MAGNETIC FLUID.
i fJMHIS remarkable invention, which has received (he
SL almost universalappiobation of the medical pru
fession of Great Britain, comprises an entirely new ap
plication of Galvanism, as a remedial agent, by means of
which the ordinary Galvanic Ba terics. Electric and .Mag
netic .Machines, <fec., areemirely dispensed "with, and the
mysterious powers of Galvanism applied without any
of the objections which are inseparable from the gene
ral mode now in use. The, strong doses, ami at irregu
lar intervals, in which Galvanism is applied by the Ma
chines, has been pronounced, afer a fair and impartial
trial, to be DKcinEiu.v injurious, and it was to remedy
tins radical defect, that this new application was pro
jected, which after unceasing toil and perseverance, has
been brought to its present state of perfection. The
Galvanic Rings answer all the purposes of the most
expensive Machines, and in m my other respects arc
more safe and certain in accomplishing the desired
effect.
The Galvanic Rings, used in connection with the
| Magnetic Fluid, a e confidently recommended in all
n SORDERS WHICH ARISE FROM AN ENFEEBLED OR UN
HEATHY STATE OF THE NERVOUS OR VITAL SYSTEM, and
complaints are among the most painful ami uni
versal to which we are subject. They arise, without ex
ception, from one simple cause—a derangement of the
Nervous system —and it was in the.se cases that other
“remedies” having so often failed, a new agent was
greatly needed, wiiich it is confidently believed, has
been found in the proper and judicious application of
Galvanism.
The Galvanic Rings have been used w ith entire suc
cess in all cases of Rheum atism, acute or chronic, ap
plyingtolhe head, face or limbs Gout, Tic-DoloreuX
Toothache, Bronchitis, Vertigo, Nervous ok Bick
II badache, Indigestion. Paralyses. Pslsy, Epilepsy,
Fits, (’ramp, Palpitation of the Heart, Appoplexv,
Stiffness • f Joints. Spinal Complaints, Kvmbago,
Neuralgia, Nervous Tremors, Dizziness of the
Head, Pains in the Chest andSidf,. General Debili
ty, Deficiency of Nervous and Physical Energy,
and all Nervous Disorders. In cases of confirmed
Dyspepsia, which is simply a nervous derangement of
the digestive organs, they have been found equally suc
cessful. Their extraordinary effects upon the system
must he witnessed to be believed, and as a certain pre
ventive for the preceding complaints they are equal
ly recommended. The Rings are of different prices,
being made of all sizes, and of various oi namental pat
terns, and can be worn by the mostdelicute female without
the slightest inconvenience. In fact the sensation is
rather agreeable than otharwisc.
The Galvanic Belts, Bracelets, Bands,
Garters, Necklaces, Ac.
In some cases of a very severe character and of long
standing, the power as applied by the Galvanic Rings
is not sufficient to arrest the progress of disease and ulti
mately to restore health. The improved modification in
the Galvan c Belts, Bracelets, &c., entirely reme
* dies this objection ; any degree of power that is required
! can readily be obtained, and uo complaint which the
; mysterious agent of Galvanism can effect will fail to he
permanently relieved. These articles are adapted to the
waist, arms, wrists, limbs, uncles or any part of jhe hotly
with perfect convenience. The Galvanic Necklaces
arc used with greater benefit in cases of Bronchitis or
affections of the throat generally ; also in eases of Ner
vous Deafness; :ftid with almost uniform success as a
preventive for Apoplexy, Epileptic Firs, and similar
complaints.
Christie's Magnetic Fluid.
Fs issued in connection with the Galvanic Rings, and
all their modifications. This composition has been pro
nounced by the French Chemists to be one of the most
extraordinary discoveries of modern science. It is.he
t lieved to possess a remarkable power of rendf.riqg the
Nerves seusmtve to Galvaiuc actioii, by these means
causing a circulation of the niff neuce at the seat of dis
ease, and thus giving rapid and permanent relief. No
other composition in chemistry is known to produce the
same effect or to impart a similar property to the nervous
i system by meansof an outward local application. The
Maguktic Fluid contains nothing capuhlg/of the slight
! e»t injury, its application is agreeable, and it is harmless
in its actioii as it is benefit ial in its result. Full explana
tions and directions accompany it. The combined in
i volitions are in every way perfectly harmless; they' are
i at prices within reach of all, and the discoverer only re
-1 quests a fair trial, as a test of their surprising efficacy
: and permanent benefit.
