Broncliocele or Goitre, (Swelled Neck.) He has prescribed it in over a hundred cases of goitre, and it has never failed In a single instance to i completely remove the disease. -Not a solitary ease of failure. All were cured. The success he has met with in curing broncho- j cclc and cancerous affections has convinced him that these dangerous and horrible diseases may be j removed with as much certainty as Fever and Ague. He does not wish to be understood as say ing that they can be cured as soon as Fever and Ague, hut with as much certainty; and further, that be has good reason for believing that this prepara tion will not only cure those diseases when formed, hut that it destroys the virus or poisonous principle j lurking in the system, from which that peculiar class of diseases, as well as that of scrofula emanate Scrofula—Xing’s Evil. This preparation has been used in numerous eases of scrofula, King’s Evil, and scrofulous swell ings, and always with the most decided success. Skin Diseases. G out. A number of cases of gout have been cured by | tliis preparation. In one of these cases, tlie man | had been afflicted with it so severely for thirteen years as to entirely disable him from business, and ; for five months immediately previous to his taking the Alterative he had been confined to his room; but before he had finished the third bottle, he was : enabled to walk about the streets and soon after re- i turned to his business, frond Which he had so long ! been excluded by his affliction; Dropsical Swellings. In fact, in every case where the medicine has been taken for some time, no matter for what pur pose, the general health of the patient has always been improved by it. In conclusion, the proprietor would say that some of the most astonishing cases of skin diseases, can cer, bronchocele. and scrofula, have been cured by this medicine, that have ever been recorded; but want of room in this sheet precludes their publica tion at this time. Cancer. A.n interesting rase, cured. Iny Jatjiic'S Alterative. In the spring of 1831, a cancerous tumor appear ed in the right breast of Mrs. Phucbe, wife of Peter .Stretch, of Salem N. ,T. It was examined by many Physicians, and was considered by all as cancerous, and besides bore all the characteristic marks of one. AU probable means of removing it were used without the slightest benefit. It continued to in crease both in size and painfulness, until all hope of saving her life, but by a painful operation, was abandoned, which, after a consultation of eminent Physicians, was performed, Jan. Ist, 1832, by Dr. .John Rhea Barton, assisted by Dr. Redman, the p oprietnr, and two other medical gentlemen. The waole and entire right breast was removed, and af ter examination of the tumor, was pronounced by all present a cancer of the most malignant charac ter. In aliout three months, after enduring incredi ble sufferings, she was enabled, though broken in spirit, to get about again. IShe remained feeble, and her general health was exceedingly bad, as in deed it had been for several years before. In the spring of 1837, upwards of five years after her breast had been removed, a painful tumor made its ap pearance on the right side, immediately over the part formerly occupied by the nipple of the right breast, previous to its removal. This tumor steadi ly increased for several months, and became so painful as to deprive her of rest. The glands un der the right arm were enlarged; and scirrhus, and ahard. irregular, and at times painful tumour, ap peared in the left breast. No operation could now a great the disease. Indeed her whole body appear td to he a mass of disease. Her case was consid ered hopeless. She was of a very scrofulous habit, e-oth her parents having died of Pulmonary con- Immption, The experiment was now made with shis Alterative. It was at first given in small doses, three times a day, and the doses very gradually, but steadily increased daily, as long as she took it. which was about six months, and the skin over and around the tumour was wet night and morning with a strong solution of lodine and Hydriodute Potash. The tumour continued increasing in size for about six weeks, and was at times very painful, when the pain suddenly ceased altogether, and the tumour swelled out at the base, and became soft, and then began to diminish, and continued gradually decreas- ; ing until every vestige of disease was removed.— The tumour in her left breast, and those in her rio-ht exilia were also dispersed. No cancerous or scrofulous tumours ever appeared afterwards; and her genera) health, which had been so bad for four teen years as to make life a burthen, was effectu ally and permanently restored. The proprietor is in possession of the diseased breast, and those who choose may examine it. He would also say that he could mention over a dozen cases equally inter esting, wherein his Alterative has subdued cancer j and cancerous tumours, hut he has not room here to record them. Mrs. Sarah Young, of Quinton’s Bridge, N. J.. had a goitrous tumour on the left side of her windpipe, as largo as the hall ot an.orange, which was cured bv usingthis Alterative for about four months. ' Mtss It S——, South Fourth-street, Phil a dclphiu, was also cured ol an enlargement of the throat', which filled tlm entire space between the ehin and breast-bone, and extended around on each side of her neck to behind her ears, and from her cars to her shoulders, and produced awful deformi- I iv. It commenced growing when she was but five vca rs old, and continued gradually to increase un til she was nineteen, at which time &hc commenced using this Alterative, which she took for seven months, which entirely reduced the enlargement; and she