SARSAPARILLA,
PREPARED BY
J. DENNIS, M. D., AUGUSTA, GA.
DISEASES of the Liver and to purify
A? the Blood.
Dr. D. has made his preparation as pure as pos
sible. Its bitter taste corresponding with the
taste ol the.roots, proves its purity. Its beneficial
effects in diseases ol the Liver prove it to be the
most useful preparation of Saisaparilla that is
made.
The prevalence of diseases in the Southern cli
mate, arising from an inactive .‘tate of the Liver,
and the effect of this Sarsaparilla in stimulating
the Liver to increased action, causing by its alte
rative and mildly purgative effect the removal of
morbific agents from the Biood, have induced the
Proprietor to use the pure Sarsaparilla and noth
ing eUe in this preparation.
For other diseases Physicians using this prepa
ration in their practice can combine, or prescribe
with it such articles as they may consider the most
appropriate in cases miner their treatment.
As those who use the Georgia Sarsaparilla and
find benefit from its use—recommending it to
others, and the fast increasing demand, proves that
the labors of the Proprietor to make a good article
have been du y apprecia ed by S 5» uthern people,
there is t no need ol publishing certificates. North
ern preparations should not be used in the South,
unl°ss they are made freer of sweetened water
and other things than they have been.

A VOICE FROM GEORGIA.
Read the following testimony from a Physician.
Gentlemen : Your Hebrew Plaster has cured
me of pains of which 1 have suffered for twelve
years past. Daring this period I labored under an
affliction of my Loins and Side, and tried many
remedies that my own medical experience sug
gested, but without obtaining relief. At length I
used your Plaster. I will recommend the Jew
David or Hebrew Plaster to all who are suffering
from contraction ol the muscles, or permanent
pains in the side or back.
The people of Georgia have but to become ac
quainted with its virtues when they will resort to
its use. Yours, truly,

JEW DAVID'S, OR HEBREW PLASTER IN
NOR'l H CAROLINA.
Messrs. Scovil & Mead : I have been trou
bled with the Chronic Rheumatism lor the last
twelve years. On the Ist of July, 1849, 1 was so
bad that I could not turn myself in bed, and the
pain so severe that I had not slept a wink for six
days. At this time my attending physician pre
scribed the Hebrew Plaster, and it acted like a
charm; the puin left me, and I slept more than
half ol the night, and in three days 1 was able to
ride out. I consider the Hebrew Plaster the best
remedy for all sorts of pains now in use.

For the removal and permanent cure of
all diseases arising from an
IMPURE STATE OF THE BLOOD,
OR HABIT OF THE SYSTEM.
AMONG the many and important discoveries
of this eneration. is one whose fame will
be written, as with a sunbeam, in the historV of
the past. SANDS’ SARSAPARILLA stands
forth alone, and by its own works proclaims its
power—that uiute eloquence so irresistibly effect
ing in the appeals of the suffering for releif, has
been answered. Thousands of cases of disease
have been cured by this >nvaluablc medicine, such
as are not furnished in the records of lime. These
things are wot done in secret places, or in some
uufenown town, but are perfor.ned in our princi
pal cities and public places. s They are brought
before the world 10 substantiate, beyond doubt, the
healing virtues of this preparation ; and the facts
unfolded, although gigantic, are as plain as the
light of day.
The Saisaparilla is combined with the most ef
fectual aids, the most salutary productions, the
most potent simples of the vegetable kingdom j
and its unprecedented success in the restoration
to health of those who had long pined under the
most distressing chronic maladies, has given it an
exalted character—furnishing, as it does,evidence
of its own intrinsic value, andrecom rending it to
the afflicted in terms the afflicted only can know.
It has long been a most important desideratim in
the practice of medicine, to obtain a remedy sim
ilar to this —one that would act on the liver , stom
ach, and bowels with all the precision and potency
of mineral preparations, yet without any of their
deleterious effects upon the vital powers of the
system Although po-sessed of p vwerfnl healing
properties, it is entirely harmless, and will not in
jure the most delicate constitution. When in par
fect health, no effect is produced by its use, ex
cept an increase of appetite ; but when disease to
seated in the frame, and carrying fast its victim
along the path of life, then its mysterious influ
ence is felt and seen j it enkindles new life and
vigor, and brings health and strength to the suffer
ing and diseased.
SCROFULOUS AFFECTION OF THE EYES.
Winchester, Ky., Oct. 29,1849.
A. B. & D. Sands— Gentlemen: I would not
have presumed to write to you, if it was not my
duty to let the public know the almost miraclous
effect your Sarsaparilla has had upon me. My
limbs were covered with ulcerous sores, so that I
could not walk during the whole spring and sum
mer. In this situation I commenced the use of
your Sarsaparilla, and after taking two bottles was
entirely cured. I must al o tell you of another
wonderlul cure. My brother was afflicted with
this scrofula in his herd, so bad his physician told
him the loss of his sight was inevitable, and perm
anent blindness seemed to be his fate. Three bot
tles entirely restored bis sight, and we cannot but
recommend all similarly afflicted to use Sands’
Sarsaparilla. Yours truly.
BENJAMIN F. BUCKNER.
ITS POULAHITY ABROAD.
From South America.
Maracaibo, Venkzuela, April 12th, 1849.
Messrs. Sands— Gentlemen: 1 consider it a du
ty due the public to make known the great bene
fit I have received from using your valuable Sar
saparilla. About three yeais since 1 was attack
ed with Rheumatism in my shoulders, and also in
my legs, and so severe was the pain, that I was
unable to sleep. I tried all of the best medicines
I could hear of without receiving any benefit un
til through the advice of a friend 1 procured some
of your Sarsaparilla, and after using four bottles
in the course of fifteen days I found myself er
tirely well. I have no hes tation in saying your
Sarsaparilla is the best medicine l ever took, and
can confidently recommend it to my friends and
the public. Your obedient servant.
J. M. JESURUN.
Here is another, nearer home :
New York, Jan. Bth, 1850.
Messrs. Sands — Gentlemen: 1 have great plea
sure in acknowledging to you the great bf nefit 1
have received from the use of your Sarsaparilla.
A subject of pulmonary disease, 1 made a voyage
to Europe, but wh.le there continued to be afllict
ed. A few weeks alter my return. 1 was seized
with a violent hemorrhage of the lungs, and from
the debility and great prostration of strength that
followed, with the pretracted difficulty ol respira
tion, 1 am entirely relieved by the use of your
Sar-aparilla, which 1 consider a most important
and truly valuable discovery in the healing art.—
J feel that I have not for fourteen years enjoyed
so good health as at present.
Very gratefully yours, S. E» SEYMORE.
