Bronchocele or Goitre, (Swelled Neck.) He has prescribed it in over a hundred cases of J goitre, and it has never failed in a single instance to completely remove the disease. JNot a solitary case of failure. All were cured. The success he has met with in curing broncho ccle and cancerous affections has convinced him that these dangerous and horrible diseases may be | removed with as much certainty as Fever and A w uc. He does not wish to be understood as say ing that they can be cured as soon as Fever anti Ague, hut with as much certainty; and further, that he has good reason for believing that this prepara tion will not only cure these diseases when formed. ; but that it destroys the virus or poisonous principle j lurking in the system, from which that peculiar class of diseases, as well as that of scrofula emanate Scrofula —King’s Evil. This preparation has been used in numerous cases of scrofula, King’s Evil, and scrofulous swell- j ing«. and always with the most decided success. ; Skin Diseases. In fact, in every case where the medicine has been taken for some time, no matter for what pur pose, the general health ol the patient has always been improved by it. In conclusion, the proprietor would say that some of the most astonishing cases of skin diseases, can cer bronchocele, and scrofula, h ive been cured by this medicine, that have ever been recorded; but want of room in this sheet precludes their publica tion at thi; time. Cam3r. An interesting case cured hy Jayne’s Alterative. In the sp dng of 1831, a c mcero is tumor appear ed in the ri rht breast of M s. Ph ebe. wife of Peter Stretch, of Salem N. J. It was examined by many Physicia is, and was considered by all as cancerous, and besides bore ail the characteristic marks o* one. All pr ibable means of removing it were usei ! without the slightest benefit. It continued to in crease both in size and painfnlness, until all hop< ! of savin l ’- h t life, but by a painful operation, wa abandoned, which, af.er a consultation eminen 1 Pays o.ais, was performed, Jan. Ist, 1832, by Dr. j John Rhea Barton, assisted by Dr. Redman, the o o irietor, and two other medical gentlemen. The waole and entire right breast was removed, and af ter examination of the tumor, was pronounced bi all present a cancer of the most malignant charac ter. In about three months, after enduring incredi hie snfferings, she was enabled, though broken ir spirit, to get about again. She remained feeble, and her general health was exceedingly bad, as in deed it had been for several years before. In the spring of 1837. upwards of live years after her brcas< had been removed, a painful tumor made its ap pearance on the right side, immediately over the part formerly occupied by the nipple of the righ breast, previous to its removal. This tumor steadi ly increased for several months, and became Hf painful as to deprive her of rest. The glands un der the right arm were enlarged; and scirrhus, and ahard, irregular, and at times painful tumour, ap peared in the left breast. No operation could now arrest the disease. Indeed her whole body appear td to be a mass of disease. Her case was consid ered hopeless. She was of a very scrofulous habit, eoth her parents having died of Pulmonary con bumption, Tfie experiment was now made with shis Alterative. It was at first given in small doses three times a day, and the doses very gradually, but steadily increased daily, as long as she took it. which was about six months, and the skin over and around the tumour was wet night and morning with a strong golutiqp, of lodine and Hydriodate Potash. The tumour continued increasing in size for about six weeks, and was at times very painful, when the pain suddenly ceased, altogether, and the tumour swelled out at the base, and became soft, and then began to diminish, and continued gradually decreas in'* until every vestige of disease was removed.— The tumour in her left breast, ami those in her right exilla were also dispersed. No cancerous or scrofulous tumours ever appeared afterwards; ami her general health, which had been so bad for four teen rears as to make life a burthen, was effectu ally ami permanently restored. The proprietor is in possession of the diseased breast, and those who choose may examine it. He wcyld also say that he could mention over a dozen cases equally inter esting, wherein his Alterative has subdued cancer and cancerous tumours, but he has not room here to record them. Mrs. Sarah Young, of Quinton’s Bridge, N. J., had a goitrous tumour on the left side of her windpipe, as large as the half of an orange, which was cured by using this Alterative for about four months. Miss It S—> —•, South Fourth-street, Pliila delphia, was also cured of an enlargement of the throat, which filled the entire space between the chin and breast-hone, and extended around on each side of her neck to behind her ears, and from her ears to her shoulders, and produced awful deformi ty. It Commenced growing when she was but five years old. and continued gradually to increase un til she was nineteen, at which time she commenced using this Alterative, which she took for seven months, which entirely reduced the enlargement; and she has now as smooth and pretty a neck as can be found. The proprietor is not at liberty to give her name in print, but will refer persons to her. For sale by WM. K, KITCHEN, sep 28 1 y 2 Sole Agent for Georgia. BRUSHES. EVERY variety of Hair. Tooth, Hat. ITUST those be who hat e Pulmonary Consurap ; .11 tion, or any affection of the Lungs, Liver or after reading the following letter, just re ceived from a most respectable inhabitant of West chester County New York. Tarrytown, Aug. 9, 1844. Dear Doctor—lt is difficult to find words to ex press the gratitude which 1 feel towards you for -he