Biles, Pimples, Carbuncles, sr., Dyspepsia i and liver Complaint, Nervous Diseases, Dropsical Swellings, Constitutional Disorders and diseases ori- ■ ginafing from a depraved or Impute state of the ; Blood or other fluids of the body. The proprietor of this Alterative would most re- j Opefetfully assure the public that he has not offered this preparation to their notice without due reflec- i tion, and close and rigid study, nor until after swelve years’experience had manifested its great I auperioritv over every other article of the kind, — ! i,nd he now recommends it with confidence, fully i tdieving that the above combination of medicines ! will effectually eradicate from the system a class i of diseases some of which have heretofore been con sidered incurable. He has prescribed it in almost every variety of , diseases and with unparalleled success, especially in 1 cutaneous affections, cancerous, scrofulous and j scorbutic diseases, and diseases originating from obstruction or enlargement of tiie glands or impuri ty of the blood. Cancer and Cancerous Tamers. He has used this preparation in upwards of twen ty well defined cases of cancer and cancerous tu mors, and in every case but one with perfect and entire success. Broncliocele or Goitre, (Swelled Neck.) He has prescribed it in over a hundred cases of j goitre, and it has never failed in a single instance to completely remove the disease. Not a solitary case of failure. All were cured. ' The success he ha? ttiet with in curing broncho cele and cancerous affections has convinced him that these dangerous and horrible diseases may be removed with as much certainty us Fever and ‘Ague. He does not wish to be understood as sav ing that they can be cured ns soon as Fever and Ague, but with as much certainly; and further, that he has good reason for believing that this prepara tion will not only cure these diseases * hen formed, but that it destroys the Virus or poisonous principle lurking in the system, from which that peculiar class of diseases, as well as that of scrofula emanate, Scrofula—Xing’s Evil, This preparation has been used in numerous cases of scrofula, King’s Evil, and scrofulous swell ings, and always with the most decided success. Skin Diseases. He has prescribed it in a great variety of cutane ous affections, and found it successful in curing salt rheum or tetter, biles, blotches, pimples, morohew and jaundiced skin, Ac. Dyspepsia and Liver Complaint. It has been used in numerous cases of liver com plaint and Dyspepsia, and with the happiest effect. Tic-D ouloureux. It has been used in several cases of Neuralgia and in every case it was successful-. Rheumatism. This preparation has been prescribed in a "Teat many cases of chronic rheumatism, and in every case in which it was used until the system became affected by the medicine, the disease was removed. Gout. A number of cases of gout have been cured by this preparation. In one of these cases, the man had been attlicted with it so severely for thirteen years as to entirely disable him from business, and for five months immediately previous to his taking the Alterative he had been confined to his room; but before he had finished the third bottle, he was enabled to walk about the streets and soon after re turned to his business, from which he had so long been excluded by his affliction. D ropsical Bwellinefc. This medicine increases the powers of digestion excites the absorbents into healthy exercise, bv which watery or calcareous depositions, and all mi natural enlargemeats are reduced. It imparts tone and vitality to the whole system, removing sick and morbid headaches, giddiness, wandering pains and nervous affections. In fact, in every case where the medicine has been taken for some time, no matter for what pur pose, the general health of the patient has always been improved by it. la conclusion, the proprietor would say that some of the most astonishing cases of skin diseases, can cer, bronchocele, and scrofula, have been cured by this medicine, that have ever been recorded; but want of room in this sheet precludes their publica tion at this time. Cancer. .4 ? interesting case cured by Jayne's Alterative. In the spring of 1831, a cancerous tumor appear ed in the right breast of Mrs. Phoebe, wife of Peter Stretch, of Salem IV. J. It was examined by many Physicians, and was considered by all as cancerous, and besides bore ail the characteristic marks of one. All probable means of removing it were used without the slightest benefit. It continued to in crease both in size and painfulness, until ail hope of saving her life, but by a painful operation, was abandoned, which, after a consultation of eminent Physicians, was performed, Jan. Ist, 1832, by Dr. John Rhea Barton, assisted by Dr. Redman, the proprietor, and two other medical gentlemen. The whole and entire right breast was removed, and af ter examination of the tumor, was pronounced by ail present a cancer of the most malignant charac ter. In about three months, after enduring incredi ble sufferings, she was enabled, though broh*m in spirit, to get about again. She remained teeble, and her general health was exceedingly bad, as in deed it had been for several years before. In the spring of 1837, upwards of five years after her breast had been removed, a painful tumor made its ap pearance on the right side, immediately over the part formerly occupied by the nipple of the right breast, previous to its removal, This tumor steadi ly increased for several months, and became so painful as to deprive her of rest. The glands un der the right arm were enlarged; and scirrhus, and ahard. irregular, and at times painful tumour, ap peared in t!ie left