Christie’s Galvanic Strengthening Pla««-
ters.
These articles form another valuable application of
the mysterious influence of Galvanism. They are an
important adjunct to the genuine Galvaiuc Rtn/is and
their modifications, acting upon the same principle, but
having this advantage of more local application. They
are confidently recommended as a valuable addition in
the speedy cure of Rheumatism, acute or chronic ; in
all nervous complaint*,and as a positive remedy iu ca.se*
j of Pyju gild Wgak.gess j j .the Chest .or Back, Pain in the
Side, in Asthmatic Affections, and ip Weakness or Op
j pression of the Pulmonary Organs. In B(final Goni
i plaints; their effects are of the most decided character,
: apd X hey hgyc often been used with complete success,
flicv are at so of tho greatest advantage in Pains and
Weakness of the fiiea.-i, upd are highly recommended
j tor ipany of those complaints to which lernales are
; especially liable. As an effectual means for strengthen
mg the system when debilitated with disease or other
causes ; y*a certain aid in Constitutional Weakness, as a
Preventive for Colds and iu aJI affections of the Chest
I generally the Galvanic Strengthening Piaster will bn
I found of greataod permsnentadvantage. In a few words,
it embraces all the virtues of the best tonic preparation
with the important addition of the Galvanic infflience,
: which is neither impaired or exhausted, vvlulethe action

DR. TAYLOR’S BALSAM OF LIVERWORT.
375 Bovvf.ry, N. V.
MUST those he who have Pulmonary Consumption,
or any affection of the Lungs. Liver or Chest,
alter reading ihc following letter, just received from a
nn sc respectable inhabitant of Westchester County
New York.
Tarrytown, Aug. ff, 1 5 44.
I Dear Doctor—l' is difficult to find words to express the
gratitude which I feel towards you for the iiuercst you
have taken to relieve me in my distress. In the year
I contracted a heavy cold, which finally settled on
my lungs; in a few months after I commenced coughing
and raising offensive matter, which smelt very bad.
Having heard that Sherman’s Lozenges were good for a
cough 1 tried a few boxes of them, but they had not the
least effect on me. I then called in the best physician iu the
place, whoa tended me a few mouths, but wilhout sue
cess; I then saw an advertisement in one of the city
papers of Wistar’s Balsam of Wild Cherry, ot which 1
purchased three bottles, at thecorner of Fulton and Nas
sau streets, but i could not perceive ti e least beneficial
effect from it, on the contrary I think it was a great in
jury to me. Shortly after using it I commenced raising
blood in large quantities ; I was taken dow n sick and
confined to the house for three months, during which
time I lost my appetite and fell away very fast; 1 was
then induced to consult Dr. Curtis of New Vork. (one of
the best physicians in the city,) hut he could do me no
good. I again become worse, and was confined to the
I house all last winter and spring, and 1 gave up all hope of
ever getting any better, as 1 again raised blood and my
cough was very severe, together with a pain in my breast
and under the shoulder blade. M y friends now gave up
all hopeof my recovering, and thought every day was
the last. A bout this time I heard of your BALSAM OF
I lIVERWORT being good for consumption, but 1 was
like many others, and was fearful that it might be a regu
f lar humbug; 1 however finally consented to try it, as 1
thought it could make me no worse. My brother th< n
i purchased a bottle of it at 375 Bowery, N. 1.. and I com
menced taking it, and by the time 1 had used one bottle
; full 1 could sleep all night, and in the morning I had an
appetite for ray breakfast. 1 still keep on taking it and
find great benefit from it—the pain in my hr east isentire
ly gone, and 1 raise no more blood. Within the lust l\Vo
mouths [ have gamed in weight six pounds and much in
i strong h. I would therefore advise all who have any
aft’ec ion of the Lungs or Liver to try the Genuine Dr.
j Taylor’s Balsam of Liverwort, for I truly believe it to
bethe best remedy in existence for diseases of the Lungs
or Liver. Should any one doubt theabove statement re
lative to your valuable medicine, let ii.m call on me, and
1 will convince them of its virtue.
