Not a solitary case of failure. All were cured. The success be has met with in curing broncho cele and cancerous affections has convinced him th at these dangerous and horrible diseases may he removed with as much certainty as Fever and Ague. He does not wish fu be understood as say- i mg that they can be cured os soon as Fe ver and Ague, hut v sth as much certainty; and further, that lie has good reason for believing that this prepara- ; Foil will not only cure these diseases when formed. 1 Tat that it destroys the virus or poisonous principle j 'lurking in the system, from which that peculiar ■ class of diseases, as well as that of scrofula emanate. In conclusion, the proprietor would say that some i of the most astonishing cases of skin diseases, can- 1 cer, bronchocele, and scrofula, have been cured by this medicine, that have ever been recorded; but want of room in this sheet precludes their publica tion at this time, Canosr. An interesting rase cured by Jayne's Alterative. I In the spring of 1831. a cancerous tumor appear ed in the right breast of Mrs. Phoebe, wife of Peter Stretch, of Salem N. J. It was examined by many Physicians, and was considered by all as cancerous, and besides bore all the characteristic marks of ; one. All probable means of removing it were used without the slightest benefit. It continued to in crease both in size and painfulncss, until all hope of saving her life, but by a painful operation, was abandoned, which, after a consultation of eminent Physicians, was performed, Jan Ist, 1832, by Dr. John Rhea Barton, assisted by Dr. Redman, the proprietor, and two other medical gentlemen. The whole and entire right breast was removed, and af ter examination of the tumor, was pronounced by all present a cancer of the most malignant charac ter. In about three months, after enduring incredi ble sufferings, she was enabled, though broken in spirit, to get about again. She remained feeble, and her general health was exceedingly bad, as in deed it had been for several years before. In tbe spring of 1837, upwards of live years after her breast had been removed, a painful tumor made its ap- | pearance on the right side, immediately over the | part formerly occupied by the nipple of the right breast, previous to its removal. This tumor steadi- ; ly increased for several months, and became so ! painful as to deprive he rof rest. The glands un der the right arm were enlarged; and scirrhus, and ahard, irregular, and at times painful tumour, ap- j peared in the left breast. No operation could now | arrest the disease. Indeed her whole body appear- | td to be a mass of disease. Her ca<=e was consid ered hopeless. She was of a very scrofulous habit, eoth her parents having died of Pulmonary con bumption. The experiment was now made with shis Alterative. It was at first given in small doses, three times a day, and the doses very gradually, but steadily increased daily, a> long as she took it, which was about six months, and the skin over and around the tumour was "wet night and morning with a strong solution of lodine and Hydriodate Potash. The tumour continued increasing in size for about six xveeks, and was at times very painful, when the pain suddenly ceased altogether, and the tumour swelled out at the base, and became soft, and then began to diminish, and comtifured gradually decreas ing until every vestige of disease was removed.— The tumour in her left breast, and those in her right exilla were also dispersed. No cancerous or scrofulous tumours eyer appeared afterwards; and her general health, which had been so had for four teen years as to make life a burthen, was effectu ally and permanently restored. The proprietor is in possession of the diseased breast, and those who choose may examine it. He would also say that he could mention over a dozen cases equally inter esting, wherein his Alterative has subdued cancer and cancerous he has not room here to record them. Mrs. Sarah Young, of Quinton’s Fridge, N. J., had a goitrous tumour on the left side of her windpipe, as large as the hallTl an orange, which was cured bV using this AiterflK r e for about four months. Miss lv S , South Fourth-street, Phila delphia, was also cured ol an enlargement of the throat, which filled the entire space between the t hin and breast-bone, and extended around on each side of her r eck to behind her ears, and from her *ars to her shoulders, and produced awful deformi ty. It commenced growing when she was but five years old, and continued gradually to increase un til she was nineteen, at which time 1 e commenced using this Alterative, which she took for seven paontlis, which entirely reduced the enlargement; and she has now as smooth and pretty a neck as can be found. The proprietor F not at liberty to give her name in print, but will refer persons to her. For sale by WM. K. KITCHEN. sep 28 ly 2 Sole Agent for Georgia. BRUSHES. IT VERY variety of Hair. Tooth. THE startling drawback on nearly all Medicinal Agents has ever been that in their process of pur gation and purification, they have also Debilitated j the System. Hence Purgative Medicines have al | ways been regarded as at best but a