The ire is no scarcity of any article that we know of, and daily accessions are made to the stocks on hand by arri vals from below. IfhOUß.—The market is well supplied with Country Flo.tr, in bags and barrels. There is not much demand for it at present, and the best qualities win not bring ovrj* 85 as’ per bbl. by the quantity. There is a visible fin, rovement in the milling and barrelling of this arliele, 1 and wft yesterday saw a lot from E. McConnell’s Mills, Cherokee county, which, for neatness of package, would compare with any Canal Flour. BACON—Continues scarce, and a lot of good would rcae ily bring onr quotations. C’i >RN.—There is a i'ftle mure enquiry for this arti- i cle, which is scarce. We have no sales to report this weak, but would remark, a lot in bags would bring quotations, 50 a 55 cents. RAGGING AND ROPE.—We have in Augusta, we believe, a larger stock of Kentucky Ragging than is held In either Charleston or Savannah, but it is in the hands of n few. We understand a sale was made this week of some 1400 pieces, hut could not learn the price. Our Merchants arc supplying a large extent of country with this article; as one of them remarked to ns yesterday, fronji Columbia, P. G., m GrfTin, On. The supply of Bald Rope is still limited, and a lot of Kentucky, if put on the market, would readily bring 9 cents. SALT.—This article is also scarce, and prices have an upward tendency. Sacks arc retailing from stores at $1,75, but we do not believe a lot could be purchased at j this price. The same may he said of loose salt, which retails from stores at 45 a 59 cents per bushel. EXCHANGE.—Our banks are selling sight checks on New York at \ per cent. pram. THE RIVER.—Ts getting low, and if we are not shortly visited with a rain, will be too low for steam ers to reach the wharves. At the present time it is high enough to enable thorn to discharge their cargoes at the wharf. Fancy brands sold to a considerable extent at 6 37. j a 57, and some extra at a trifle over 57. Uninspected at 5 7,7 a%6 15. and some at 6a i >’b 50. The business would be larger but for the ! scarcity of eastern vessels. Corn is rather quiet, but the market is unchang ed, Mixed, is 72 a 73A; yellow, 74 a 75, with sales of about 20, 00 bushels.
