In the au umn, when the roots are taken out
of the ground, s leet all the small side roo s
from 9 to 12 inches in 1. ngth, and as thick as a
quill,or thereabouts; tie them in bunches, and
preserve them in a place projected from the
frost, during the w inter. The planting is com
menced in the begining or middle of April.
In dry weather, divide the ground into beds,