has now as smooth and pretty a neck as oan , be found. Y, U1 IST those be who have Pulmonary Consump j -T l. tion, or any affection of the Lungs, Liver or Chest, after reading the following letter, jnst re ceived from a most respectable inhabitant of West chester County New York. Tarrvtown, Ang. 9, 1814. Dear Doctor—lt is difficult to find words to ex press the gratitude which I feel towards you for the interest you have taken to relieve me in mv distress. In the year 1842 I contracted a heavy cold, which finally settled on my lungs; in a few ! months :ifter, I commenced coughing and raising i offensive matter, which smelt very bad. Having heard that Sherman’s Lozenges wore good lor a | coughs I tried a few boxes of them, but they had i not tire least effect on me. J then called in the I best physicians in the place, who attended me a few months, but without success; I then saw an ad vertisement in one of the city papers of VVistar’s Balsam of Wild Cherry, of which I purchased three j bottles, at the corner of Fulton and Nassau streets, but 1 could not perceive the least beneficial effect i from it, on the contrary I think it was a great iu-. jurv to me. Shortly after using it, 1 commenced raising blood in large quantities; I was taken down i sick and confuted to the house for three months, | during which time I lost my appetite and fell away very fast; I was then induced to consult Dr. Curtis of New York, (one of the best physicians in the citv.) but he could do me no good. 1 again became worse, and was confined to the house all last winter ! and spring, and 1 gave up all hope of ever getting any better, as I again raised blood and my cough was very severe, together with a paiu in my breast and under the shoulder blade. My friends now gave tip all hope of ray recovering, and thought every day was the last. About this time I heard of your BALSAM OF LIVERWORT being good for assumption, but 1 was like many others, and was fearful that it might be a regular humbug; I however finally consented to try it, as 1 thought it could make me no worse. My brother then pur. I chsed a bhttle of it at 375 BoWerv, N. Y., and commenced taking it, and by the time 1 had used one bottle full I could sleep all night, and in the I morning 1 had an appetite for my breakfast. I still keep on taking it and find great benefit from it —the i pain in mv breast is entirely gone, and I raise no more blood. Within the lass two months I have trained in weight six pounds and much in strength. 1 would therefore, advise all who have any affec j tion of the Lungs or Liver to try the Genuine Dr. | Taylor’s Balaam of Liverwort, for I truly believe it to be the best remedy in existence for diseases of the Lungs or. Liver. Should any one doubt the . above statement relative to your valuable medicine, let him call on me. and I will convince him of its virtues. Yours, respectfully, DL REVERE. GALVANIC RINGS AND Magnetic Fluid ESAKIS remarkable invention, which has received i the almost universal approbation of the Medi cal Profession of Great Britain, comprises an en tirely new application of Galvanism, as a remedial agent, by means of which the ordinary Galvanic ; Batteries, Electric and Magnetic Machines, Ac.. are entirely dispensed with, and the mysterious | powers of Galvanism applied without any of the 1 objections which are inseparable from the general j mode now in use. The strong doses, and at irreg ular intervals, in which Galvanism is applied bv the Machines, has been pronounced after a fair and im partial trial, to be decidedly injurious, and it was to \ remedy this indjcal defect, that this new applica tion was projected, which after unceasing toil and 1 perseverance has been brought to its present state ! of perfection. ; The (rdhauic Pings answer .ill the purposes of the most expensive Machines, and in many other respects are.more safe and certain in accomplishing tlie desired effect/ i he Galvanic Rings, used in connection with the Magnetic Fluid. are confidently recommended in | all disorders which arise from an enfeebled or uri j healthy state of the nervous or vital system. And those ! complaints are among the most painful and univer sal to which we are subject. They arise, without exception, to one single cause—a derangement of the Nervous system —and it was in these cases that other “remedies” having so often failed, a new agent was greatly needed, which it is confidently believed, has been found in the proper and judi cious application of Galvanism. The Galvanic Rings have been used with entire success in all cases of Rheumatism, acute or chronic, applying to the head, face or limbs; Goat, Tic- Do/oreusr, Toothache, Bronchitis , Vertigo, Nervous nr Sick Headache, Indigestion, Paralyses, Palsy, Epilepsy, Pits, Cramp. Palpitation of the Heart, Ap poplexy. Stiffness of .funds, Spinal Complaints, Lum i bo go, Neuralgia. Nen'ovs Tremors, Dizziness of the Head. Pains in the Chest and Side. General Debil ity, Deficiency of Nervous and Physical Energy, and all Nervous Disorders. In cases of confirmed Dys pepsia, which is simply a nervous derangement of the digestive organs, t.tey have been found equally successful. Their extraordinary effects upon the system must be witnessed to be believed, and as a certain Preventive for the preceding complaints they are equally recommended. The Rings are of different prices, being made of all sizes, and of va rious ornamental patterns, and cun be worn by the most delicate female without the slightest incon venience. In fact the sensation is rather agreea ble than otherwise. The Galvanic Belts, Bracelets, Bands, Garters, Necklaces, Ac. In some cases of a very severe character and of long standing the power as applied by the Galvanic Rings is not sufficient 10 arrest the progress of dis- I ease and ultimately to restore health. The improv ed modification in the Galvanic Pelts, Bracelets. S\-c., entirely remedies this objection ; any degree j of power that is required can readily he obtained, and no Complaint which the mysterious agent of Galvanism can effect w ill fail to he permanently re ! lieved. These articles are adapted to the waist, arms, wrists, limbs, ancles, or any part of the body with | perfect convenience; The Galvanic Necklaces , are used with greater benefit in cases of Bronchitis or affections of the throat generally ; also in cases of Nervous Deafness; and with almost uniform success i as a preventive for Apoplexy, Epileptic Fits, and j similar complaints. ~. 