The stocks of onr merchants are good, much better tlian at any corresponding period of tlic season for a number of years past. CORN.—There has bem some enquiry for sac’s Corn this week, but the stock being light, transactions have been limited. The few sales made of sack, have been at 55 (a, 57 cents. Loose is selling at 59, and cobb from he wagon at 45 cents per bushel. FLOUR.—There is a fair demand for country, and the better qualities sell readily at per bbl. We give ns the range of quotations, $5 (a) 6—the latter price for fancy brands in small parcels. BACON.—No receipts this week, and the demand limited. Our quotations may be considered as nominal. RAGGING, &c.—Not much demand for Bagging— business confined to the supplying of small country or ders, within the range of quotations. Bale Rope is still scarce, and the retail price is now 10c. COFFEE.—The stock on hand is good of all descrip- | tions. Sales have been rejmrted to us of about 259 bags Rio, in lots, at 8| cents. MOLASSES.—The stock of Molasses is on the de- ■ crease, and prices have an upward tendency. SUGARS,—Good supply of all descriptions ou hand, : and our quotations will give a fair index of the market when a hhd. or more is purchased. IRON.—The market is well supplied with all descrip tions of Iron. We understand a cargo of Swede, 399 tons, imported via Savannah, for houses in this city, is now on its way up the river. When received, the assortment in market will be such as to make it an object of those in want of the article, to give a look before proceeding fur- ' ther- This is only one of the many articles our mer chants import direct, and will solve the mystery to many of our country friend-', why the merchants of An- j gusta, in all heavy articles, can undersell those of Now York and Charleston. The reason is. they import their goods direct, pay the same duties as the New York mer chants, and the only extra expense t&ey are put to, is getting them up the river: whereas, the interior mer chant who buys in New York, can only obtain Siis j goods at the same price, and his to pay, in addition to i commissions, the freight ou the same articles, extra, from New York to Charleston or Savannah. The articles | that will come under this head, are Sugar, Coffee, Mu lasses, Iron, Salt, Hardware, Ate. SALT.—There has been a good demand for Salt this week, and at the present time but little remains in first haads. Sales of sack have been reported to us this n eck, from the wharf in this City and Hamburg, of about 1890 sacks at $1,55 per sack, and of about 15 )0 sacks from store, at prices ranging from $1,50 to 1,55 — principally at the latter price. Bulk Salt is getting scarce, but is still retailing from stores at 45c. jer bushel. Sack ■is retailing at $1,62. WHEAT.—There has been some enquiry for Wheat this week, but we have had no receipts. A lot of good would readily bring $ 1 per bushel. DOMESTIC SPIRITS—Market well supplied with all descriptions, except Whisk}', which is scarce and in •demand at quotations. EXCHANGE. —Northern is still scarce, and our Banks arc selling Sight Checks on New York, in lim ted am )u«t*. ail per oea*t prem. They purchase CO day h.lis ut interest olf. FREIGHTS.—The River is still iu ga.vi b latingorier for light draft boats. Not much down Freight offering. No change in rates. ni A RLt:s roX7)eT.The Up land market remained very' quiet yesterday, with no disposition on the part of buyers to operate. — Sales. 70 bales only, at 7g a 7£, Rice. —The market continued with a good de mand. similar to Saturday, and at the same lirm jies* of prices S lies from 703 to 300 bids, at ex tremes from $3 1-1 G a principally, $3 a MONTGC)MEKY c. 1 6^—Cotton. —The re ceipts of the week are h-avy considering the very severe weather mosi of the week. The market closed last week with extremes at (>| a lI4C. It closes this week at 6 a having declined \c. since its commencement. There is, however, v ery little offering for sale. Dear Sir; In the year 1011, I was so severely attacked with Liver Complaint as to be unable to attend to my business. I consulted with the best physicians ! in our place but they gave me no relief. In the winter « f 1842 I procured a bottle of WISTARS BALSAM OF WILD CHERRY; and before 1 had used one half of it I was able to | resume my business as usual. From the generic name of the Spider tribe (Tex teri*) the word texture is derived, and the web of this insect was undoubtedly the first specimen of weaving which the world ever saw. Rude as the specimen may be considered, it is as near an aj>- i proach to the fabrics of our looms, as the crude remedies of the early ages are to the triumphs of modern pharmacy. In the days of Hippocrates a root was dug at a particular time of the moon, and after being soaked in cold vvater, the fluid was ad ministered to the patient. Compare this powerless infusion with the happy result of combination and concentration attained in SANDS’ SARSAPA RILLA. The detergent and tonic properties of the most valuable of all roots, exercise through th s preparation their most perfect influence ; and the consequence is lU*x all diseases of the skin and other integrements, as well as those of the flesh and glands (including Scrofula) yield readily in al most every instance toils effects.
