DR. BANNING’S BODY BRACES.
The^ following letter, among many, has been ad- I
dressed to the Doctor ;
New York, July 15, 1817.
Dk.ar n rother # » # A change, yes. a i
won .'erful change, has come over me since I last
wrote to you. Oh, say you, what change ? I will
tell you, w'ould that 1 could speak in the car of al*
my sex who arc suffering as you known I have suf- j
sered for years—l would tell them to look up and
be comforted. There is hope even for them—yes,
notwithstanding they may have "spent all their
living on physicians without any benefit" but rath
er grew wo.se. Ves,. brother, there is relief for !
them.
Du. Banning's Justly celebrated Body Brace is the
fireat panacea. You are aware that I have used
various other supports, without much, if any bene
fit- Well, what will you say when I tell you I
have been induced by a fiiend of humanity, one
that like yourself, de.ights to relieve his suffering
fellow creatures, to try one of Dr. Banning's Bra
ces as an experiment. I have worn it for some
time, and can now testily that language is wholly
inadequate to express the relief 1 have received
Iroui it. 1 hat constant dull pain and pulling sen
sation in my right side is wholly obviated by the
use ol the Brace—likewise the pressing, bearing
down of the abdomen is entirely relieved. That
goneness, or feeling that the joints of the lower part
of the spine were gone, is also entirely relieved.—
Likewise Piles, and constant constipation of the
bowels are wholly obviated. You well know how'
difficult it has been for me to walk any distance
for years on account of those complaints. Since 1
came to tills city. 1 have walked more than usual,
and the consequence lias frequently been inability
to rise from my bed for hours. Since I have worn
the brace I have been enibled to walk miles daily
with slight inconvenience. I have told you some
ot the effects on the body ,the mortal part —1 truely
leel this is marvelously supported. 1 could not
have believed anything could have been devised
that would or could so perfectly supported the hu
man body. Bnj . what shall I say of the offect on
the mind—*;t is equally wonderful. Yoar are well
■aware ol the morbid despondency from which I
have long suffered, often feeling that none had sor
bows like unto mine. Earth seemed like a blank,
not so now, thanks be to my lleavealy Father—
hope has arisen in my heart, I can look with
calmness and fortitude upon life's passing trials,
feeling that 1 have yet many, very many blessings.
Now, dear brother, 1 want you to recommend this
m nt useful panacea to all your patients afflicted as
i have been. 1 am confident it will do more for
them than all your drugs and nostrums. 1 sincere
ly pray that the choicest of Heaven's blessings
C 1
m iy rest upon the inventor of this wonder-working
instrument. Wh at a consolation it must be to him !
to know that thiough his agency so large a class of
sufferers have been relieved.

considered beyond the reach of medicine, and i
have baffled the best directed effor’s of physicians,
are found to yield quite readily to the astonishing
efficacy of this wondrous agency. An efficient
and convenient mode of applicati m has long been
desired, though but lately attained, and this lias
been done by the beautiful invention of DR.
CHRISTIE'S GALVANIC RINGS, BELTS,
BRACELETS, and other appliances which are
adapted for peculiar diseases, to any part of
the system with the most perfect safety and

arrested in their course, and very often perfectly
cured.

V REMARKABLE mineral, pronounced by

known to them by the name of Tripoli, has lately
been discovered in this country, although but in one

The article is excellent for burnishing and clean
ing all finished metallic and glass surfaces, such as
gold, silver, brass, Britannia and steel ware, win

language of the consumer is. it is the best thing!