breast. No operation could now arrest the disease. Indeed her whole body appear td to be a mass ol disease. Her case was consid ered hopeless. She was of a very scrofulous habit, eoth her parents having died of Pulmonary con bumplion. The experiment was now made with shis Alterative. It was at first given in small doses, three times a day, and the doses very gradually, but steadily increased daily, as long as’she took it, which was about six months, and the skin over and around the tumour was wet night and morning with a strong solution of lodine and Hydriodate Potash. The tumour continued increasing in size for about six weeks, and was at times very painful, when the pain suddenly ceased altogether, and the tumour swelled out at the base, and became soft, and then began to diminish, and continued gradually decreas ing until every vestige of disease was removed.— The tumour in her left breast, and those in her right exilla were also dispersed. No cancerous or scrofulous tumours ever appeared afterwards; and her general health, which had been so bad for four teen years as to make life a burthen, was effectu ally and permanently restored. The proprietor is in possession of the diseased breast, and those who choose may examine it. He would also say that he could mention over a dozen cases equally inter esting, wherein his Alterative has subdued cancer and cancerous tumours, but he has not room here; to record them. Mrs. Sarah Young, of Quinton’s Bridge, N. J., had a goitrous tumour on the left side of her windpipe, as large as the half of an orange, which was cured by using this Alterative for about four months. Miss R 8 , South Fourth-street, Phila delphia, was also cured ol an enlargement of the throat, which filled the entire space between the. chin and breast-bone, and extended around on each aide of her neck to behind her ears, and from her ears to her shoulders, and produced awful deformi ty. It commenced growing when she was but five years old, and continued gradually to increase un til she was nineteen, at which time she commenced using this Alterative, which she tooft for seven months, which entirely reduced the enlargement; and she has now as smooth i»nd pretty a neck as can be found. The proprietor is not at liberty to give her name in print, but will refer persons to her. For sale by WM. K. KITCHEN. sep 28 ly 2 Sole Agent for Georgia. BRUSHES. CHRISTIE'S GA L VANIC KINGS AND Magnetic Fluid riAHIS remarkable invention, which has received JL the almost universal approbation of the Medi cal Profession of Great Britain, comprises an en tirely new application of Galvanism, as a remedial agent, by means of which the ordinary Galvanic Batteries, Electric and Magnetic Machines, &c., are entirely dispensed with, and the mysterious powers of Galvanism applied without any of the objections which are inseparable from the general mode now in use. The strong doses, and at irreg ular intervals, in which Galvanism is applied by the Machines, has been pronounced after a fair and im ; partial trial, to lie decidedly injurious, and it was to remedy this radical detect, that this new applica tion was projected, which after unceasing toil and ! perseverance has been brought to its present state of perfection. The Galvanic Rings answer all the purposes of the most expensive Machines, and in j many other respects are more safe and certain in i accomplishing the desired effect. ! The Galvanic Kings, used in connection with the Magnetic Fluid, are confidently recommended in all disorders which arise from an enfeebled or un ' health.’/ state of the nervous or vital system, and those Complaints are among the most painful and univer sal to which we are subject. They arise, without : exception, to one single cause—a derangement of 1 the Nervous system—and ft Was in these cases that other “remedies” having so often failed, a new aaent was greatly needed, which it is confidently believed, has been found in the proper and judi j cioirs application of Galvanism The Galvanic Rings have been used with entire ! success in all eases of Rheumatism, acute or chronic, applying to the head, face or limbs: Gout. Ti£- Doloi eux. Toothache, Bronchitis, Vertigo, Nervous i or Sick Headache, Indigestion, Paralyses, Palsy, \ Epilepsy, Fits, Cramp, Palpitation, of the Heart. Ap i poph'.rv, Stiffness -of Joints, Spinal Complaints, J.ton ha 00, Neuralgia, Nerrovs Tremors, Dizziness of the Head, Pains in the Chest and Side, General Deb'd ity. Deficiency of Nervous and Physical Energy, and all Nervous Disorders. In cases of confirmed Dys pep'Sir. which is simply a nervous derangement of the digestive organs, they have been found equally successful. Their extraordinary effects upon the system must be witnessed to be believed, and as a certain Preventive for the preceding complaints they at e equally recommended. The Rings are of different prices, being made of all sizes, and of va rious ornamental patterns, and can be worn by the most delicate female without the slightest incon venience. In fact the sensation is rather agreea ble than otherwise. The Galvanic Kelts, Bracelets, Bands, Garters, Necklaces, «fcc. In some ca-es of a very severe character and of Ion? standing tfie power as applied by the Galvanic 1 Rings is not sufficient to arrest the progress of dis- I ease and ultimately to restore health. The improv- I ed modification in the Galvanic Pelts, Bracelets, Sfc., entirely remedies this objection ; any degree of power that is required can readily be Obtained, : and no complaint which the mysterious agent of Galvanism can effect will fail to be permanently re lieved. These articles are adapted to the waist.arms, wrists, limbs, ancles, nr any part of the