Yours respectfully, DE REVERE.
Beware of counterfeits, the only genuine has an engra
ved label (over the outside wrapper of each bottle) with

ji* •
THIS Machine is now offered to the public as
the most durable, the most convenient. the
I must powerful, (ami all tilings considered,) tiie
cheajiest and best Cotton Packing Tress iu the
j World.
This Pres* lias now been in use four years—sev
eral hundreds of them are. in successful operation.
Iu one that has been in use about two y ears,
1 there has been packed, over jive thousand Bales ot
Cotton ! and it works better (if possible) now, than
when first put up. Not one dollar has been ex
: pended ou it iu repairs—nor ever will be, if well
used.
All those persons who have tried them, have de
! cided to keep them their life thne. and then band
them down to their children to the third and fourth
j generations. Not an individual that has seen them
in use but what pronounces them 'fust the thing. ’’
I challenge the world to disprove these state
ments. Now, can as much be said of any other
Machine ever made? And yet Igo still further;
w hen required, 1 will pul up the. Press ou the plan
tation, and if it does not answer the purpose, will
make no charge.
And again—being well aware that the planters
; have but little confidence in new things, from the
fact that nine mu of ten are ” Yankee tricks,’ * in
tended to deceive, I have been to the trouble and
expense to fit up an establishment in Macon, with
' several Presses, for re-packing Round Bales into
•Square, and to show' to the planters that the Press is
just the thing they want. These Presses.are now,
and will be kept in daily use, and open to inspec
tion. Now, therefore, to induce the planter to
make an examination, 1 give below a certificate,
j signed by a few of the many who have very kindly
offered me their names, since 1 started my Presses
in Macon.
To prevent bad work, and all sort of meddling
or tampering with the Machines, 1 hav« them ail
made under my own direction,}' nd sold at one price.
All those wishing to give them a trial, will please
give their names to my Agents who call upon them,
! or send them to the Commission House, where
they wish to go for (lie Machine, in order that the
i Agent may he prepared for them, otherwise they
j may be delayed in getting a Machine when it is

LIVER AND DYSPEPTIC
iikdhim:.
IN offering this valuable medicine to the people
of Georgia, for the relief and cure of many dis
eases incident to a southern climate, 1 do not claim
for it infalibility; neither do I say it will cure all
diseases. But in Chronic Liver Affections and Dya :
pepsia, 1 can confidently advise and recommend its
use, from my personal observation and use of the.
I article in ray own practice. T his article is favora
bly received wherever it has been used. lam al

John Warren of Columbus,Mr. McKaffee of Cobb,
Mr, Asbnry Hull of Athens, Mr. William D. Ter
i reil of Putnam, Rev. John E. Dawson of Lagrange;
} to which a great number of names might be added,
i who bear their testimony to its value. Dr. Henry
Branham has used this medicine in his ow n case;
and lias prescribed it to many others, gives it as his
opinion, that it is one of the safest and most valua
ble medicines that can he used in imperfect diges
tion. liver complaints, consiiparicn and irregular
state of the bowels. Jl is useful in bilious com
plaints, to persons recovering from bilious fevers,
and in sick or nervous head-ache. To pregnant
women, who are subject to cosliveness, this medi
cine is well suited. In regulating the state of the
stomach and bowels, and promoting digestion, it is
particularly useful.
1 could append a long list of< ertificate?. but for
bear, prefering to rely on the virtues of the medi
I cine, to sustain itself. The medicine is agentlo
and certain cathartic, tonic and sudorific.