4 , . CHRISTIE’S M AGNETIC FLUID. Is issued in connection with the Galvanic Rings, and all their modifications. This composition has been pronounced by the French Chemists to he one of the most extraordinary discoveries of mod ern science. It is believed to possess a remarkable power of rendering the Nerves sensitive to Galvanic action, bv these means 'rmerrrg f* cimdajioa of the the seat of disease, and thus giving ra pid and permanent relief. No other composition in chemistry is known to produce the same effect or to impart a similar property to llie nervous system bv means of an outward local application. The ; Magnetic Fluid contains nothing capable of the I slightest injuryj its application is agreeable, and it is as harmless in its action as b L beneficial in its result. The combined inventions aie in every way perfectly harmless , they are at prices within reach of all. and the discoverer drdv requests a fair trial, as a test of their surprising efficacy and permanent ■ benefit. TN offering tliis valuable medicine to the people a of Georgia, for the relief and cure of many dis eases incident to a {Southern climate, 1 do not claim for it infallibility; neither do I say it will cure all diseases. But in Chronic Liver Affections and Dyspepsia, I can confidently advise and recom- | mend its use. from my personal observation and use of the article in my own practice. This article is | favorably received wherever it has been used. I am allowed to refer to Mr. George Heard of Troup, i Mr. John Warren of Columbus, Mr. McKaffee of j Cobb, Mr. Asburv Hull of Athens, Mr. William D. Terrell of Putnam, Rev. John E. Dawson of La- j grange; to which a great number of names might I he added, who bear their testimony to its value.— j Dr Henry Branham lias used this medicine iu his i own case, arid has prescribed it to many others, gives it as his opinion, that it is one of the safest i i and most valuable medicines that can he used in imperfect digestion, liver complaints, constipation I and irregular state of the bowels. It is useful in ! billions complaints, to persons recovering from bil lions fevers.and in sick dr nervous bead-ache. To j pregnant women, who are subject to costiveness, ' this rrfe.licine is well suited. In regulating the state of the stomach and bowels, and promoting digestion, it is particularly useful. 1 could append a long list of certificates, but for bear, prefering to rely on the virtues of the medi cine to sustain itself. The medicine is a gentle and certain cathartic, tonic and sudorific. JOEL BRANHAM, Eg ton ton, Ga. Price $.1 —For sale by A. G. WILLIS. March I! DR. T.T. T'O'V'c; • VEGETA RLE UNIVERSAL PILLS. j THE startling drawback on nearly all Medicinal Agents lias ever been tinrt m their process of pur ration and purification, tliev have also Debilitated the System. Hence Purgative Medicines have al : ways been regarded as at best hut a Necessary Evil ; Patients resorting to them tor the relief of one disease at the expense of another. To obviate this, Physicians have long sought for an Agent that would at the same time PURGE PURIFY AND STRENGTHEN. But their vfi'wts were nea'rly fruitless, and thev had almost despaired of success when the labors ot science and research, were rewarded hv a discov ery which fully realized the fondest desires of the Medical Faculty, and which is justly regarded as one of the most important 'Friuniphs thwt Pharmacy lias ever achieved. This important desideratum is named Dr. Le Roy’s Vegetable Universal Pills, W hich Purify the Blood, and remove all corrupt and vitiated humors, and unhealthy accumulations from the body in a manner never before rivalled, and which yet produce no weakness or lassitude what -1 ever, hut on the contrary, tone the Stomach, and invigorate the constitution during the progress of their operation. Dr. Le Roy’s Pills, in fact, unite those heretofore irreconcilable, but most desirable qualities, Evacuation and Incur or at ion, for thev are at the same time a STRENGTHENING PURGA TIVE, AND A PURIFYING TONIC. 'I he two paiucipal ingredients in Dr. Le Roy’s WILD CHERRY Ar SARSAPARILLA. So prepared that each promotes the beneficial ef fect of the oilier, the former strengthening, while the latter, through its union with various vegetable ingredients, evacuates and purifies; thus they su perinduce no torpidity or lassitude of the the Diges tive Functions, and hence their operations are at- | tended by no Re-action or Subsequent Costiveness. Dr. Le Roy ’s Pills are the most active and search ing Medicine in existence. They at once attack the very root of Diseases, and their action is so j prompt that in an hour or two after they are taken, : the patient is aware of their good effects. They not only operate on the Blood, but also on the chyle, 1 of which the Blood*is formed, and this secures good blood from the fountain head, moreover, they pro duce neither nausea, griping or debility, and as a family medicine they have no rival.
