counties of Georgia.- It turns off sufficiently fast \ to make good Cotton —-il being 30 saws—will throw out about 3UU lb. of Hut a day. The quality of the I Cotton basin A UgU.-ta ranged half cent higher at I each of my sales than other sales of those days, and it has been pronounced by those considered com petent (o judge—as in no way inferior to the Cava Gin. Vours very respectfully, F. MERRIWETHER. April 2 Ith, IBIT. Oglethorpe Countv, April 22, 1817. I have used for the last three years a machine that was made by S. K. Crenshaw, of Cra.wford vilie. 1 consider itone of the best Gins 1 have ever seen. Two small mules will gin, with a j j great deal of ease, three bales per day, and i do not I : think there is a gin in Georgia that can excel it in 1 making fine cotton. In fact, Mr. ’Crenshaw has i sold a great many gins in this county and Libert, j and I think that every man who has purchased is j perfectly satisfied. All of his gins which have been sold in ibis county, and they are not a few, run light, pick fast, and w hat is better titan all, when the cotton is carried to market it sells for the i very highest price.
