-f >*N ,l,e . ein : i:£ec!Uh of May, 1 SUN, those now truly
" celebrated PILLS were first made known in
the IxiTKK Statks, although in Europe they had
’’ been previously befove the public nearly a century
' 1 The American public naturally viewed them with
- I suspicion, but as on trial they were found what
- | they ftrofesreti, it was soon displaced by the grent
r est confidence. They have securer] this character.
too, under very adverse circumstances, having to
1 contend with the base slanders promulgated by
B those interested in keeping mankind in a state of
- error as regards the functions of their bodies. Dr.
' Brandreth would here impress on this iriends, and
t!ie public generally, that however different may
be the action o’s .the Rills at different times, that
such different action arises aoi from any alteration
in the Lois, but from the stale of the body : they
should therefore he persevered in until the action
j is uniform ; for they are an effectual assistant of
I nature, having the same kind of action on the hu
j man body dial storms and hurricanes have upon
air, or that tiie tides have upon tiie ocean; they
j purify. What so judicious as tiie copying of na
ture ? W e see, when she wishes to become puri- j
j Ged, that she puts herself in commotion, which has |
I the purifying effect. And so wo, to inunce purity j
{ i nour bodies, bring about a natural commotion by

: ! tv ho have adopted tins course, and who for this pur
| pose have used these Pills, that they were in the
right, because the result has been sound health, or
in other words, every organ has become restored
toa state of purity consistent with its functions;
and ail hough there are many whose bodies are in
ucli a state of debility ami suffering, that all winch
can reasonably be expected is temporary relief,
nevertheless, many persons who have commenced
| with them under the most trying circumstances of
bodily affliction, when every other means and me
j dicine have proved altogether unavailing, have
I been restored to health and happiness from their
i use, and the consequence is, they are now recom
j mended by thousands of persons whom they have
j cured of Consumption, Influenza, Colds, indiges
' tion. Dyspepsia, Head Ache, and a sense of lul-

11,000 TES TIMONIALS liave been received
from individuals of the highest respectability, who
have been cured by the use of these Pills since
their introduction into the United States.
Although Dr. B. has enumerated by name the
above diseases, he is nevertheless of opinion with
his grandfather, the late celebrated i)r. William
j Brandreth, that as there is only ONE principle oi
! disease, which is an impurity yf the Blood, which
j by impeding the circulation, brings on inilamma-
I lion, and consequent derangement in the organ, or
! part where such impurity oi the bloo ; settles; and
that it is the different appearances which this in
flammation or derangement put on, that have cans
ed medical men to designate such appearances by
various names, but which are in feet, only the same
disease, with more or less virulence. Dr. William
Grandretii was.so fuily convinced of the truth ol
tlie above simple theory, that he spent 30 years in
experiment and laborious research into the medi
cinal properties of the numerous plants composing
the Vegetable Kingdom; his object being no com
pose a medicine which should at once purify, and
remove by purgation all bad humors from the blood
by the stomach and bowels, as bv the continuation
of the use of such a medicine, such humors are
sure to he carried off, and the blood necessarily as
sume a state of purity ; and whoever lakes these
Pills, and perseveres with them, will be satislied
that Ur. William Brandreth fully attained Ins phi
lanthropic object, it is now an absolute and known
fact, that every disease, whether it be in the head
or feet, in the brain or meanest member; whe
ther it bo an outward ulcer, or an inward abscess,
1 arc all, though arising from many causes, reducible
to this one grand effect, namely, impurity of blood.
In many cases where the dreadful ravages of ul
ceration had laid bare ligament and bone, and
where to all appearance no human means could
save life, have patients by the use of these Pills,
been restored to good health ; the devouring dis
ease having been completely eradicated.
Inconsequence of the pleasantness of their ope
ration, and the dose not generally being required to
be more than four or five Pills, (merely keeping in
view the drain upon the humors,) they are fast su
perseding every other preparation of sirmlarimporl
Cases may occur where it will be very proper lo lake
twenty dr even thirty or more Pills ; this must, how
ever, be considered with reference only to highly
inflammatory appearances, or when great pain is
experienced.
As Brandreth’s Pills prevent Scurvy, Costiveness
and its consequences, seafaring men, and all travel
j lers to foreign regions, should not be without them ,
j in order to resort to on every occasion of illness, ’
N. B.—Time or climate affects them not. ,