interest you have taken to relieve me in my listress. In the year 1842 I contracted a heavy cold, which finally settled on my lungs; in a few month? after, I commenced coughing and raising: offensive matter, which smelt very bad. Having heard that Sherman’s Lozenges were good for a coughs I tried a few boxes of them, but they had not the least effect on me. I then called in the I best physicians in the place, who attended me a j ew months, but without success; 1 then saw an ad | vertisement in one of the city papers of Wistar’s ! *alsam of Wild Cherry, of which I purchased three : bottles, at the corner of Fulton and Nassau streets, ! but I could not perceive the least beneficial effect ,’rora it, on the contrary 1 think it was a great in jur v to me. Shortly after using it, 1 commenced raising blood in large quantities; I was taken down uck and confined to the house for three months, luring which time I lost my appetite and fell away very last; I was then induced to consult Dr. Curtis >f New York, (one of the best physicians in the city.) but he could do me no good. 1 again became worse, and was confined to the house all last winter and spring, and I gave up all hope of ever getting any better, as I again raised blood and my cough was very severe, together with a pain in my breast and under the shoulder blade. My friends ! now gave up all hope of my recovering, and thought every day was the last. About this time I heard of your BALSAM OF LIVERWORT being good for consumption, but I was like many others, and was fearful that it might be a regular humbug; I i however finally consented to fry it, as 1 thought it could make me no worse. My brother then pur. j chsed a bottle of it at 375 Bowery, N. Y., and ! commenced taking it. and by the time 1 had used | one bottle full I could sleep all night, and in the j morning I bad an appetite for my breakfast. I still | keep on taking it and find great benefit from it—the 1 pain in my breast is entirely gone, and I raise no more blood. Within the last two months 1 have rained in weight six pounds and much in strength. I would therefore, advise all who have any affec tion of the Lungs or Liver to try the Genuine Dr. Tavlor’s Balsam of Liverwort, for I truly believe it to be the best remedy in existence for diseases of the Lungs or Liver. Should any one doubt the above statement relative to your valuable medicine, ’et him call on me, and I will convince him of its virtues, \ ours, respectfully, DL REVERE. GALVANIC RINGS AND Magnetic Fluid. r|Y HIS remarkable invention, which has received JL the almost universal approbation of the Medi cal Profession of Great Britain, comprises an en- 1 tirely new application of Galvanism, as a remedial agent, by means of which the ordinary Galvanic Batteries, Electric and Magnetic Machines, Ac., are entirely dispensed with, and the mysterious powers of Galvanism applied without any of the objections which are inseparable from the general m> Ae now in use. The strong doses, and at irreg ulai uter vale, in which Galvanism is applied by the Machines, has been pronounced after a fair and im partial trial, to be decidedly injurious, and it was to remedy this radical delect, that this new applica tion was projected, which after unceasing toil and perseverance has been brought to its present state of perfection. The Galvanic Kings answer all the purposes of the most expensive Machines, and in many cUber respects are more safe and certain in accomplishing the desired effect. , The Galvanic Rings, used in connection with the Magnetic, Fluid, afe confidently recommended in all disorders which arise from an enfeebled or un healthy state of the nervous or vital system, and those complaints afe among the most painful and univer sal to which we are subject. They arise, without exception, to one single cause —a derangement of the Nervous system—and it was in these cases that other “remedies” having so often failed, a new agent was greatly needed, which it is confidently believed*, has heen.fmmd hr the proper And judi cious application of Galvanism. , The Galvanic Rings have been used with entire success in all cases ot Rheumatism, acute or chronic, applying ffK the head; face or limbs ; Gonl, Tic- I Dolvreux, Toothache, Bronchitis, T ertigo, Nervmis or Sick Headache, Indigestion, Paralyses, Palsy. | Epilepsy, Fits, Cramp, Paljritation of the Heart, Ap poplexy, Stiffness of Joints, Spinal Complaints, Lum bago, Neuralgia, A errors Tremors, Dizziness of the Head. Pains in the Chest and Side, General Debil ity, Deficiency of Nervous and Physical Energy, and all Nervous Disorders. In cases of confirmed Dys pepsia, which is simply a nervous derangement of the digestive organs, they have been found equally successful. Their extraordinary effects upon the system must be witnessed to be believed, and as a certain Preventive for the preceding complaints they are equally recommended. The Rings are of different prices, being made of all sizes, and of va rious ornamental patterns, and can be worn by the most delicate female without the slightest incon venience. In fact the sensation is rather agreea ble than otherwise. The Galvanic Belts, Bracelets, Bands, Garters, Necklaces, Ac. i In some cases of a very severe character and of | long Standing the power as applied by the Galvanic Rings is nl't sufficient to arrest the progress of dis ease and ultimately to restore health. The improv ed modification in the Galvanic Dells, Bracelets, : entirely remedies 1 bis objection ; any degree of power that is required can readily be obtained, 1 and no complaint which the mysterious agent ot | Galvanism can effect will fail to be permanently re lieved. These articles are adapted to s he waist, arms, wrists, limbs, ancles, or any part ot the body with ; perfect convenience. The