COTTON.—The weather to-day was unfa-o
rable to out door business, and the transactions in
Co ton were limited. Since oar last the Franklin
and the Asia have arrived, bring advices from
Liverpool up the 4th inst. The Liverpool Cotton
market was steady} and trade prosperous. The
effect of the advices caused holders here to stiffen
n their demands, which buyers were reluctant
to submit to.
CHATTANOOGA, Jan. Iff— Cotton— Our mar
ket, since our last publication, has been very ac
tive, and sa es of -everal large lots of Cotton made
.at an advance of £to over the prices paid prior
to the arrival of the Niagara. On Saturday fair
quality was so d at 12£c. Since then, we have
heard of no sales; buyers not being disposed to op
erate until the arrival of the steamer now past due.
On Monday evening passengers brought news of
the advance of £ to £d. by steamer, which caused
holders to be firm at an advanced price—but as
the s«me was entirely withoui foundation, and
doubtless only intended for mischief—it has had a
tendency to prevent any operations. Large lots are
now offering from the wharf, but buyers will
enter the market, only at the following quotations:
Midd ing to Good Middling, llg a 124; Middling
Fair, 12* aFair, 12$ a l*f. 5
We have just learned of a iot of Good Middling
having been sosd last evening at #l2 40.
SAY ANNAH.Jan. 17. Cotton.— Yesterday the
market was dut’, the sales being limited to 792
bales, at the follow ng particulars : 35 at Ilf; 2 at
12$; 11 at I2|, 498 at 13; Bat 13J; 182 at 13£; 40
at 13£; 11 at l3f; and 5 bales at 14 cents.
COLUMBUS. (Gt ) JAN. 1 b.—Cotton —Our
market is not quite so active, on account of the
delay of toe -»xpected accounts from Liverpool to
28ih December. We still quote 11 to I2f.

RHEUMATISM
OF ALL KIN DS can be cured by the use
of MARSHALL S MAGICAL PAIN ERAD
-ICATOR.
'This is unquestionably tfie very best remedy that
has ever been offered to the afflicted. Every day
evidence is produced of some good it has doue,
aud, if it be in the powet of medicine to cure Rheu
matism, and the other diseases named, “ MAR
sIIALL’3 ERA DICATOR” will certainly do it.
I he public need fear no humhuggery in this pre
paration, as the money in ail cases will be refund
ed, it proof can be shown of its failure.
TO THOSE SUFFERING FROM CORNS.
This preparation is invaluable, and permission
is given to tefer to several Ladies and Gentlemen,
whose DHtnes can be given on application. Among
the many certificates and letters received from
persons who have given this remedy a fair and
impartial trial, one is selected, simp<y because
tUe writer is well known to almost every body in
this county, and the several adjoining counties, as
a gentleman of probity, i andor and honor, aud
without further remark, will copy verbatim.
Elmore, Burke County, Dec. 22,
Mr. J. E Marshall,— Dear s?ir: lu compli
ance w th your request, 1 make this simple state
rnent of facts. My boy Daniel stuck a thorn in
his foot about the first of last June, the th >ru was
extracted, and no more thought of it for 15 or 20
days, his loot then began to swell, and in a few
days it was opened. It discharged a large quanii
ty of matter. The. discharge continued for eight
days, and then ceased. His foot then re com
menced swelling and extended up his leg, thigh,
and hip, with noieut pain. He then began to spit
from his lungs matter similar to that discharged
from the abscess on his foot. I then called in me
dical aid, and from the remedies used, he was al
ternately better and worst for eight or ten weeks.
During this time a large abscess .orrned upon the
hip, the discharge was large, and as soon "‘-mt it
ceased, a general swelling of his leg, thigh an 1
oreasl commenced, which was very hard to the
*ouch. and at times expe<ienced much difficulty
in swallowing. Medical aid seemed «;f no further
avail, and was discontinued. I then had recourse
to your “ Magical Pain Eradicator.” la forty
eight hours, from the time I commenced its use,
his foot began to soiten ; the swelling on his bip
and breast subsided and 1 am pleased to say he is
now well.
I again used your remedy in a case of Nue*al
gia, with great success, giving lr mediate *eliet
I have tried it aso for Tooth-Ache, with my
youngest child, with entire success.
From the success I have had in the use of your
'• Magical Pain Eradicator,” 1 have no hesitation
in recommending it to the public.
Yours truly, W. W. HUGHES.
The above statements of the use of “Maish all’s
Magical Pain Eradicator” are kuown by me to be
true.

WONDER OF THE AGR
;||||
ELECTRIC WASHING FLUID,
For washing in hard or soft water.
fT'IHIS is the only genuine article to be found
i in the world ; and possesses double the pow
er of any thing ever discovered for washing
clothes, at a trifling expense, doing away with
wash boards at once In fact, it seems to be the
long sought Phi osopher’s Stone, or universal sol
vent ; seeming a magical preparation, its opera
tion being of the most astonishing character. A
common sized washing may be done with one gill
of this Flu d, in less than two hours. It softens
and removes the dirt, leaving the articles of the
most brilliant whiteness. It being as harmless in
its operations as pure water, and clothing will
wear mueh longer than when tubbed to pieces by
the common method of washing.
This Fluid is a powerful agent, to be used in all
cases where snap is required, particular’y for
cleansing milk utensils, cleaning windows and
paint, scouring floors ; in short, it is beyond a pre
cedent, as its use is universal in the wasshing world.

CHFRHY.
EV ER since the settlement of America, Wild
Cherry has been known to possess very im
portant medicinal virtues. Every body knew this
fact, but no body knew how to ext act its essen
lal properties. Every mother gives Wild Cherry
ea to her ch.ldren for worms, tor co ds, and for
i most every disease ; and adults throughout our
country are in the habitr.f making a compound of
sy • up of Wild * 'berry bark and other ingredients,
u> be used in spring as an antidote ‘0 complaints
ncidem to that changeful season. It is found by
experiment that the Wild Cherry possesse-even
sar more important qualities than was ascribed to
it. For the first stag*-- ot Consumption. Asthma,
no matter how long standing. Coughs, Liver Com
plaints, etc., it is proved to be the best medicine
inown to man. Dr Wistar's Balsam of Wild
•'herry is a chemical ex"ract, combined with a
-.irniiar extract from Tar, which enhances its val
ue. Its success in cuiing pulmonary diseases, in
aimost every stage, after our best physicians
coul i do no mo e, has astonished the facuty, and
ed them to confess that Wistar’s Balsam of Wild
Cherry possesses a principle heretolore unknown
among medical men.
