Soil of the South. —We doubt whether among all our exchanges there is on? of greater usefulness than the above agricultural paper, published at Columbus, under the management of Messrs Peabody and Chambers, (monthly) at one dollar a year. We transfer to our columns this week two or three articles, any one of which we consider worth the subscription price. A common objection to agricultural journals in the South has been, that their fine-spun theories, which look well enough on paper, could not be carried into operation here.—This paper is free from this objection, being eminently practical in its character. We trust that the planters of our State will testify their appreciation of this high ly useful and ably conducted work, by making liberal subscriptions. It is well w orthy their support.— Herald. The following testimonials, selected from hundreds of similar import, will serve to show the value of the pre paration, and the estimation in which it is held by those who have given it a trial: _ New York, Sept. 22. 1850. Prof. Barry,— Dear Sirl have been afflicted with a cutaneous eruption of the scalp, of a most aggravated character, for the last sixteen years, and during that pe riod have had the advice of some of the most eminent physicians, and have tried all the preparations for the hair and skin now known, without the least benefit. I was advised by a friend to try your Tricopherous. I did so. as a last resort, and, to my surprise and gratifica tion, found myself cured in about two months. Such was the violence of the disorder that at times I was par tially blind. Respectfully yours, G. V. M. RAPELYE, 140 Columbia Street. Brooklyn. New- York, Oct. 23, 1850. Prof. Barry, —My Dear Sir : —About two years ago my hair came out a great deal, and my head was much affected with dandruff.
