Oct I 1 DR. CHRISTIE’S GALVANIC RINGS AND 31 AGNE T1 C F L UID . T AIDS remarkable invention, which has received the almost universal approbation of the medical pro fession of Great Britain, comprises an entirely new ap- ) plication of Galvanism, as a remedial agent, by means of ‘ w hich the ordinary Galvanic Ba tones; Electric and Mag netic Machines, «fcc., are entirely dispensed w ith, and the mysterious powers'of Galvanism applied without any of Ihe objections which -ire inseparable from the gene ral mode now in use. The strong doses, and at irregu lar intervals, in which Galvanism is applied by the Ma j chines, has been pronounced, af:cr a fair and impartial j trial.lobe drcidkiily injurious, and it was to remedy I this radical defect, that this new application was pro- I jeeted, which after unceasing toil and perseverance, has ; ; been brought to its present state of perlection. The 1 Galvanic Rings answer all the purposes of the most ! ; expensive Machines, and in many other respects are i more safe and certain in accomplishing the desired j j effect. The Galvanic Rings, used in connection with the Magnetic Fluid. a>e confidently recommended in all D SORDF,RS WHICH ARISE FROM AN ENFEEBLED OR UN HEATHY STATE OF THE NERVOUS OR VITAL SYSTEM, a lid these complaints arc among the most painful and uni versal to which we are subject. They arise, wilhoutex i ception, from one simple cause—a derangement of the j Nervous system—and it was in these cases that Oliver ■ “ remedies” having so often failed, a new agent was I greatly needed, which it is confidently believed, has ! been found in the proper and judicious application of Galvanism. The Galvanic Rings have been used with entiresne- | cess in all cases of K heuh attsm, acute or chronic, ap ph i ng to the head, face or limbs ; Gout, Tic-Doloreux Toothache, Bronchitis. Vertigo, Nervous or 4ick Headache, Indigestion. Paralyses, Palsy, Epilepsy, i Fits, Cramp, Palpitation of the Heart, Appdpi.exy, j Stiffness > f Joints, Spinal Complaints, Kumbago, Neuralgia, Nervous Tremors, Dizziness <>f the i Head, Pains in the Chest andSidr. Generai Debili- i ty, Deficiency of Nervous and Physical Energy, ! and all Nervous Disorders. In cases of confirmed | j Dyspepsia. which is simply a nervous derangement of i j the digestive organs, they have been found equaPy suc i cessful. Their extraordinary effects upon the system must be witnessed to lie believed, and as a certain pre , vewtivk for tbe preceding complaints they areequal !y recommended. The Kings are of different prices, being made of all sizes, and of various ornamental pat terns, and can be worn by tbe mostdelieale female without the slightest inconvenience. In lad the sensation is rather agreeable than otherwise. The Galvanic Ilelts, Bracelet*, Bands, Garters, Necklaces, »Ve. In some cases of a very severe character and of long j standing, the jHiweras applied by the Galvanic Bings I is not sntficienl to arrest the progress of disease and ulti- I mainly to restore health. Tim improved modification in ! | i!ie Galvan c Belts, Bracelets, &c., entirely rerac- i • dies libs objection ; any degree of power that is required , can readily he obtained, and no complaint which the ] , mysterious agent of Galvanism can effect will fail lobe permanently relieved. These articles are adapted to the i waist, arms, wrists, limbs, ancles or any part of ibe body , with perfect convenience. The, Galvanic Necklaces i ! are used with greater benefit in eases of Bronchitis or I affections of the throat generally ; also in cases of Ner . vous Deafness; and with almost uniform success us a 1 ■ preventive fur Apoplexy, Epileptic Fits, and similar ! complaints. Christie's 3la:rnctic Flnid. Is issued in connection with the Galvanic Bings, and all their modifications. This composition has been pro- i nounced by the French Chemists to be one of the most j extraordinary discoveries of modern science. It is be- \ lieved to jmissoss a remarkable power of renderiiig the j Nerves sehsitive to Galvaihc actiou, by these means ■ causing a circulation of the influence at tbe scat of dis- j ease, and thus giving rapid ami permanent relief. No oilier composition in chemistry is known to produce the same effector to impart a similar property to tbe nervous s_\ stem by means of an outward local application. The Magiietic Fluid contains nothing capablyGf the slight est injury, its application is agreeable, and itis harmless in its action as it is beneficial in its result. Full explana tions and directions accompany it. The combined in ventions are in every way perfectly harmless; they are at prices within reach of all, and the discoverer only re quests a fair trial, as a test of their surprising efficacy and permanent benefit. Christie’s Galvanic Strengthening IMas leis. These articles form another valuable application of the mysterious in Hoc nee of Galvanism. They are an important adjunct to the genuine Galvaihc Rinas and their modifications, acting" upon the same principle, but h iving this advantage of more local application. They are confidently recommended as a valuable addition in the speedy cure of Rheumatism, acute or chronic; in all nervous complaints, and as a positive remedy in cases of Pain and Weakness in the Chest or Rack, Pain in the Side, in Asthma-ic Affections, and in Weakness or Op pressioii of the Pulmonary Organs. In Spinal Com plaints; their effects arc of the most decided character, ,n<l they have often been used with complete success. They are also of the greatest advantage in Pains and Weakness of the Breast, and arc highly recommended for many of those complaints to which females are especially liable. As an effectual means for Strengthen ing the system when debilitated with disease or other causes; as a certain aid in Constitutional Weakness, as a Preventive for Colds and in all affections of the