MR* A. V. ROBISON would notify his pat
rons, that an examination of his Pupils for the pre
sent quarter will take place at Concert Hall, on
FRIDAY EVENING, the 3lst inst. He earnestly
solicits the attendance of all those Parents or Guar
dians who have ever been patrons of his, his pre
sent patrons, and those who hare received tickets
to his Public Evenings, accompanied by their fam
ilies to attend. His Class being so very small the
present quarter, and a majority of them being be
ginners, affords but little opportunity for muclt va
riety, in the different dances. In con equence of
this, the attraction will not be much.
He proposes to resume his lessons for a second
quarter, if the number oi thirty scholars can be
procured, a less number would not justify ihe
heavy bill of expenses, which he must necessarily
incur. He has twenty Pupils engaged for the se
cond quarter, leaving only ten more to make up
the number required. Persons who wish to send
in the next quarter, will find the subscription list
at the Book Store of Messrs. J. A. Carrie &
Co., and if tbe number required should be made
up, he will commence the second quarter on FRI
DAY AFTERNOON, the 7th of February, at 3
o’clock, and will give lessons two afternoons in
«ach week, saj Friday and Saturday afternoon
from 3to 54 v? cl«ck. tu2&ll jan 21

PROF. A. C. BARRY’S TRICOPHE
ROUS,
OR MEDICATED COMPOUND.
INFALLIBLE lor renewing, invigorating and
beautifying the HAIR, removing the scurf,
dandruff, and all affections of the scalp, and curing
eruptions on the skin, diseases of the glands, mus
cles and integuments, and relieving stings, cuts,
bruises, sprains, Ac. With this preparation -‘there
is no such word as fail.” The first journals in
America, medical men of the highest eminence,
prominent citizens of all professions, and ladies
who have used it for years in their dressing rooms
and nurseries, admit with one accord, that for im
parting Vigor, gloss, luxuriance and curl to the
hair, eradicat ng scurf and dandruff, heating
wounds, curing contusions, sprains, stings, Ac.,
and relieving diseases of the skin, the glands and
the muscles.ii. has no equa< among the multitude
of compounds advertised in the public priuts, or
used in private practice, la cheapness as we 1a»
efficacy, Barry’s Tricopherous is uurivalleu. The
immense cash sales ot the article have enabled
the inventor to supply it at retail, at 25 cents per
bottle, which is from 50 to 100 per cent less than
the pr ce of any other preparation lor the hair now
in ’ise. The scien.ilic treatise on the hair and the
skin, (embracing valuable dilections for the cul
ture and preservation of Nature's choicest orna
ment,) in which each bottle is enclosed, is alone
worth the money.
The affinity th>? membranes which con
stitute the skin, and the hair which draws its sus
tenance from this triple envelope is very close.—
All diseases of the hair originate in the skin of the
head. If the porCTof the sea p are dogged, or it
the blood and other fluids do not circulate freely
through the small vessels which feed the root with
moisture, and impart to the fibres, the result is
scurf, dandruff, shedding of the hair, graveness,
dryness and harshness ot the ligaments, and entire
baldness, as the case may be. Stimulate t e skin
to healthful action with the Tricop; erous, and the
to-, pid vessels recovering their activity, will anni
hilate the disease. In ail affections of the skin,
and of the substiataof muscles and integuments,
the process and the effect are the same. It is
upon the skin, the muscular fibre, and the glands,
that the Tricopherous has its specific action, and
in all affections and injury ot these organs, it is a
s vereign remedy.