Necessary j Frit; Patients resorting to them for the relief of j one disease at the expense of another. To obviate this. Physicians have long sought for an Agent that | would at the same time Purge purify and strengthen. But their effßfD ‘Jrefe nearly fruitless, and thev had almost despaired ol success when the labors of | science and research, were rewarded by a discov ery which fully realized the ,fondest desires of the Medical Faculty, and which is justly regarded as one of tbe most important Triumphs that Pharmacy has ever achieved. This important desideratum is ; named Dr. Lc Hoy’s Vegetable Universal Pills. AVh icli Rurify the Blood, and remove ail rorrrjj j and vitiated humors, and unhealth y accumulations from | the body in a manner never before rivalled, and I which yet produce no weakness or lahsftude what- I ever, but on the contrary, tone the Stomach, and { invigorate the constitution during the progress cf 1 their operation. Dr. Le Roy’s Pills, in fact, unite thO'C heretofore irreconcilable, but most desirable qualities, Evacuation and lurioorntion, for they are at the same time aSTRENGTHENING PURGA TIVE, AND A PURIFYING TONIC. 7he two paincipai ingredients in Dr. Le Roy’s Pills are WILD CHERRY & SARSAPARILLA. So prepared that each promotes the beneficial es- j feet of the other, the former strengthening, while the latter, through its union with various vegetable ingredients, evacuates and purifies; thus they su perinduce no torpidity or lassitude of the tbe Diges tive Functions, and hence their operations are at tended by no Re-action or Subsequent Costiveness. Dr. Le Roy’s Pills are the most active and search ing Medicine in existence. 7’hey at once attack the very root of Diseases, and their action is so prompt that in an hour or two after they are taken, the patient is aware of their good effects. 7’hey j not onlv operate on the Blood, but also on the chyle, ■ of which the Blood is formed, and this secures good blood from the fountain head, moreover, they pro duce neither nausea, griping or debility, and as a family medicine they have no rival. GALVANIC RIN GS A ND Magnetic Fluid. fIAIIIS remarkable invention, which has received E the almost universal approbation of the Medi eal Profession of Great Britain, comprises an en tirely new application of Galvanism, as a remedial ■urenGby means of which the ordinary Galvanic Batleipcs, Electric and Magnetic Machines, Ac., are entirely dispensed with, and tiie mysterious powers of Galvanism applied without any of the objections which are inseparable from the general mode now in use. The strong doses, and at irreg ular intervals, in which Galvanism is applied by the Machines, has been pronounced after a fair and im partial trial, to he decidedly infu nous, and’it was to remedy this radical defect, that this new applica tion was projected, which after unceasing toil and perseverance has been brought to iis present state of perfection. The Galvanic Kings answer all the purposes of the most expensive Machines, and in many other respects are more safe and certain in accomplishing the desired effect. 'The Galconic Rings, used in connection with the Magnetic Fluid, are confidently recommended in all disorders which arise from an enfeebled nr un healthy state of the nervous or vital system, and those complaints are among the most painful and univer sal to which we are subject. They arise, without exception, to one single came—a derangement of the Nervous system —and it was in these cases that other “ remedies ” having so often failed, a new agent was greatly needed, which it. is confidently believed, has been found in the proper and judi cious application of Galvanism. The Galvanic Kings have been used with entire success in all cases of Rheumatism, acute or chronic, applying to the head, face or limbs: Gout, Tic- Doloreux , Toothache, Bronchitis, Vertigo, Nervous or Fid: Headache , Indigestion, Paralyses, Palsy, Epilepsy, Fils, Cramp, Palpitation of the Heart, Ap poplexif. Stiffness of Joints, Spinal Coin] faints, Lum bago, Neuralgia, Ncrvocs Tremors, Dizziness of the Head, Pains in the Chest and Side. General Debil itn. Deficiency of Nervous and Physical Energy, and nil Nervous Disorders. In cases of confirmed Dys pepsia. which is simply a nervous derangement of ihe digestive organs, they have been found equally "successful. Their extraordinary effects upon the system be witnessed to lie believed, and as a certain Pre vent ire for the preceding complaints they are equally recommended. The Rings are of different prices, being made of all sizes, and of va lous’ornamentrd patterns, and can be worn by the most delicate female without the slightest incon venience. In fact the sensation is rather agreea ble than otherwise. The Galvanic Kelts, bracelets, Bauds, Garters, Necklaces, &C. In some cases of a very severe character and of long standing the power as applied by the Galvanic Rings is not sufficient to arrest tiie progress of dis ease and ultimately to restore health. The ini prov ed modification in the 'Galvanic lie, lts, Bracelets, A r., entirely remedies this objection 3 any degree of powtr that is required can readily be obtained, and