Augusta Market, June 20, P. M.
COTTON.—There has been a fair demand for
Cotton to-day, at full prices for the better grades.
The lower qualities are but little enquired for. We
continue to quote Fair 9j ; Middling Fair 9 cents.
CHARLESTON, Juno 20.— Cotton. —Our previous
report closed upon a quiet market. The demand
throughout the week had run principally on the bet
ter classifications, which from their great scarcity
fully sustained their position, while the lower grades
were neglected, and during this period, declined in
value lto jc. Fair and Fully Fair at the time was
quoted at 9| a 10c. No new feature has transpired
during tho week under review, except that the
sales are embraced in even a more narrow compass
than characterized the business of the preceding
week; prices, however, have been well maintained,
and we renew the quotations of the 13th instant,
which will give a fair index of the state of tho mar
ket, at its close yesterday.
The transactions as stated in our previous issue,
have been confined chiefly to the higher grades for
Spanish account. The operations averaged about
450 bales per day, making the total sales of the
week 2745 bales, against the receipt in the same
time of 3995 bales. The sales were as follows, viz :
4 hales at 6; 19 at 61; 9G at 6J; 51 atOj; 104 at
12at6|; 260 at 7; 50at7J; 6 at 7j; 29 at 73; 100
at 7j; 35 at 73; 130 at 8; 76 at 8$; 100 at 8j; 100
at 8j; 11 atßs; 50 at 83; 126 at 9; 49 at 9s; 23 at
9\; 157 at 9f; 642 at 9|; 100 at 9J ; and 412
hales at 10 cents. We quote Middling to Good
Middling, 8j a 9; Middling Fair, 9j a 9£; and Fair
and Fully Fair, 93 a 10 cents.
Corn. —The receipts since our last have been
limited to some 3000 busheLs North Carolina, which
have been sold at prices ranging from 60 to 70 cts.
as in quality. The last sales of Maryland were
made within the range of present quotations. There
is a full supply on the market.
Flour. —The transactions during the week have
been very limited. The market has been depressed,
• and the week closed with prices rather in favor oj
■fcuyers. The sales have been confined almost ex
clusively to Baltimore brands, at prices ranging
from 4J to ss| cash and credit. Received since our
last 600 barrels.
Bacon. —The market continues very much de
pressed for Sides. The sales comprise about 100
hhds in three lots, at 9;je. and in one instance at a
discount for cash. We have no transactions to re
port in Shoulders, beyond the amount required for
the retail trade, and quote nominally 7j a Bc., the
latter price is an extreme rate. See quotations.
Sugars — all descriptions have been neg
lected this week, and prices are nominal. There
was a sale yesterday at auction of 34 hhds. very
common Muscovado, which went off at prices rang
ing from 4| to 4 11-16ths, principally at tho former
price.
Coffee. —The transactions have been limited to
some 300 hags Rio, in different lots, which have
been sold at prices within the range of9i a 10c.,
.jnostly at the former price.
Molasses. —Received since our last, 155 hhds, and
JO tierces Cuba, the hulk of which has been run off
from the wharf in lots to suit purchasers—the hhds.
at 23 to 24c, and the tierces at 25. Prime Cuba and
New Orleans, from store, bring 25, and 40c. for the
latter.
Freights. —The rate of freight for Cotton in square
hags to Liverpool, has been reduced to |d. at which
rate vessels loading make but slow progress. The
rates Coastwise are nominal. There is very little
Co Ron or Rice offering.
SAVANNAII,*JunejI9.— Cotton. —There was a
better demand for Cotton yesterday, than for some
days previous, and full prices were paid. The sales
amounted to 283 bales, particulars as follows: —42
at 6; 10 at 6£; 1 at 7£; 38 at 8; 25 at 8|; 65 at 8j;
57 at 8£; 19 at 8f; and 26 at 9 cents.

THE FRENCH MIXTURE.
IT HAS BEEN a source of much annoyance to
Physicians, that no remedy had been devised
for the prompt cure of Chronic diseases of the kid
neys and bladder and venereal affections, (Gon
orrhoea.) To a very great extent, and far in advance
of the day, this has been accomplished by the in
troduction of tho French Mixture.
It is not only a safe, but an invaluable medicine
recently introduced for the cure of this disease in
its various forms.
For the purpose of adapting the remedy to all the
forms of the disease, and to the various peculiari
ties of the constitution, it has been found necessary
to use the medicine as modified in the forms of Nos.
1 and 2. The first for the acute, and No, 2 in the
chronic form of the disease. It is in the latter form
(Blennorrhcea) that so much difficulty has been ex
perienced in curing it, and which is by far the most
common.
For the cure of Flour Albus and kidney com
plaints a bottle of No. 2 of this medicine is a sov
ereign remedy, as a day or two’s use will prove.
The sac simile of the signature of Dr. W. G. Lti
tle will be found upon the outside wrapper of each
of his medicines.
Sold wholesale and retail by the proprietor, at the
Manufacturing Depot, No. 264 Market street, Phil
