THE GREAT REMEDY, I NOR RHEUMATISM, Geut, Pain in the Side, Hip, Back, Limbs and Joints, Scrofu la, King’s Evil, White Swellings, Hard Tumors, Stiff Joints, and all fixed Pains whatever. Where this Plaster is applied pain cann «t exist. These Plasters possess the advantage of being fmt up in air-tight boxes —hence they retain their uil virtues in all climates. Have you Friends going to California t By all means advise them to take along a supply of this Plaster, it may save them hundreds of dol lars, if not their lives, as the exposures which they hare to endure iu the mines is sure to bring on dis ease, which might be easily cured by the use of this celebrated Plaster, for the want of which many have been obliged to quit their labors and fall into the hands of the physicians, who, by their extravagantly high charges, soon take away the hard earnings of the-bravest laboring man. By sleeping in tents or on the ground, Rheumatism, Spinal Disease, Stiff Joints, Lame Back or Side, and all like diseases, are sure to trouble them, and many times entirely lay them up, when the sim ple application of this Plaster would give them iin mediate relief, and enable them to procead with their labor# without delay. It has been very beneficial in cases of weak ness, such as Pain and Weakness in the Stomach, Weak Limbs, Affections of the Spine, Female Weakness, &c. No female, subject to pain and weakness in the back or side, should be without it. Married ladies, in delicate situations, find great relief from constantly wearing this Plaster. The applications of the Plaster between the shoulders has been found a certain remedy so Coids,Coughs, Phthisic, and Lung Affections, in their primary stages. It destroys inflammation by perspiration. A VOICE FROM GEORGIA. Read the following testimony from a Physician. Gentlemen : Your Hebrew Plaster has cured me of pains of which 1 have suffered for twelve years past. During this period I labored under an affliction of my Loins and Side, and tried many remedies that my own medical experience sug gested, but without obtaining relief. At length I used your Plaster. I will recommend the Jew David or Hebrew Plaster to all who are suffering from contraction of the muscles, or permanent pains in the side or back. The people of Georgia have but to become ac quainted with its virtues when they will resort to its use. Yours, truly, m: w. walker, m. d , Forsythe, Munroe county, Ga. To Messrs. Scovii & Mead, New Orleans, La. JEW DAVID’S, OR HEBREW PLASTER IN NORTH CAROLINA. Messrs. Scovil & Mead : I have been trou bled with the Chronic Rheumatism for the last twelve years. On the Ist of July, 1849, 1 was so bad that 1 could not turn myself in bed, and the pain so severe that 1 had not slept a wink for six days. Atthistimemy physician pre scribed the Hebrew Plaster, and fit acted like a charm; the pain left me, and I slept more than half of the night, and in three days 1 was able to ride out. I consider the Hebrew Plaster the best remedy for all sorts of paius now in use. G. W McMFNN. Hendersonville, N. C., Aug. 16, 1850. Beware of Counterfeits and base Imitations ! In fact, it seems to be the long sought Phi’osopher’s Stone, or universal sol vent; seeming a magical preparation, its opera tion being of the most astonishing character. A common sized washing may be done with one gill of this Fluid, in less than two hours. It softens and removes the dirt, leaving the articles of the mo3l brilliant whiteness. It beiug as harmless in its operations as pure water, and clothing will wear mueh longer than when 1 übbed to pieces by the common method of washing. This Fluid is a powerful agent, to be used in all cases where soap is required, particularly for cleansing milk utensils, cleaning windows and paint, scouring floors ; in short, it is beyond a pre cedent, as its use is universal in the washing world. INFALLIBLE for renewing, invigorating and beautifying the HAIR, removing tie scurf, dandruff, and all aflectioosof the scalp, and curing eruptions on the skin, diseases of the glands, mus cles and integuments, and relieving stings, cuts, bruises, sprains, dec. Withtliispreparation -‘there is no such word as fail." The first journals in America, medical men of the highest"eminence, prominent citizens of ail professions, and ladies who have used it for years in their dressing rooms and nurseries, admit with one accord, that for im parting vigr , gloss, luxuriance and curl to the hair eradicating scurf and dandruff', healing wounds, euring contusions, sprains, stings, &c., and relieving diseases of the skin, the glands and the muscles,ir has no equai among the multitude of compounds advertised in the public prints, or use s J in private practice. In cheapness as well as efficacy, Barry’s Tricopherous is unrivalled. The immense cash sales of the article have enabled the inventor to supply it at retail, at 25 cents per bottle, which is from 50 to 100 per cent less than the price of any other preparation for the hair now in use. The scientific treatise on the hair and the skin, (embracing valuable directions for the cul ture and preservation of Nature’s choicest orna ment,) in which each bottle is enclosed, is alone worth the money. The affinity between tko membranes which con stitute the skin, and the hair which draws its sus enance from this triple envelope is very close.