Galvanic Nec/,'/ores, are used with greater benefit in cases of Drone/, dis or affections of the throat generally; also in case’ el Nervous Deafness; and with almost uniform success as a preventive for Apoplexy, Epileptic Fits, and similar complaints. CHRISTIE’S MAGNETIC FLUID. Is issued in connection with the Galvanic Rings, and all their modifications. This composition lias been pronounced by the French Chemists to he one ol the most extraordinary discoveries of mod j ern science. It is believed to possess a remarkable 1 power of rendering the Nerves sensitive to Galvanic action, by these means causing a circulation of the influence at the seat of disease, and thus giving ra pid and permanent relief. No other composition in chemistry is known to produce the same effect or i to impart a similar property to the nervous system hv means (if an outward local application. The Magi le tic Fluid contains nothing capable of the slightest injury, its application is agreeable, and it is as harmless in its afitiofi !i* it is beneficial in its result. They are confidently recom mended as a valuable addition in the speedy cure of Rheumatism, acute or chronic; in all nervous complaints, and as a positive remedy in cases ot Pain and Weakness in the Chest or Back, Pain in ; the Side, Asthmatic Affections, and in Weakness or Oppression of the Pulmonary Organs. In Spi nal Complaints, their effects arc 01 the most decided I character, and they have often been used with ; complete success. The} - are also ot the greatest advantage in Pains and Weakness of the Breast, and are highly recommended for many of Those complaints to which females are especially liable. ; As an effectual means for Strengthening the sys tem When debilitated by disease or other causes; as a certain aid in Constitutional Weakness, as a Preventive for Colds, and in all affections of the Chest, generally, the Galvanic Strengthening Bias- j j tef, will be found of great and permanent advantage. IN offering this valuable medicine to the people of Georgia, for the relief and cure of many dis eases incident to a Southern climate, I do not claim for it infallibility; neither do I say it will cure all diseases. But in Chronic Liver Affections and Dyspepsia, I can confidently advise and recom mend its use. from my personal observation and use of the article in my own practice. This article is favorably received wherever it has been used. 1 am allowed to refer to Mr. George Heard of Troup. Mr. John Warren of Columbus, Mr. McKaffce of : Cobb, Mr. Asbury Hull of Athens, Mr. William D. Terrell of Putnam, Rev. John E. Dawson of La grange; to which a great number of names might 1 lie added, who bear their testimony to its value.— Dr. Henry Branham lias used this medicine in his own case, and has prescribed it t<» many others, gives it as h;* opinion, that it is one of the safest i and most valuable medicines that can be used in imperfect digestion, liver complaints, constipation and irregular state of the bowels. Jt is useful in billions complaints, to persons recovering from bil lions fevers.and in sick or nervous head-ache. 1 o , pregnant women, who arc subject to costiveness, ] this medicine is well suited. In regulating the state j of the stomach and bowels, and promoting digestion, 1 it is particularly useful. 1 could append a long list of certificates, but for bear, prefering to rely on the virtues ol the medi cine to sustain itself. THE startling drawback on nearly ail Medicinal 1 Agents has ever been that in their process of pur- j gatiou and purification, they have also Debilitated the System. Hence Purgative Medicines have al- ; j ways been regarded as at best but a Necessary Evil f Patients resorting to them for the relief of one disease at the expense of another. To obviate | this, Physicians have long sought for an Agent that 1 would at the same time PURGE PURIFY AND STRENGTHEN. But their efforts were nearly fruitless, and they j had almost despaired of success when the labors ot j science and research, were rewarded by a discov ery which fully realized the fondest desires of tiie j Medical Faculty, uml which is justly regarded as j one of the most important Triumphs that Pharmacy ! has ever achieved. This important desideratum is named Dr. Lc Roy’s Vegetable Universal Pills. Which P unify the Blood, and remove all corrupt . I and vitiated humors, and unhealthy accumulations Irom I the body in a manner never before rivalled, and ; ; which yet produce no weakness or lassitude what- 1 ! ever, but 0» thv contrary, tone the Stomach, and I invigorate the constitution during the progress of I their operation. Dr. Le Roy’s Pills, in tact, unite 1 those heretofore irreconcilable, but most desirable qualities, Evacuation and Jnf'-i"-oration, for they are at the same time aSTKENG I HLNING PR RGA TIVE, AND A PURIFYING TONIC. r I he two paincipal ingredients in Dr. Le Roy s Pills are WILD CHERRY A SARSAPARILLA. So prepared that each promotes the beneficial el j feet of the other, the former strengthening, while the latter, through its union with various vegetable ingredients, evacuates and purifies; thus they su perinduce no torpidity or lassitude ot the the Diges- 1 tive Functions, and hence their operations are at- j tended by no Re-action or Subsequent Costiveness. Dr. Le Roy’s Pills arc the most active and search ing Medicine in existence. They at once attack | the very root of Diseases, ami their action is so prompt that in an hour or two after they are taken, the patient is aware of their good effects. They 1 not only operate on the Blood, but also on the chyle, j of which the Blood is formed, and this secures good , blood from the fountain head, moreover, they pro- > duce neither nausea, griping or debility, and as a family medicine they have no rival.