body with perfect convenience. The Galvanic Necklaces, are used with greater benefit in cases of Bronchitis or affections of the throat generally; also in cases of Nervous Deafness; and with almost uniform success as a preventive for Apoplexy , Epileptic Fits, and similar complaints. CHRISTIE’S MAGNETIC FLUID. Is issued in connection with the Galvanic Rings , and ail their modifications. This composition has been pronounced by the French Chemists to be one of the most extraordinary discoveries of mod ern science. I* is believed to possess a remarkable power of rendering the Nerves sensitive to Galvanic ad in, by these means causing a circulation of the influence at the seat of disease, and thus giving ra pid and permanent relief. No other composition in chemistry is known to produce the same effect or to impart a similar property to the nervous system by means of an outward local application. The Magnetic Fluid contains nothing capable of the slightest injury, its application is agreeable, and it is as harmless in its action as it is beneficial in its result. The combined inventions are in everyway perfectly harmless ; they are at prices within reach of all, and the discoverer onlv requests a fair trial, as a test of their surprising efficacy aud permanent benefit. Christie’s Galvanic Strengthening Pias ters. These articles form another Valuable application and the mysterious influence of Galvanism. They are too important adjuncts to the genuine Galvanic Rings and their modifications, acting upon the same principle, but having this advantage of more local application. They are confidently recom mended as a valuable addition in the speedy cure of Rheumatism, acute or chronic ; in all nervous complaints, and as a positive remedy in cases of Pain and W eakness in the Chest or Back, Pain in the Side, Asthmatic A flections, and in Weakness or Oppression of thS Pulmonary Organs. In Spi nal Complaints, their effects are of the most decided character, and they have often been used with complete success. They are also of the greatest advantage in Pains and Vv'cakness of the Breast, and are highly recommended for manv of those complaints to which females are especially liable. As an effectual means for Strengthening the sys tem when debilitated by disease or other causes; as a certain aid in Constitutional Weakness, as a Preventive for Colds, and in ail affections of the Chest, generally, the Galvanic Strengthening Pias ter, will be found of great and permanent advantage. In a few words, it embraces ail the virtues of the best tonic preparation with the important addition of the Galvanic influence, which is neither impair ed or exhausted, while the action continues. These articles will be found entirely free from those ob jections which are a constant source of complaint with the ordinary Plasters in common use. (0 = Jb c great celebrity and success of these ar ticles have caused them to be counterfeited by un principled persons. To provide against impositions, Dr. Christie has but one authorized agent in each city of the Union. The only Agency in Augusta, Geo., is at the Store of HA VIE AND, RISLEY & CO., Druggists. It is useful in | billious complaints, to persons recovering from hil- ! lions fevers.and in sick or nervous head-ache. JOEL BRANHAM, Eatonton. Ga. Price §1 —For sole by A- G. W ILLIS. March 11 DR. LS ROY’S VEGETABLE UNIVERSAL PULES. THE startling drawback on nearly all Medicinal Agents has ever been that in their process of pur- ' gation and purification, they have also Debilitated I the System. Hence Purgative 3ledicines have al- ' ways been regarded as at best hut a Necessary Evil; Patients resorting to them for the relief of one disease at the expense of another. To obviate this, Physicians have long sought for an Agent that would at the same time PURGE PURIFY AND STRENGTHEN. But their efforts were nearly fruitless, and they had almost despaired of success when the labors of science ar.d research, were rewarded by a discov ery which fully realized the fondest desires of the .Medical Faculty, and which is justly regarded as one of the most important Triumphs that Pharmacy has ever achieved. This important desideratum is j named Dr. Le Roy’s Vegetable Universal Pills. Which Purify the Blood, and remove all corrupt ! and vitiated humors, and unhealth y accumulations from | the body in a manner never before rivalled, and | which yet produce no weakness or lassitude what i ever, hut on the contrary, tone the Stomach, and i invigorate the constitution during the progress of i their operation. Dr. Le Roy's Pills, in fact, unite ! those heretofore irreconcilable, but most desirable i qualities, Evacuation and Invigorafion, for they are at the same time a STRENGTHENING PURGA TIVE, AND A PURIFYING TONIC. The two paincipal ingredients in Dr. Le Roy's Pills are WILD CHERRY & SARSAPARILLA. So prepared that each promotes the beneficial ef fect of the other, the former strengthening, while the latter, through its union with various vegetable ingredients, evacuates and purifies; thus they su perinduce no torpidity or lassitude of the the Diges tive Functions, and hence their operations are at tended by no Re-action or Subsequent Costiveness. Dr. Le Roy's Pills are the most active and search ing 3ledicine in existence. They at once attack tha very root of Diseases, and their action is so prompt that in an hour or two after they are taken, the patient is aware of their good effects. They not only operate on the Blood, but also on the chyle, of which the Blood is formed, and this secures good blood from the fountain head, moreover, they pro duce neither nausea, griping or debility, and as a family medicine they have no rival.