— All diseases of the hair originate in the skin of the head. If the pores of the sca:p are clogged, or if the blood and other fluids do not circulate freely through the smau , esseis which feed the root with moisture, and impart to the fibres, the resuit is scurf, dandruff, shedding of the hair, graveuess. dryness and harshness of the ligaments, and entire baldness, as the case may be. Stimulate the skin to healthful action with the TricopL-erous, and the torpid vessels, recovering their activity, will anni hilate the disease. In all affections of the skin, and of the substrata of muscles and integuments, the process and the effect are the same. It is upon the skin, the muscular fibre, and the glands, that the Tricopherous has its specific action, and in all affections and injury of these organs, it is a sovereign remedy. Sold, in large bottles, price 25 cents, at the prin cipal office, 137 Bioadway, New York, and sold by the principal Merchants and Druggists throughout the United States and Canada dxcly jan 21 GEORGIA SARSAPARILLA, PREPARED BY J. DENNIS, M. !>., AUGUSTA, GA. J_?<OR DISEASES of the Liver and to purify J? the Blood. Dr. I), has made his preparation as pure as pos sible. Its bitter taste corresponding with the taste ol the|roots, proves its purity. Its beneficial effects in diseases ol the Liver prove it to be the most useful preparation of Sarsaparilla that is made. The prevalence of diseases iu the Southern cli mate, arising from an inactive state of the Liver, and the effect of this Sarsaparilla in stimulating the Liver to increased action, causing by its alte rative and mildly purgative effect the removal of morbific agents from the Blood, have induced the Proprietor to use the pure Sarsaparilla and noth ing else in this preparation. For other diseases Physicians using this prepa ration in their practice can combine, or prescribe with it such articles as they may consider tbe most appropriate in cases under their treatment. As those who use the Georgia Sarsaparilla and find benefit from its use—recommending it to others, and the fast increasing demand, proves that the labors of the Proprietor to make a good article have been dtoy by Southern people, there of publishing certificates. North ern preparations should not be used in the South, unless they are made freer of sweetened water and other things than they have been. Price, $1 per bottle; 6 bottles for $5. IN QUART BOTTLES. For the lemoval and permanent cure of ALL DISEASES ARISING FROM AN IMPURE STATE OF THE BLOOD, OR HABIT OF THE SYSTEM. AMONG the many and important discoveries of this < encratiou, is one whose fame will be written, as with a sunbeam, in the history of the past. SANDS’ SARSAPARILLA stands forth alone, and by its own works proclaims its power—that mute eloquence so irresistibly effect ing in the appeals of the suffering for releif, has been answered. Thousands of cases of disease have been cured by this invaluable medicine, such as are not furnished in the records of time. These things are riot done in secret places, or in some unknown town, but are performed in our princi pal cities and public places. ;They are brought before the world to substantiate, beyond doubt, the healing virtues of this preparation ; and the facts unfolded, alth< ugh gigantic, are as plain as the light of day. The Saisaparilla is combined with the most ef fectual aids, the most salutary productions, "the most potent simples of the vegetable kingdom ; and its unprecedented success in the restoration to health of those who had long pined under the most distressing chronic maladies, has given it an exalted character—furnishing, as it does, evidence of its own intrinsic value, and re com rending it to the afflicted in terms the afflicted only can know. It has long been a most important desideratim in the practice of medicine, to obtain a remedy sim ilar to this—one that would act on the liver, stom ach, and bowels with all the precision and potency of mineral preparations, yet without auy of their deleterious effects upon the vital powers of the system Although po-sessed of powerful healiug properties, it is entirely hatmless, and will not in jure the most delicate constitution. When in par fect health, no effect is produced by its use, ex cept an increase of appetite ; but when disease to seated in the frame, and carrying fast its victim along the path of life, then its mysterious influ ence is felt and seen ; it, enkindles new' life and vigor, and brings heaith’and strength to the suffer ing and diseased. SCROFULOUS AFFECTION OF THE EYES. Winchester, Ky , Oct. 29,1849. A. B. & D. Sands— Gentlemen: I would not have presumed to write to you, if it was not my duty to let the public know the almost miraclous effect your Sarsaparilla has had upon me. My limbs were covered with ulcerous sores, so that I could not walk during die whole spring and sum mer. In this situation I commenced the use of your Sarsaparilla, and after taking two bottles w as entirely cured. 1 must al o tell you of another wonderful cure. My brother was afflicted with this scrolnla in his herd, so bad his physician told loss of his sight was inevitable, and perm anent blindness seemed to be his fata. Three bot tles entirely restored his sight, and we cannot but recommend all similarly afflicted to use Sands’ Sarsaparilla. Yours truly. BENJAMIN F. BUCKNER. ITS POULARITY ABROAD. From South America.
