appears to have been caused by the steam which
they inhaled, tor their bodies showed no marks
of externa! injury.
It was fortunate there was so many of the
passengers upon deck or the const quinces would
have been still more distressing. Mr. Roge rs.
' one of the victims of this accident, is a son of
Dr Rogers, of Massachusetts, and we are in
formed, had undertaken the voyage for the pur
pose of marrying a young lady of that State, to
whom he was affianced.

us in possession of Liverpool dates to the 6th Dec.
shewing a decline in that market off to Id.—which
completely suspended operations. There was bill
little done, and from the feelings expressed by pur
chasers, we do not think much will hedon*, until the
market declines I to 1J cents in price. We do not

with all the provsions he con'd spare. 16th inst. on
the inner edge of thegulf, fell in with the brig Wil- I
liam, for Savannah out five days; supplied with some :
