The above remarks arc applicable to a greater portion oi the Colton growing region of Georgia and Carolina, and so far as Alabama has been heard from similar complaints are made. In Louisiana and Mississippi, the prospects lor a crop were good, but even in these two large Cotton S *tates serious fears were expressed about the crop in consequence of the backwardness of the season and the recent wet weather extrericnced. Our merchants have good stocks on hand, and in the course of a week or two we hope to have an improved business to notice. THE RIVER—-Is now in good boating order, with every prospect of continuing so for some time to come. There is still very little Cotton offering to Charleston or Savannah, and we have no change to notice in rates. A few hundred hales were taken yesterday tor export. We have revised our quotations.
