GALVANIC RINGS
AND
31 A<;N£ TI C F LIIII> .
r g AHIS remarkable inveuliou, which has received the
1 3 almost universal approbation of the medical pro
! feV-iou of (treat Britain, comprises an entirely new ap
plication of Galvanism, as a remedial agent, by means of
which the ordinary Galvanic Ba tenes, Electric and Mag
netic Machines, &t., are entirely dispensed with, and the
mysterious powers of Galvanism applied without any
of the objections which are inseperabie from the gene
ral mode now in use. The strong doses, and at irregu
lar intervals, in which Galvanism is applied by the .Ma
chines, his be-u pronounced, aferafair and impartial
trial, lobe decidedly injurious, and it was to remedy
this radical defect. Hint this new application was pro
jected. which after unceasing toil and perseverance, has
been brought to its pre.-ent slate of perlection. The
Galvanic Rings answer all the purposes of the most
expensive Machines, and in many other respects are
more sake and certain hi accomplishing the desired
elfect.
The Galvanic Kings, used in connection with the
M agnetic Fluid, a e confidently recommended in all
D SOKDI.RS WHICH ARISE FROM AN ENFEEBLED OK CN-
I HEATHY STATE OF THE NERVOUS OH VITAL SYSTEM, and
these i oinplaints are among the most painful and uni
versal to which we are subject. They arise, without ex
ception, from one simple cause—a derangement of the
Nervous system—and it was m these cases that other
“ remedies” having so often failed, a ne-.v atenl whs
greatly needed, which u is confidently believed, has
been found in the proper and judicious application of
I Galvanism.
i The Galvanic Kings have been used with entire suc
cess in all cases of Rheumatism, acute or chronic, ap
plying tothc bead, face or limbs • Gout, Tic-Doloreux,
Tooth vciiK. Bronchitis, Vertigo, Nervous oh Bi< r
Headache, Indigestion. Paralyses. Palsy. Epilepsy,
Fits, Cramp, Palpitation of the H f.akt, Appopi.exy,
Stiffness ■ y Joints. Spinal Complaints. Kumuago,
N'iuhalgia. Nervous Tremors, Dizziness of the
Head. Pains in the Chest and Side. General Debili
ty, Deficiency of Nervous and Physical Energy,
and all Nervous Disorders. In cases of confirmed
Dyspepsia, which is simply a nervous deraiufoment of
the digestive organs, they have ln-en found equally suc
cessful. Their extraordinary etfccis upon the system
must be witnes.-ed lobe believed, and as a certain pre
ventive for the preceding complaints (hey are equal
ly recommended. The Kings are of different prices,
being made of all sizes, and of various ornamental p.-il
tcrus, and can be worn by the mostdelicale female w ilhont
the slightest ineonvenienee. In fact the sensation is
rather agreeable than otherwise.
The C.alvauic Kelts, Bracelets, Bands,
Barters, Necklaces, Arc#
In some cases of a very severe character and of long
standing ihe power as applied by the Galvanic Rings
is not sudicient to arrc.-lthc progress of disease and nl:i
inately to restore health. Tile improved modification in
the Galvan c Belts, Brace kts, &c., entirely reme
dies this objection ; any degree of power that is required
i can readily be obtained, and no complaint which the
nuslerious agent of Galvanism can elfect will fail lo be
permanently relieved. These articles are adapted to the
waist, arms, wrists, limbs ancles or any part of ilie body
with perfect convenience. The Galvanic Necklaces
are n-ed with greater benefit in cases of Bronchitis or
affections of ilie throat generally ; also i% eases of Ner
vous Deafness; and with almost uniform success as a
preventive for Apoplexy, Epileptic Fits, and similar
complaints.
C'liri tic’s >l:ij:netic Fluid*
Is issued in connection with the Galvanic Rings, and
all their modifications. This composition has been pro
noiincrd by the French Chemist.- to be one of the most
extraordinary discoveries of modern science, it s be
lieved to poss -ss a remarkable power of kendekiik; THE
Nerves sensitive toGalvaiuc Action, by these means
causing a circulation of the influence at the seat of dis
ease, and thus giving rapid and permanent relief. No
other composition in chemistry is know'll to produce the
same effector to impart a similar property to the nervous
system by mean*of an outward local application. The
j Magiietic Fluid eontainsnorliiiigrapanle of ihe slight
| est injury, its application is agreeable, and it is harmless
in its action as it is beneficial in its result. Full explana
tion.- and directions accompany it. The combined in
volitions are in every way perfectly liarmla*.-j they are
at prices within reach of ull, and the discoverer only re
quests a fair trial, as a lost of their surprising efficacy
and permanent benefit.

