I.AtEST DATES FROM LIVERPOOL* AUG. 3 LATEST DATES FROM IIAVR3 JULY 31 By IVIRS-actic Telegraph. fTRA vsviITTED FOR THE AMERICAS.] NEW YORK, Aug. 23 I — 6 P. M— There is 1 but little life nr activity in the Flour market, the prices bavin" not become fully settled yet under the Cambria’s news. The sales to-day amounted tooOOo bbls. Ohio, Michigan, and Oswego at $3. 62£ a 5.76. Seine small lots of Genesee were sold at $5.75. Southern’ is held at $6 a *6 12£. Wheat continues firm at 130 for Genesee, 100 for ■ red Western, and 113 a 125 for white and red North Carolina. The sales have not beeu very heavy. There is not much doing in Cotton, and the mar ket continues to favor the buyers. There was about 1000 bales sold to-day. Corn has been rather dull of sale to-day, and the demand has not been very great. About 10,000 bush, were sold at74cts for mixed, and 77 for yel low. NEW ORLEANS, Aug. 21.— Cotton. —Arrived since the 13th instant, of Louisiana and Mississippi *66 bales, Tennessee 91, Mobile 127; together 434 ! bales. Cleared in the same time for Liverpool 6277 bales, Havre 1141, Bordeaux 101, Barcelona 66( : , Tampico 330, New York 338, Philadelphia 103; together 7856 bales—making a reduction in stock of 7372 bales, and leaving on hand, inclusive of all , on ship board not cleared on the 20th inst., a stock ot 35, JdO bales. We left the Cotton market, on Friday, last in a ' cry quiet state, though firm as regarded prices, particularly for Louisian as and M ississippis. Since then the business has amounted to about 5000 bales, taken mostly for England, France and the North, the greater part, of which was sold on Saturday ; and .Monday, In regard to prices we find the mar k t fully sustained, particularly lor Lonisianas and \ Wississippis, o which the demand is almost entire- i !y confined, and indeed most of the sales are at | oar outside range of quotations. The stock now actually on sale is estimated not to exceed 5000 bales, including all descriptions, and the whole quantity yet to be disposed of, including lots held under limits, is probably about 10,000 bales. The receipts of new crop this week have been 117 bale.'-, i making a total of 134 bales, againsts bales at same I date last year; and there have been sold since the j first two bales, which we mentioned in our last, | twelve bales, as far as we are advised, viz : 2 bales | at 13, 2 do at 15, and 8 do. at a price made pub- i lie. The arrivals thus far promise well for the quality of the crop, being generally—with the ex ception of some of theiirst few bales, which were badly cut in ginning—fully Fail to Good Fair; and one bale in particular, which we noticed, is as fine. | Cotton as is usually received at any period oi the season. A tothcr week has passed with highly favorable ve..th; r for matur.ag and gathering the crops, and we are happy to stale that the prospects of the Jflanter are much more cheering than was appre ic ided some two weeks since. The worms that have appeared are said to have confined their ope rations almost entirely to the grass, and the fears entertained respecting the return of tiie caterpil lar have in a great degree subsided.
