This Town is located at or near the head of the Inclined Plane 120 miles from Charleston, and is elevated about 500 feet above the itevel of Charleston, and wilhin a quarter of a nvile of the "Coker Springs.” The country about is hilly healthiness ol the situation appears to be mmoubt • I. The Main Road lead ng from Greenville, Pep. dlcton, Abbeville and Edgefield to Charleston, passes through the Town and also the Great Metropolitan Mail trom Washington to New Orleans.