1 These articles form another valuable application of
| the mvsterious iiiHneac'c of Galvanism. They are an
important adjunct lo the genuine Galvanic Kings and
their modifications, acting upon the same principle, hut
h iving this advantage of more local applies ion. They
are confidently recommended a* a valuable addition in
t|je speedy cure of Rheumatism, acute or chronic ; in
ail nervous complaints, and as a positive remedy in cases
of Pain and Weakness i * the Chest or Back. Pain in the
Side, in Asthma ic Affections, and in Weakness or Op
pression of the Pulmonary Organs. In Spinal Com
plaints; their effects are of the most decided character,
and they have often been used with complete success.
Thev are also of the greatest advantage in Pains and
Weakness of the Breast, and are highly recommended
for many of those com plaints to which females are
especially liable. As an effectual means for Ttrepgtheu

causes; ii.-a certain aid in Constitutional Weakness, as a
| Preventive for Colds and in all affections of tile Chest
generally the Galvanic Birengt ening Plaster will be
I found of great and permaueiilad vantage. In a few Words,
i it embraces all the virtues of the best tonic preparation

Tarrytown, Aug. 9, 1844. i
Dear Doctor—lt is difficult to find words to express the !
' gratitude which I feel towards you for the interest you |
j have taken to relievo me in my distress, in the year |
18-12 1 contracted a heavy cold, which finally settled on
my lungs; in a few months after 1 commenced coughing'
! and raising offensive matter, which smell very had. j
j Having heard that Sherman's Lozenges were good for a
| cough 1 tried a few boxes of them, but they bad not the
least effect on me. I then called in the best physician in the
place, who attended me a few mouths, but without sue
' cess ; I then saw an advertisement in one of thc city j
papers of Wistar’s Balsam of Wild Cherry, of which I
; purchased three bottles, at the corner of Fulton and Nas
sau streets, bui 1 could not perceive ti e least beneficial
effect from it, on the contrary 1 think it was a great in
jury to me. Shortly after n-iug it I commenced raising |
blood in large quantities; 1 was taken down sick anil
confined to the bouse for three months, during which
time 1 lost my appetiie and fell away very fast; 1 was ,
then induced lo consult Dr. Curtisof New York, (one of \
the best physicians in the city,) but he could do me no j
good. I ag..iii become worse, and was confined to the (
house all last winter and spring, and I gave up ail hope of j
ever getting any better, as 1 again raised blood and my i
cough was very severe, together with a pain in my breast
| and under the shoulder blade. My friends now gave up
i all hopcof my recovering, and thought every day was
j the last. About this time I heard of your BALSAM OF
1 LIVERWORT being good for consumption, but I was
like many others, and was fearful that it might be a regu
lar humbug; 1 however finally consented to try it, as !
thought it could make me no worse. My brother th u |
purchased a bottle of it at 375 Bowery, N. V. and I coni- j
inputted taking it. ami by the time 1 had used one bottle !
full I could sleep all night, and in the morning 1 bad an
appetite for my breakfast. 1 still keep on taking ii anil
find great benefit from it—the pain in my breast is entire
ly go ie, and I raise no more blood. Within the last two
months 1 have gamed in weight six pounds and much in j
strong h. I would therefore advise all who hat e any )
