AUGUSTA, GEORGIA. FRIDAY MORNING, FEBRUARY 28, 1851.
j PROF. A. C. BARRY’S TRICOPHB
ROUS,
OR MEDICATED COMPOUND.
INFALLIBLE (or renewing, invigoiating and
beautifying the HAIR, removing the scurf,
dandruff, and all affections of the scalp, and curing
eruptions on the skin, diseases of the glands, mus
cles and integuments, and relieving stings, cuts,
bruises, sprains. &c. With this preparation -‘there
is no such word as fail." The first journals in
America, medical men of the higLest eminence,
prominent citizens of all proiessi«>ns, and ladies
who have used it for years in their dressing rooms
and nurseries, admit with one accord, that for im
parting rigor, gloss, luxuriance and curl to the
hair, eradicat ng scurf and dandruff', healing
wounds, curing contusions, sprains, stings, &c.,
and relieving diseases of the skin, the glands and
the muscles,L has no equal among the multitude
of compounds advertised in the public piints, or
used in private practice. Jn cheapness as we la*
efficacy, Barry’s Tricopherous is unnvalleu. The
immense cash sales of the article have enabled
the inventor to supplv it at retail, at 25 cents per
bottle, which is from 50 to 100 per cent less than
the pr.ce of any other preparation for the hair now
in ’.se. The scien i(ic treatise on the hair and the
skin, (embracing valuable diiections for the cul
ture and preservation of Nature’s choicest orna
ment,) in which each bottle is enclosed, is alone
worth the money.
The affinity between th * membranes which con
stitute the skin, and the hair which draws its sus
tenance from this triple envelope is very close.—
All diseases of the hair originate in the skin of the
head. If the pores of the sea p are clogged, or it
the blood and other fluids do not circulate freely
through the sma.. . essels which feed the root with
moisture, and impart to the fibres, the result is
scurf, dandruff - , shedding of the hair, graveness,
dryness and harshness ol the ligaments, and entire
baldness, as the case may be. Stimulate the skin
to healthful action with the Tricop. erous, and the
toipid vessels, recovering theii activity, will anni
hilate the disease. In all affections of the skin,
and of the substi ata of muscles and integuments,
the process and the effect are the same. It is
upon the skin, the muscular fibre, and the glands,
that the Tricopherous has its specific action, and
in all affections and injury ol these organs, it is a
s .vereign remedy.
Sold, in large bottles, price 25 cents, at the prin
c:pal office, 137 Bi oadway, New York, and sold by
the principal Mei chants and Druggists throughout

Mr. J L Marshall,—Dear In compli
ance w th your request, I make this simple state
merit ol facts. My boy Daniel stuck a thorn in
his foot about the first of last June, the th ru was
extract* tl, and no more thought of it for 15 or 20
days, his foot then b. gan to swell, and in a tew
days it was opened, ft discharged a large quanti
ty (>1 matter. The discharge continued lor eight
days, and then ceased His foot then ie com
menced swelling and extended up his leg, thinh,
and hip, with violent pain. He then began to spit
from h:s lungs matter similar to that discharged
from tin abscess on his toot. I then called in me
dical atd. and fiom the remedies used, he was all
temutely better and worse for eight or ten weeks
During this tune a large abscess formed upon the
hip, the discharge was large, ai d as soon as it
ceased, a general swelling ol his leg, thigh an-i
breast commenced which was very hard to the
touch and at times expe ienced much difficulty
in swallowing. Medical aid seemed of no further
avail, and was discontinued. 1 then had recourse
to your “Magical Pain Eradicator.” In forty
eight hours, trom the time I commenced its use,
his foot began to soften ; the swelling on his hip
aud breast subsided and I am pleased to say he is
now well.
. 1 again used your remedy in a case of Nueia!-

I have tried it also for Tooth-Ache, with my
youngest child, with entire success.
From the success I have had in the use of your
“ Magical Pain Eradicator,” 1 have no hesitation
in recommending it to the public.

Dr. Dennis prepares his Sarsaparilla from the

he has had Georgia Sarsaparilla blown in the bot

NORTH AMERICAN
ELECTRIC WASHING FLUID,
For washing in hard or soft water.
r is the oniy genuine article to be found
■ in the world ; and possesses double the pow
er of any .hing ever discovered for washing
clothes, at a trifling expense, doing away with
wash boards at once In fact, it seems to be the
long sought Phi csopher’s Stone, or universal sol
vent ; seeming a magical preparation, its opera
tion being of the most astonishing character. A
common sized washing may be done with one gill
of this Flu.d, in Uss than two hours. It softens
and removes the dirt, leaving the articles of the
mos* brilliant whiteness. It being as harmless in
its operations as pure water, and clothing will
wear mueh longer than when i übbed to pieces by
the common method of washing.
This Fluid is a powerful agent, to be used in all
cases wheie soap is required, particular'y for
cleansing milk utensils, cleaning windows and
paint, scouring floors ; in short, it is beyond a pre
cedent, as its use is universal in the washing world.

Mr. A. L. Scovill: However reluctant I h»ve
been to permit my name to be attached to pa ent

to sta e that in t/uee cases of ir.cipent consumption,
viz : Miss Bell, Miss Barger, and Mr R. H. C* x,

HENRY MORSE.
Cincinnati, Nov. Bth, 1847.
From William Richards , M. D.
I feel consiraiiied from a sense of duty to make
the following statement, conscious that it may ap
pear unprofessional. Mr. Ci arles Wade, of thi
city, was quite low with Pulmonary Consumption
fur which 1 had been treating with less than usual
success. At his request, and that of his friends, I
permitted him to try Dr. Rogers’ Liverwort and
Tar ; and I must confess that its effects were real
ly surprising. After using the second bottle, my
visits were discontineo, and he was soon restored
to health. Ido con- cientiousiy recommend my
brother practioners to prescribe this remedy in all
pu.monary complaints which baffle the ordinary
mode of treatment.

Despair not though your Physicians and friends
give you up to die !
Your condition cannot be more hopeless than
that of Mrs. Rowe.
This is to certify, that I was taken with a pain
in my side and breast, attended with a distressing
cough, and for the space <>f one year grew rapidly
worse. Although I had in att« ndance three phy
sicians, one of whom was considered very skilful
all of their efforts proved alike unavailing. At
last one of the physicians came in. and decided
that I could not live more than one day longer
All of my friends believed that a few days at most
would end my earthly career !
My brother at th ; s crisis, bearing of the aston
ishing cures m.de by Dr. Rogers’ Liverwort and
Tar, went to i ihillicotbe, distant thirty miles, to
procure the above- medicine; and, stra ge to tell,
before I had used half a bottle my cougn was en
tirely cured, and when I had used two bottle* I
was able to attend my family vocations as usual.