no complaint \\ hich the. mysterious agent of Galvanism can effect will fail to'be permanently re lieved. These articles are adapted to the waist, arms, wrists, limbs, ancles, op any part of the body with perfect convenience. The Galvanic Necklace. t, are used with greater benefit in cases of Bronchitis or affections of the throat generally 3 also in cases of Nerrcn>s Deafhess.; and with almost uniform success as a preventive Tor A pry I ry, Ejrilptic Fits, and similar complaints. . .. MAGNETIC FLUID. Is issued in connection with the Galvanic Rings, and all their modifications. This composition has ; been pronounced by fre French Chemists to he 1 one of the rtiost extraordinary discoveries of mod ern science It is believed to possess a remarkable I power of rendering the Nerves sensitive to Galvanic action, by these means causing a circulation of the influence at the seat of disease, and thus giving ra pid and permanent .relief. ; No other composition in chemistry is known to produce the sapie effect or to impart a similar property to the nervous system by means of an outward local application. The Magnetic Fluid contains nothing, capable of the slightest injury, its application Is agreeable, amd it is us harmless in its action as it Ts Jmneficial in its result. The combined are in. every way perfectly harmless; they are at prices within reach of all, and the discoverer only requests a fair trial, us a test of their surprising efficacy and permanent •benefit. . v, Christie’s Galvanic Strengthening Flat ters. I These articVs form another valuable application j and the mysterious influence of Galvanism. They I are too important adjuncts to the genuine Galvanic Rings and their modifications, acting upon the ; same principle, hut having .‘his advantage of more | local application. They "are confidently recom mended us a‘valuable addition in the speedy cure of Rheumatism, acute or chronic ; in all nervous complaints, and as a positive remedy in cases of Tain and Weakness in the Chest or Back, Tain in the Side, Asthmatic Affections, and in Weakness or Oppression of the Pulmonary Organs. In Spi nal Complaints, their effects are of .the most decided character, and they have often been used witu complete success. They are also of the greatest i advantage in Tains and Weakness of the Breast, 1 and are highly recommended for many of those I complaints to which females are especially liable, i As an effectual means for Strengthening the sys i tem when debilitated by disease or other causes; I as a certain aid in Constitutional Weakness, as a Preventive for Golds, and in all a dec'ions of the Chest, generally, the Galvanic Strengthening Plas : ter, will be found of great an»i permanent advantage. In a few words, it embraces all the virtues of the best tonic preparation with the important addition of the Galvanic influence, which is neither impair ed or exhausted, while the action continues. Having heard that Sherman's Lozenges were good for a coughs 1 tried a few boxes of them, but they had not the least effect on me. 1 then called in the best physicians in Che place, who attended me a few months, but without success; I then saw an ad vertisement in one of the city papers of Wistars Balsam of Wild Cherry, of which 1 purchased three bottles, at the corner of Fulton and Nassau streets, but 1 could not perceive.the least beneficial effect I from it, on the contrary 1 think it was a great in j jury to me. Shortly after using it, 1 commenced 1 raising blood in large quantities; I was taken down sick and confined to the house for three months, during which time 1 lost my appetite and fell away very fast; I was then induced to consult Dr. Curtis of New York, (one of the best physicians in the city,) but he could do me no good. 1 again became worse, and was confined to the house all last winter and spring, and I gave up all hope of ever getting any better, as I again raised blood and my cough was very severe, together with a pain in my breast and under the shoulder blade. My friends now gave up all hope of my recovering, and thought every day was the last. About this time I heard of your BALSAM OF LIVERWORT being good for consumption, but I was like many others, and ’ was fearful that It might be a regular humbug; I however finally consented to try it, as I thought it could make me no worse. My brother then pur ’ chsed a bottle of it at 375 Bowery, N . Y., and I commenced taking it, and by the time 1 had used one bottle full I could sleep all night, and in the morning I had an appetitq for my breakfast. 1 still keep on taking it and find great benefit from it—the pain in my breast is entirely gone, and F raise no more blood. Within the last two months I have gained in weight six pounds and much in strength. 1 would therefore, advise all who have any arfec • tion of the Lungs or Liver to try the Genuine Dr. Taylor’s Balsam of Liverwort, for 1 truly believe it to be the best remedy in existence for diseases > of the Lungs or Liver. Should any one doubt the above statement relative to your valuable medicine, I let him call on me, and I will convince him of its ! virtues. Yours, respectfully, DE REVERE.
