HOW AW?OLLY CfiLPAULS,
; TO NEGLECT USING THE GENUINE

■ r 375 Bowery, N. Y.
"X|TU ? he who have Pulmonary Con ump
i -y i tion, or any affection of the Lu:igs*Liver or
Chest, after reading the following letter, just re
{ ceived from a most respectable inhabitant of West
chester County New York.
I Tarkvtown, Aug. 9, 1844. |
Dear Doctor—lt is difficult to find words to ex
press the gratitude which 1 feel towards you for
! the interest you have taken to relieve me in my
distress. In the year 1842 I contracted a heavy
j cold, which finally settled on my lungs; in a few r |
j months after. 1 commenced coughing and raising
offensive matter, which smelt very bad. Having
heard that Sherman’s Lozenges were good for a
i coughs 1 tried a few boxes of them, but they had i
; not the least effect on me. I then cailed in the
I best physicians in the place, who attended me a
! few months, but without success; I then saw an ad
| vertisement in one of the city papers of Wistars
i Balsam of V» ild Cherry, of which 1 purchased three
bottles, at the corner of Fulton and Nassau streets,
but 1 could not perceive the least beneficial effect
from it, on the contrary 1 think it was a great in- j
jury to me. Shortly after using it, 1 commenced
raising blood in large quantities; I was taken down
sick and confined to the house for three months
j during wh : ch time 1 lost my appetite and fell away ,
very fast; I was then induced to consult Dr. Curtis
| of New \ ork, (one of the best physicians in the j
city,) but lie could do me no good. I again became (
I worse, and wa? confined to the house all last winter
1 and spring, and I gave tip all hope of ever getting
any better, as I again raised blood and my cough
! was very severe, together with a pain in my
! breast and under the shoulder blade. My friends
now gave up all hope of my recovering, and thought 1
I every day was the last. About this time 1 heard
i of your BALSAM OF LIVERWORT being good
| for consuntj lion, but I was like many others, and !
• was tearful that it might he a regular humbug; I i
! however finally consented to try it, as I thought ii
| could make me no worse. My*brother then pur
chsed a bottle of it at 375 Bowery, N. V., and I
commenced taking it. and by the time 1 had Used
i one bottle full I could sleep all night, and in the
I morning I had an appetite for my breakfast. I still
keep on taking it and find great benefit from it—the
! pain in my breast is entirely gone, and 1 raise no
more blood. Within the last two months I have
gained in weight .six pounds and much in strength.
I would therefore, advise ail who have any affec
tion of the Lungs or Liver to try the Genuine Dr.
Taylor’s Balsam of Liverwort, for I truly believe
it to be the best remedy in existence for diseases
of the Lungs or Liver. Should any one doubt the
above statement relative to your valuable medicine, ■
j let him call on me, and I will convince him of its
j virtues. Yours, respectfully, DE REVERE.

GRISWOLD’S IMPROVED COTTON
GINS.
rrHrE subscriber will continue the manufacture
- v - oi GINS on his usual extensive scale; and
embraces this opportunity to thank his numerous
customers for their liberal patronage heretofore.——
The estimation in which his Gins are held may be
known trom the fact of his having sold more than
two thousand within the last three years; probably
ten to one over any other factory in the State.—
This evidence of the superiority of his Gins, is ac
; counted for, by his being the first to introduce the
late improvements, and keeping the lead, by year
; ly adding new ones. His first and second improve
ments, made the quality of cotton perfect, though
some were rather slow, his third made them suffi
ciently fast, it then only remained to make them
more durable and convenient, which has been done
ellectually. by several new improvements the pre
sent year; besides, lie has the exclusive right of the
and the privilege of other sections, to furnish
Leed s Patent ater Boxes, which are believed to
be ten times more durable than any other, by those
w ho have made a fair trial of them, and are infalli
