PROF . A. C. BARRY'S TRICOPHE
ROUS,
OR MEDICATED COMPOUND.
T:«FALLIBLE for renewing, invigorating and
a a e^P^, y in . ! l the HAIR, removing the scurf,
dandruff, and all affections of the scalp, and curing
eruptions on the skin, diseases of the glands, mus
cles and integuments, and relieving stings, cuts,
bruises, sprains, 6te. With this preparation ‘‘there
is no such word as fail.” The first journais in
America, medical men of the highest eminence,
prominent citizens of all professions, and ladies
who have used it for years in their dressing rooms
and nurseries, admit with one accord, that for im
parting vigr , gloss, luxuriance and curl to the
hair eradicating scurf and dandruff, healing
wounds, «*uring contusions, sprains, stings, &c.,
and relieving diseases of the skin, the glands and
tne m iscles.it has no equal among the multitude
of compounds advertised in the public prints, or
use,-' in private practice. In cheapness as wed as
‘ ff'oacy, Barry’s Tricopherous is unrivalled. The
immense cash sales of the article have enabled
the inventor to supply it at retail, at 25 cents per
bottle, which is from 50 to 100 per cent les9 than
the price of any other preparation for the hair now
in *ise. Ihe scien.ific treatise on the hair and the
skin, (embracing valuable diiections for the cul
ture and preservation of Nature’s choicest orna
ment,) in which each bottle is enclosed, is alone
worth the money.
I he affinity between the membranes which con
6titute the skin, and the hair which draws its sus
enance from this triple envelope is very close.—
All diseases of the hair originate in the skin of the
head. If the pores of the sea p are clogged, or if
the blood and other fluids do not circulate freely
through the sma.i . esseis which feed the root with
moisture, and impart to the fibres, the result is
scurf, dandruff', shedding of the hair, graveness,
dryness and harshness ol the ligaments, and entire
baldness, as the case may be. Stimulate the skin
to healthful action with the Tricopi erous, and the
to> pit! vessels, recovering their activity, will anni
hilate the disease. In all affections of the skin,
and of the substi ata of muscles and integuments,
the process and the effect are the same. It is
upon the skin, the muscular fibre, and the glamls,
that the Tricopherous has its specific action, and
in all affections and injury of these organs, it is a
s .vereign remedy.
Sold, in large bottles, price 25 cents, at the prm
cpal office, 107 Bi oadway, New York, and sold by
the principal Merchants and Druggists throughout

A REMARKABLE CASE.
WHEN a medicine proves so valuable as Dr.
Little's Vermifuge, it should be known to
the whole country. To a little negro child 19
months old, that had been sickly for nearly a year,
I gave three teaspoonfuls of this medicine, ac
cording to directions, in one day, and by the next
morning one hundred and ninety two large worms
were discharged. It commenced mending at once
and was soon restored. 1 have given this Vermi
fuge in several other instances with the happiest
effect.
In my neighborhood, where there is much of it
used, 1 hear it spoken of by all in the highest
terms, indeed, as never before having been equal
led. James M. Brantley.

The sac simile of the signature of Dr. W. G.
Little will be found upon the outside wrapper of
each of his medic.nes.

Among the many and important discoveries
of this eneration.is one whose fame will
be written, as with a sunbeam, in the history of
the past. SANDS' SARSAPARILLA stands
forth alone, and by its own works proclaims its
power—that mute eloquence so irresistib.y affect
ing in the appeals of the suffering for relief, has
been answered. Thousands of cases of disease
have been cured by this nvaluable medicine, su *h
as are not furnished in the records of time. These
things are wot done in secret places, or in some
ut.known town, but are perfor ned in our princi
pal cities and public places. They are brought
before the world 10 substantiate, beyond doubt, the
healing virtue s of this preparation ; and the facts
unf Ided, alt hi ugh gigantic, are as plain as the
light of day.
The Saisaparilla is combined with the most ef
fectual aids, the most saiutaiy productions, the
most potent simples of the vegetable kingdom ;
and its unprecedented success in the restoration
to health of those who had loDg pined under the
most distressing chronic maladies, has given it an
exalted character—-furnishing, as it does, evidence
of its own intrinsic value, and recommending it to
the afflicted in terms the afflicted only can know.
It has long been a most important desideratum in
the practice of meaicine, to obtain a remedy sim
ilar to this— one that would act on the liver , stom
ach, and bowelt with all the precision end potercy
of mineral preparations, yet without any of their
deleterious effects upon the vital powers of the
system Although po-sessed es powerful healing
properties, it is entirely harmless, and will not in
jure the most delicate constitution. When in per
fect health, no effect is produced by its use, ex
cept an increase of appetite; but when disease is
seated in the frame, and carrying fast its victim
along the path of life, then its mysterious influ
ence is felt and seen; it enkindles new life and
vigor, and brings health and strength to the suffer
ing and diseased.
SCROFULOUS AFFECTION OF THE EYES.
Winchester, Ky., Oct. 29, 1849.
A. B. & D. Sands— Gentlemen: I would not
have presumed to write to you, if it was not my
duty to let the public know the almost miraclous
effect your Sarsaparilla has had upon me. My
limbs were covered with ulcerous sores, so that 1
could not walk during Ibe whole spring and sum
mer. In this situation I commenced the use of
your Sarsaparilla, and after taking two bottles was
entirely cured. I must al o tell you of another
wonderiul cure. My brother was afflicted with
this scrofula in his heed, so had his physician told
him the loss of his sight was inevitable, and perm
anent blindness seemed to be his fata. Three bot
tles entirely restored his sight, and we cannot but
recommend all similarly afflicted to use Sands'
Sarsaparilla. Yours truly.

Messrs. Sands— Gentlemen: 1 consider it a du
ty due the public to make known the great bene
fit I have received from using your valuable Sar
saparilla About three years since 1 was attack
ed with Rheumatism in my shoulders, and also in
my legs, and so severe was the pain, that I was
unable to sleep. I tried all of the best medicines
I could hear of without receiving any benefit un
til through the advice of a friend 1 procured some
of your Sarsaparilla, and after using lour bottles
in the course of fifteen days I found myself en
tirely well. I have no hes tation in saying your
Sarsaparilla is the best medicine l ever took, ami
can confidently recommend it to my friends and
the public. Your obedient servant.
J. M. JESURUN.
Here is another, nearer home :
New Yore, Jan. Bth, 1850
Messrs. Sands — Gentlemen: I have great plea
sure in acknowledging to you the great benefit 1
have received from the use of your Sarsaparilla.
A subject of pulmonary disease, 1 made a voyage
to Europe, but while there continued to be afflict
ed. A few weeks alter my return, 1 was seized
with a violent hemorrhage of the lungs, and from
the debility and great prostration of strength that
followed, with the pretracted difficulty of respira
tion, 1 am entirely relieved by the use of your
Sarsaparilla, which 1 consider a most important
and truly valuable discovery in the healing art. —
.1 feel that I have not for fourteen years enjoyed
so good health as at present.
Yery gratefully yours,
S. Et SEYMORE.
