Every Body Praises Jayac’s Hair Tonic-
And for the best reason in the word, because it
is the only hope that the hald-head can have of once
more regaining the full flowing locks of hair with
which nature adorned their heads in youth, which
it does to the admiration of all who use it as di
rected. Iry it, all of you who need more or hand
some hear. It is the very thing for you.
Worms I Worms! Worms!
To remove those troublesome and dangerous in- (
habitants ot the.stomach and bowels, which so often
impair the health and destroy the lives of children,
use Jayne’s Tonic Vekmifcge, a certain and safe
preparation for the removal of the various kinds of
worms, dyspepsia, sour stomach, want of appetite,
infantile fever and ague, and debility of the stom
ach and bowels and organs of digestion. It is with
out exception one of the most valuable preparations
in the world.
Hear Dr. Higby's Opinion.
Dr. I. J. Iligby, 3lilwaukie, W. T., Nov. 1 1845,
writes to Dr. Jayne, and says, Your Carminative
Balsam, Hair Dye, and Hair Tonic, all go well, and
the Balsam goes finely. It has saved many lives
this season. I had to get twice supplied from New
York in September last. I shall want of you at
least 200 bottles. I have on sale, and have seen
,tried many of the “crack articles” for this Bilious
Diarrhoea, which we are subject to; and of all, yours
is invaluable. I could get $5 per bottle for it, if it
could not be had for less, and any quantity of cer
tificates of the strongest kind. These Diarrhoeas
are the worst diseases we have here, and your Bal
sam is the only thing that cures them.
Prepared only by Dr. Jayne, Philadelphia, and
sold on agency by
August 6 W. K. KITCHEN, Augusta.
Where may be had Jayne’s Ague Pills, which
never fail to cure FEVER AND AGUE.

our last. Indeed there has been scarcely enough
doing to establish quotations, as the receipts are
very light, and none offering from ware-houses.
The few sales made have been at 10toll£.
CHARLESTON, August s.— Cotthn.— -The Up
land market yesterday received a fresh impulse,
through the Hibernia’s accounts, which reached us
ty the Northern mail. Several purchasers made
their appearance, but holders generally asking an
advance exceeding their expectations, only about
825 bales were sold by two factors, at prices rang
ing from 1a cents, an adv ance of fully £ cent
*6n the rates of the previous dav.
Salt. —lsoo sacks Liverpool arrived on Tuesday,
sold afloat at $1 per sack.
NEW-ORLEAN3, —'-(dot tan. —Arrived
rince the 23d instant 1096 bales Cleared in the
same time 22.730 bales—-making a reduction in
stock of 21,640 bales, and leaving on hand, inclu
sive of all on ship-board not cleared on the 30th
?nst., a stock of 68,955 bales.
Our last weekly report left the Cotton market in
a rather quiet state, there being ftw buyers dis
posed to operate until advised further of the state
of the European markets. Early on Saturday a
more active inquiry manifested itself, and continu
ed throughout the day, fully 7000 bales having ;
Vhanged hands, at full prices, though without any
positive advance upen the rates previously current.
These operations led to the impression that the
Britannia's accounts had been received by private
express, and the correctness of this conjecture was
made manifest by the publication of the news on
Sunday morning, by which it appeared that the
Liverpool Cotton market had advanced |d. per lb.
tin Monday the letters and commercial circulars
■came through, confirming this advance, and pre
senting other favorable and encouraging features
7h regard to the trade in our great staple. The ten
■or of these advices induced holders at once to ad
vance their asking rates about $ a h a cent per lb., .
which in some measure checked operations, though
buyfefs still came forward pretty freely, and the
aales of Monday reachedsooobales, at the advance
claimed. Since then the daily sales have been as ’
follows, viz : On Tuesday 1800, Wednesday 6500,
Thursday 2500, and yesterday 1200. the market
closing at a further advance of | a A a cent per lb.
1 he whole advance since the receipt of the steam
er’s news is computed to be J of a ct. per lb, on Lou
isiana and Mississippi Cottons, and 1 cent on North
Alabama? amd Tennessee?, which latter have met
with more attention than at any previons period of
the season. The total sales of the week sum up
24,000 hale-, the greater part of which has been
taken for England, with some parcels for the Con
tinent and the North; and to t 1 is large reduction of
the stock on sale, togethhr with the very full prices
demanded by holders, the rainy weather and some
difficulty in effecting freight engagements, must be
attributed the limited business of yesterday.
