7SJ3 J T AILORS.—The Subscrib ir having been
J£L made agent for the sale of Mr. James 11. Chap
pell's u Spherical System'' ofCutting forthe useofTai
lors, would hereby inform the trade that be is now
ready to order and teach the system to ail such as
will make personal application to him. Having used
the system for more than eighteen months, be feels
perfectly safe in recommending it to the profession
as being perfect. It is founded on entire different
principles from any other system that has ever
been offered to the trade. I have used Air. J. G.
33'ilson’s, A. F. Sagues’, O. Yladison,’*, A. YVard’s,
E. Mincster's of London, and T. P. Williams fy Co’s
systems of Cutting, and until 1 became acquainted
with 3lr. Chappell’s Spherical System and Elastic
Square, 1 never had any assurance of what the
event ofmy labors would be: bat now, my meas
ure obtained, I know the event will be a perfect,
smooth and graceful garment; and that too, without
paying the least attention to the form of the custom
er—for all this is done by the aid of the “ Elastic
Square and Sperical Aleasures,” and they alone es
tablish every point, and on material and rational
principles. 1 should not speak in such decided
terms, were it not that I am perfectly acquainted
with the system, and have applied it to men of eve
ry form that can be mentioned, and have found
that it applied with equal certainty to all forms.
Any person on examining Air. Chappell’s System a
few moments can plainly see that it does at once
obviate every difficulty in the art of fitting the hu
man shape. \3 r ith this system you can prosecute
your business safely and happily—every point of
the garment is obtained with perfect accuracy—for
your way is marked out as plain as the Carpenter’s
or any other branch of mechanism, who measure one
article to obtain another like it.
I have several certificates in my possession from
all the first tailors in Philadelphia and other north
ern cities, who have accepted 3lr. Chappell’s sys
tem, most of whom used Mr. Ward’s but have laid
it aside as useless.
Air. Chappell has offered a challenge or premi
um of one thousand dollars to any person who will
produce a more perfect system for the specified use;
or one more accurate or better calculated for the
practical tailor. WILLIA3I FIELDING.

by the above Balsora of Health.
John S. Miller.
Dear Sir: I had been troubled with a constant
sickness and pain in my stomah, which also occa
sioned a tremor and weakness and pain across my
back, for which I used a great deal of Medicine
without any relief. I was prevailed on by a friend
to try your Balsam of Health, which 1 procured
from our Agent in Hagers Town, and, to my great
astonishment, before 1 had used the contents of one
bottle, was able to eat my daily meals with as much
appetite and satisfaction as ever, and can now attend
to my daily work as much as ever 1 could before.
JOSEPH C. COXSON.
Wasliington County, February 10, 1335.
About two years ago I was severely afflicted with
Dyspepsia, which I had for the last fifteen years
previous to the above named time, which was very
much increased by ray having a blood vessel ruptu
red upon my lungs, occasioned by lifting—which
increased my complaint, Dyspepsia and general de
bility and weakness, to such a degree, that two or
three years previous to my using the Garlegant
Balsam, I never ate a meal but my stomach became
so painful that I had immediately to throw it up.
Seeing Garlegant’s Balsam of Health advertised, I
was induced to try a bottle ; after taking the very
first dose it appeared to strengthen my stomach;
and every dose of the first bottle helped me so
much that in the course of a few days my stomach
began to retain and digest every thing I ate. I con
tinued to use the Balsam until I used seven bottles,
which cured me entirely, and restored me to perfect
health, which I have enjoyed ever since, and not
before for fifteen years. I cheerfully recommend it
to all persons who are afflicted with Dyspepsia or
debility of stomach. Given under my hand this

Dear Sir—l have used the Balsam of health which
I procured from you. with groat benefit. If not
with entire relief. When I procured it, I was sorely
afflicted with Dyspepsia, attended by all its distres
sing symtoms, head ache, giddiness, heart burn and
the thousand nervous affections which accompany
it, in its worst stages. At times, such w r as the de
bility occasioned, that I was bed ridden. I Blink I
can say that the first relief, if not the entire cure,
was produced by the use of the Balsam.

In presenting this useful remedy to the Public, the Pro

Messrs. Moffat, Plummer if Co.
Gentlemen —After having tried, by the recommendation
of my friends, almost every medicine for a cough, without
the least relief, 1 had recourse to your New England
Cough Syrup, and am enabled to say, with much thank
fulness, that it lias cured me of one of the most obstinate
coughs I ever knew, and shall feel it to be a duly to re
commend it to every one whom 1 find in need of so valua
ble a medicine. Yours respectfully,
JOHN P. STEVENS
Boston, Nov. 20, 1831.
I have the satisfaction and pleasure of informing you
that tire bottle of New England Cough Syrup, which 1
procuied of you on the 23d of April, has entirely relieved
me from a very severe cough which had afflicted me for a
short time past. After using a variety of medicine, and
finding no permanent relief, 1 was induced by the advice
of rny friends to try your Syrup. The result I have already
stated ; it succeeded beyond my expectation ; and 1 cheer
fully recommend it as a very valuable medicine for all
those who may be afflicted with similar complaints.
Y’ours respectfully, CHARLES RUGGLES.
Boston, May 1, 1835.
It gives me great pleasure to be able to add my testi
mony in favor of your New England Cough Syrup, two
bottles of which having entirely cured my cough which
was so severe that my physician advised me to spend the
coming winter in a southern climate, but the fortunate use
of the Syrup will preclude the necessity.
Y'ours, &e. JOSEPH BRADLEE
Boston, September 1, 1834.
The Proprietor would add, that he is constantly receiv
ing numerous testimonials of the value and efficacy of thus
remedy.

TiiirriFS CONUEXTRATED SARSA
PARILLA,
BA OR the euro of Scrofula, 3Tercurial, Syphilitic,
JL and other diseases, which depend upon Scro
fulous llahit of Pody,is prepared by anew process,
■without boilinc, and is warranted to contain, in a
concentrated form, the active principles of the root,
obtained from the most approved -peeies of smilax.
Its efficac y lias been repeatedly tested in private
practice in the successful ircalracnt of tbe worst
forms of the diseases, for the cure of which Sarsa
parilla is recommended, after other preparations of
that medicine, the Panacea, Ac., had been used
without effect. A number of rases of extensive ul
ccrations, and affections of the bones, in simple
Scrofula, and in Mercurial and Syphilitic diseases,
have been permanently cured by its use in tliree
m< ; fhs, without any oilier treatment, except the
most simple applications to the parts diseased. A
trial of two or three bottles, in similar cases, will
prove the efficacy and importance ofthc preparation.
It has been found particularly useful after calo
mel, where that medicine lias beenjriyen too freely
in scrofulous habits, or in tbe cuqflßf a certain dis
ease. Itis admirably calculatedjwfsuch eases, to
remove all disease from the body, and restore the
usual vigour of the constitution; and may be taken
with safety and advantage when the system is mer
curialized. The use of one or two bottles, on ordi
nary occasions of the kind, will prove an effectual
security against secondary diseases; and, in recent
cases, will effect a perfect cure, after three or four
doses of calomel, of five or eight grains each, night
and morning, have been taken, followed by salts, and
the usual local treatment.
