first Tuesday oflbe month, between the usual hours o
sale, at the place of public sales in the county where

Georgia.

Black Population of each County in the State.
Names of Clerks and Sheriffs of each County.
Names ot County Towns, and Distances from
Milledgeville.
The Electoral Returns of each County, for Presi
.dent in 1814} and also ol the same for Governor, in
1815.
The Electoral Vote of each State for President,
in 1814. The latter tables w ill prove particularly
valuable during the Presidential campaign at’ 1818.
Together with a variety of other matters of equal
interest and importance.
The Almanac will be ready for Delivery in Sep
tember ; but all orders for the sajne should be made
by the first of June, as the Edition will be limited
to the amount of orders received by that day.

AN ACT
TO alter and amend the third section of the se
cond article of the Constitution of the State.
Whereas, The Third Section of the Second Arti
cle of the Constitution of this State reads in the
following words, to-wit >—No personshail be eli
gible to the Office of Governor who shall not
have been a citizen of the United States twelve
years, and an inhabitant of this State six years,
and who has not attained to the age of thirty
years, and who does not possess five hundred
acres of land in his own right within the State,
and other property to the amount of four thousand
dollars, and whose estate shall not on a reasona
ble estimation, be competent to the discharge of
his just debts over and above that sum—and
whereas, said property qualification is inconsist
ent with the genius of our institutions and the
popular spirit of the age —
Section I. Be it enacted by the Senate and House
of Representatives, of the State of Georgia, in Gen
eral Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the au
thority of the same, That so soon as this Act shall
have passed, agreeable to the requirements of the
Constitution, the following shall be adopted in lien
of the Section above recited, to-wit-No person
shall be eligible to the Office of Governor who shall
not have been a citizen of the United States twelve
years and an inhabitant of this State six years, and
who hath not attained the age of thirty-years.—
