! To his Excellency, Charles J. McDonald,
Governor of the State of Georgia:
! Sir—Enclosed is a statement of the condition of
; this institution on the 6th instant, also a list of the
1 stockholders.
The requirements of the Acts ofthe23J December
i last, relative to the indebtedness of the Stockholders
! and Directors of the Institution, is omitted because
• it is believed a compliance would be a violation of
confidence, and particularly so to those so indebted, i
before the passage of the Acts referred to. On this |
subject, however, it may be proper to observe, that |
the Stockholders of this Institution meet annually, i
and examine its condition and make such by-laws |
for the government of the Board of Director?, aa is |
deemed proper. One of these by-laws adopted at |
their last meeting in November, make It imperative !
that in future no individual or firms account shall '
exceed Ten Thousand Dollars in local paper. It j
I will thus ba perceived that this Institution, without ■
exposing the accounts of its customers, has in some j
measure conformed to the requirements.
I am. verv respectful! v,
