Latest dates from livehpooi sept. 18 LATEST DATES FROM HA VHA KPT. 15 [ From the Richmond Times and Compiler .] By Magnetic Telegraph- NEW YORK, Oct. 11. P. M.—The ship Courier has arrived here from Rio with dates fourteen days later. Richmond Flour was quoted at 20)|t>00a2.1l|- 000, and Baltimore Mills at 17|1000al9(|000. The whole stock at Rio was 40,000 bbls; 19,000 unsold. Coffee was active, with an upward tendency. BALTIMORE, Oct. 11, P. M—The New York and Philadelphia markets are firm. There is yet no connection with Washington by Rail Road. CHARLESTON, Oct. 14.— Cotton.— No change in the Upland market, or if any, perhaps a little more disposition shown on the part of holders yes terday to elft ct sales than previously. Sales of the day 730 bale-, at extremes from 10 to 11, princi pally 10| a 10|, only 7 bales at 11. Rice. —The market, with but a small supply of the new crop, was very quiet yesterday, and we only heard of one sale of 50 bbls. at s3|. CIIEB AW, Oct. 12.—CoRou.-The sales of this a-r tide during the past week amount to HO balest 40 of which changed hands previous to the receip of the accounts by the Hibernia at 11 toll|c. The sales since that time have ranged at from lU to 10|, very little bringing the latter figure. NEW ORLEANsTocTX— Cotton.— Arrived since the 6lh inst., 4976 bales—-making an addition to stock of 1091 bales, and leaving on hand, inclu sive of ail on ship-board not cleared on the Bth inst., a stock of 40,401 bales. In our review of Wednesday morning last we left the Cotton market in a firm position, and sta ted that owing to increased inducements afforded to buyers by some further arrivals from sea, which gave them better facilities for making shipments, the demand had been good, anti had resulted in sales for the three days preceding, of 8900 bales. Throughout Wednesday a steady inquiry existed, and though the difficulty of negotiating Exchange continued without any material abatement, yet purchasers came torward quite freely, and the sales of the day summed up 3000 bales, generally at the full rates of the day previous. Oa Thursday the transactions were less extensive, reaching but 1700 bales, without any important variation in the rates, though buyers claimed in some instances to have made their purchases on slightly easier terms. Yesterday, notwithstanding the amount actually on the market was somewhat limited, owing to the light receipts of the two days previous, about 2300 bales were disposed of, making the sales of the three days 7000 bales, and ol the week 15,000 hales, taken principally for English and French account, with some parcels for the North. As to prices wo could discern no alteration yesterday, the market closing with a good demand and light stock offer ing, and the rates before current fairly sustained. Our last quotations are therefore once more contin ued. The total receipts at this port since Sept. 1, are 48 651 bales, against 2G,7G3 bales to the same time last year, and 8(5,51-3 the year previous. The weather for several days past has been as fine as could be desired for maturing and gathering the crop, and the accounts from the interior rep resent the picking as progressing with great ac tivity. We still hear some complaints of the worm, but it is not generally conceded that the cat erpillar has appeared too late to seriously curtail the crop. XF.W ORLEANS CLASSIFICATION.
