A letter received from slr Henry. Cashier of the
Branch at Augusta, was also laid before tin* Board,
communicating tin* opinion of dm Directors al that

die Banks by the two acts of the last Legislature,
by which it appears that there is a coincidence with
those entertained here.

The Board of Directors confidently (if)irm, that

Legislature, have not been called for by any im
proper conduct o dm part of this Bank, and that

charter, and individual rights,—and ns this Bank
and the oilier Banks of the city have made unceas
ing efforts to preserve 11 good currency, it is confi
dently Imped dial die candid, fair and honest expo
: siiion which they have semi annually made oftlieir
state and condition, and which they will continue
1 to do, will sn.-lain the reputation and high standing
oi die Bunk and nil its Branches. The Board, how •
ever, will he ever ready and willing lo expose the
hooks,and exhibit the condition of the Bank, and
its entire management to the most scrutinizing ex
amination of commissioners that tin* 1 egislalnrc
; may appoint for that purpose, as they cheerfully
did upon 11 previous occasion, vv’ieii a former Le- 1
gislature directed an investigation into the affairs
of all the Banks of the Slate.
