CHRISTIE’S GALVANIC RING S | AND MAGNETIC FLUID. r All IIS remarkable invention, which has received the 1 JL almost universal approbation of the medical pro fession of Great Britain, comprises an entirely new ap plication of Galvanism, as a remedial agent, by means of i w bie.h the ordinary Galvanic B«t. teries, Electric and Mag j nctic .Machines, &<•., are entirely dispensed with, and tlie mysterious powers of Galvanism applied without any 1 of the objections which are iaseperablc from the gene ral mode now in use. The strong doses, and at irregu lar intervals, in which Galvanism is applied by the Ma ; chines, has been pronounced, afer a fair and impartial trial, to be decidedly injurious, and if was to remedy this radical defect, that this new application was pro jected, which after unceasing toil and perseverance, has ■ been brought to its present state of pertection. The Galvanic Rings answer all the purposes of the most , expensive Machines, and in many other respects are more sake and certain in accomplishing the desired effect. The Galvanic Rings, used in connection with the Magnetic Fluid, a e confidently recommended in all j D SORDERS WHICH ARISE FROM AN ENFEEBLED OR UN HEATHY STATE OF THE NERVOUS OR VITAL SYSTEM,and | these complaints are among the most painful and uni- j : versa! to which we are subject. They arise, without eg -1 ception, from one simple cause—a derangement of the j ' Nervous system—and it was in these eases that other “remedies” having so often failed, a new agent was greatly needed, which it is confidently believed, lias I been found in the proper and judicious application of j Galvanism. The Galvanic Rings have been used with entire sue- I cess in all cases of Rheumatism, acute or chronic, ap plying to the head, face or limbs : Gout, Tic-Doi-qruux Toothache, Bronchitis, Vertigo, Nervous or SSick Headache, Indigestion. In cases of continued j Dyspepsia, which is “imply a nervous derangement us , ! the digestive organs, they have been found equally sue- [ cessfni. Their extraordinary effects upon the system must be witnessed to be believed, ami as a certain pre i ventivf, for the preceding complaints they are equal ly recommended. The Kings are of different prices, being made of all sizes, and of various ornamental pat terns, and can he worn by the mostdelicate female without ; the slightest inconvenience. In fact the sensation is rather agreeable than othorw (se. The Galvanic Belts, Bracelets, Etc,ids, Garters, Necklaces, Arc. In some cases of a very severe character ami of long standing, the power as applied by the Galvanic Rings is not sufficient to arrest the progress of disease ami ulti mately to restore health. The iniprot ed modification in the Galvan c Belts, Bracri ets, &e., entirely remc j dies turs objection ; any degree of power that is required i can readily be obtained, and no complaint which the 1 my sterious agent of Galvanism can effect will fail lobe j permanently relieved. These articles are adapted to the I waist, arms, wrists, limbs, ancles or any part of ihe body 1 with perfect convenience. The Galvanic Necklaces j arc used with greater benefit in cases of Bronchitis or affections of rho fUroat generally ; also in eases of Ner -1 vnus Deafness; and with almost uniform success as a preventive for Apoplexy, Epileptic Fits, aud similar complaints. MUST those be who have Pulmonary Consumption, or any affection of the i.niigs. Liver or Chest, after reading ilic follow ing letter, just received from a in st respectable inhabitant of Westchester County New York. Tarrytown, Aug. 9, 1844. i Dear Doctor—lt is difficult to find words to express the gratitude which I feel towards you for the interest you have taken to relieve me in my distress. In the year 1842 I contracted tt heavy cold, which finally' settled on my lungs; in a few months after 1 commenced coughing and raising offensive matter, which smelt very bad. Having heard that Sherman’s Lozenges were good for a cough I tried a few boxes of them, but they had not ;!,v# least effect on me. I then called in the best physician in the place, who a tended me a few months, tint without sue 1 cess; I then saw an advertisement in one of the city papers ol* Wistar’s Balsam of Wild Cherry, of which 1 i purchased three bottles, at tbecorner of Fulton and Nas say streets, but 1 coaid U'»t perceive U e least beneficial ! effect from it, on the contrary I think it was a great in jury to me. Shortly alter using it I commenced raising | blood in large quantities; I was taken down wick and | confined to the liou.-e for three months, during which ! lintel lost my appetiie and fell away very fast; 1 was then induced to consult Dr. Curtis of New York, (one of | the best physicians in the city,) but he could do iqo n*. good. I again become worse, and was confined to the bouse all last winter and spring, aud I gave up all hope of ever getting any better, aw I again raised blood and my cough was very severe together with a pain in my breast and under the shoulder blade. My friends now gave up all hope of my recovering, and f bought every day Was tbe last. About this time I heard of your BALSAM OF i I.IVERWORT being good for consumption• but i was like many others, and was fearful that it might be a regu lar humbug; 1 however finally consented to try it, as I thought it could make me no worse. My brother th n I purchased a bottle of it at 375 Bowery, N. V.. and I com menced taking it. and by the time I bad used one bottle full I could sleep all night, and in the morning Iliad an appetite lor my breakfast. I still keep on taking it and find great benefit from il—the pain in my breast is entire- j ly gone, and I raise no more blood. Within the last two j mouths I have gained in weight six pounds and much in j strong b. I would therefore advise all who huvo any • a flee ion of the Lungs or Liver to try the Genuine Dr. Taylor’s Balsam of Liverwort, for 1 truly believe it to bethe best remedy in existence for diseases of the Lungs or Liver. Till E undersigned has been, for mo nil)* past, engaged, tinder the direction of His Excel lency. Governor Craw ford, in compiling a Map of the State of Georgia, on a scale of six miles to the. inch. 'Lite undertaking is now nearly completed, and he flatters himself he will receive (lie fav o#-, able patronage of Ids fellow-citizens— sufficient, at least, to have it published and placed in a durable form. That a revised delineation is called for, of our extensive territory, independently of \yhat e\isy, in the labors of Svoroks and Gkk-rnk, will ma be questioned. Tlie accumulation and possession, since their times, of a vast body of land designated then as wilderness, or the temporary domain ofthe. Indian tribes, with natural object* well worthy habitation and a name,” hav i been converted into, organised counties, presenting a dense population, flourishing villages, and extensive public and pri- I vale improvements. The Map to be published (so soon as a sufficient number of subscribers will warrant,) is five feet by four feel and eight inches; and is dt signed to. exhibit as well as perpetuate lie* present coinbtioU ofthe whole topography of the State. In addition to the ordinary metes and hounds—courses of ri vers. and ranges of mountains. Railroads, Cav»als ( County Sites. Post Offices. Factories, in fact all remarkable places of die past or present day. will be shown. The attention ofthe compiler has been particularly directed to a faithful drawing of coofi i ty lines and public roads, and to accomplish such important ends, he has not only consulted the ori? ginal surveys and the acts of various Legislatures, i but he deemed if the better plan to make rough sketches of each county and submit the same to j the Justices of the Inferior Court. Postmasters, and others equally competent and obliging, and to ask j for such additions and corrections as might lie ne cessary, and further to designate any and all ob jects of natural curiosity that might exist. Tw ( many, if not all of Ids requests, kind, prompt and i satisfactory replies were given. s*» that many gai inginaccuracies in the mans heretofore published have been corrected; and the compiler takes this ! occasion of returning his acknowledgments to those, who favored his objects, as rendering a service not merely to him-elf, but aiding most materially it| the thorough and correct deveiopemeni of the w hole, plan.
