JEW DAVID'S, OR HEBREW
PLASTER
The Great Remedy for Rheumatism, Gout, Pain in
the Side, Hip, Back, Limbs and Joints, Scrofula ,
King’s Evil, White Swellings, Hard Tumors #
Stiff Joints, and all Fixed Pains whatever.
Where this Plaster is Applied, Pain Car>
not Exist.
1 A gentleman in the south of Europe, and Pales
tine, in 1830. heard so much said in the latter place
in favor of JEW DAVID'S PLASTER, and of the
(as he considered) miraculous cures it had per
formed, that he was induced to try it on his own
- person, for a Lung and Liver Affection, the re
moval of which had been the chief object of bis
journey, but which had resisted the genial and de
licious clime.
He accordingly applied a plaster on the right
ss side of hia chest where the pain was seated, an
i- other between the shoulders, and one over the re
[j rionof the liver. In the mean time ha drank free
ly of •• k«rt> toe es laxative qualities He soon
jpatent iileMnucs,
| found his health improving, and iu a lew weeks his
cough left him ; the sallowness of his skin disap
peared, his pain was removed, and his health be
came permanently reiu»*ated.
The following is from Mr. Worsteil, editorofth*
Massillon Gazette, Ohio.
“ f ietUlemeu —During last winter and spring, i
was so troubled with a pain iu my breast as to ren
der me unfit for the duties of my office ; and hear
ing your Jew David’s, or Hebrew Plaster highly
recommended for similar cases, i was induced to
give it a trial. I had worn a plaster upon my
breast but a short lime, when all pain left me. and
i was enabled again to engage in the labors of the
office, i would also state, that my sister, residing
j Steubenville in this State, has' received much
) benefit from its use.
Yours, truly, JNO. P. WORSTELL.”
| Massillon, November 12, 1843.
It has been very beneficial in cases of Weak

Female Weakness, Ac No female, subject to

Have you a cough, cold, or the consumption!
If you have, try Dr Hastings, Compound
i Syrup of Naphtha. This medicine is the discove
j ry ol the celebrated Dr. Hastings, Senior Physi
! cian to the Blenheim Free Dispensary of London.
I Dr Hastings had his early attention drawn to the
consideration of the causes of, and the cure for
consumption, and after numerous experiments, and
long years of patient and laborious study, discov
ered that Wood Naphtha com, ounded with other
vegetable substances, was a certain and speedy
cure for consumption, and all diseases of the lungs.
The Naphtha being of a very' volatile nature, im
mediately rises to the lungs, the seat of the dis
ease, and attacking it in its stronghold, destroy* all
tubercles that have formed upon the lungs, and
\ prevents the formation of others. For coughs and
I colds it is an invaluable remedy, curing the most
! severe in an incredible short space of time. A
; single bottle will prove *he virtue of this remedy.
In lact, a single dose will effect an almost instanta
neous relief.
Hastings Compound Syrup of Naphtha
is now being u-ed in nearly all our hospitals, and
is also coming into rapid use among all our best
physicians, lor coughs, colds, and all diseases ol
the lungs, ft has been recommended in the worst
state el consumption by the celebrated physician,
Dr. Mott, of New Y’ork ; and Dr. Arnold, of Sa
vannah, Geo., writing to the agent at New York,
under date of Jan. 3&th, 1848, says:—“ I received
the halt-dozen Hastings’ Naphtha Syrup, ordered
from you, and am convinced that Naphtha is the
principal ingredient. Enclosed is twenty-five dol
lars, .or which you will send me two dozen and-a
--i halt bottles more. 1 have two patients in the Ma
j rine Hospital, whom I think will be benefitted by
Dr. Lenoir ol Lenoir's Landing, Tenn., writes
as follows:— •* I procured some of Dr. Hastings’
Naphtha Syrup from Philadelphia, and enclosed
send you ten dollars for one dozen more bottles. I
consider it a very valuable medicine for all dis
i eases of the lungs.”
Savannah, Feb. 9th, 1848.
I Mr. M. A. F’. Harrison
Dear Sir—At the suggestion of Dr. Arnold, the
Physician of the Hospital of which 1 am one ol
the directors, I would like to supply myself with
Hastings’ Wood Naphtha. The Doctor ordered,
some days since, some for the use of the Hospital.
Should you deem proper to send the article on
liberal terms, 1 can forward the sale of it in our
city.