Chest generally the Galvanic Strengtt euing Plaster will be found of great and pennaneuladvantage. Ina few words, it embraces all the virtues of the best tonic preparation with the important addition of the Galvanic influence, w Inch is licit her impaired or exhausted, while the action continues. These articles will be found entirely free from those objections w hich are a consta tsource of com plaint w ith the ordinary Plasters in common use, JTTTIic "real celebrity ami success of t hese articles, have caused them *obti counterfeited by unprincipled persons. MUST those be who have Pulmonary Consumption, j or any affection of the Lungs. Liver or Chest, after reading the following letter, just received from a un-si respectable inhabitant of Westchester County New Vo; k. Tarrytown, Aug. 9, 1 J 44. Dear Doctor—lt is difficult to find words to express the gratitude which I feel towards you for the interest you i have t.ik'n to relieve me in my distress. In the year | 1342 1 contracted a heavy cold, which finally settled on ! my lungs; in a few months after 1 commenced coughing j and raising offensive matter, which smelt very bail. Having heard that She; man’s Lozenges were good for a cough 1 tried a few boxes of them, but they had not ilie least effect on me. I then called in the beat physician in llie place, whoa tended me a few months, but without sue < ccss; 1 then saw an advertisement in one of the city ! papers of Wistar’s Balsam of Wild Cherry, of which I purchased three bottles, at thecorner of Fulton and Nas- | sau streets, but i could not perceive U e least beneficial j effect from it, on tbe contrary 1 think it was a great in | jury to me. Shortly after using it I commenced raising 1 blood in large quantities; 1 was taken down sick and 1 confined to the hou.-e for three months, during which ! time I lost my appetite and fell away very fast; 1 was ’ then induced to consult Dr. Curtisof New York, (one of i the best physicians in the city,) but he could do me no ' good. 1 again become vtorsc, and was confined to the 1 house all last winter and spring, and I gave up all hope of ever getting any better, as I again raised blood and my 1 cough was very severe, together with a pain in my hrea.-t and under the shoulder blade. My friends now gave up I all liopeof my recovering, and thought every day was the last. About this lime I heard of your BALSAM OF i LIVERWORT being good for consumption, but I was 1 like many others, and was fearful that it might be a regu ! lar humbug; I however finally consented to try it, as I I thought it could make me no worse. My brother tin n p-rchased a bottle of it at 373 Bowery, N. V.. and I com menced taking it, and by the time 1 bad used one bottle i fail I could sleep all night, and in the morning 1 hail an appetite for my breakfast. I still keep on taking it and | find great benefit from it—the pain in my breast isentire ly gone, and I raise no more blood. Within the last two months I have gained in weight six pounds and much in strong It. I would therefore advise all who have any affec: ion of the Lungs or Liver to try r the Genuine D r . Taylor’s Balsam of L'verwort, for I truly believe it to bethe best remedy in existence for diseases of the Lungs : or Liver. Should any one doubt the above statement re ; lative to your valuable medicine, let U.ui call on me, and 1 1 will convince them of its virtue. Yours respectfully, DE REVERE. JOEL JBKANHAM’S LIVER AND DYSPEPTIC 32 CDS Cl ME IN offering this valuable medicine to the people of Georgia, for the relief and cure of many dis- , eases incident to a southern climate, I do not claim for it infalibility; neither do I say it will cure all diseases. Butin Chronic Liver Affections and Dys pepsia, I can confidently advise and recommend iLs j use. front my personal observation and use of tbe 1 i article in my own practice. This article is favora ! bly received wherever it has been used. lam al lowed to refer to Mr. George Heard of Troup, -Mr. John Warren of Columbus, Mr. Mr Ka flee of Cobb, Mr. Asbury Hull of Athens, Mr. William D. Ter rell of Putnam, Rev. John E. Dawson of Lagrange; to which a great number of names might be added, who bear their testimony to its value. Dr. Henry Branham has used ibis medicine in his own case, and has prescribed it to many others, gives it as his opinion, that it is one of the safest and most valua ble medicines that can be used in imperfect diges ; tion, liver complaints, constipation and irregular j slate of the bowels. It is useful in bilious com ■ plaints, to persons recovering from bilious fevers, | and in sick or nervous bead-ache. To pregnant women, who are subject to costive ness, this ntedi ! cine is well suited. In regulating the state of the stomach and bowels, and promoting digestion, it is particularly useful. I could append a long list of cert ificates, but for bear, prefering to rely on tbe virtues of the medi cine to sustain itself. The medicine is a gentle 1 and certain cathartic, tonic am) sudorific. Governor Crawford, in compiling a Map of the Slate of Georgia, on a scale of six miles to the inch. The undertaking ts now nearly completed, j and he flatters himself be will receive the favor ! able patronage of Ids fellow-citizens— sufficient, at b ast, to have it published ami placed in a durable I form. That a revised delineation is called for, of our extensive, territory, independently of what exists | in the labors of Sturoes and Greene, will not he questioned. The accumulation and possession, since t heir times, of a vast body of land designated then as wilderness, or the temporary domain of the Indian tribes, with natural objects well worthy “a habitation and a name,” have been converted into organised counties, presenting a dense population, , flourishing villages, and extensive public and |»ri vale improvements. The Map to be published (so soon as a sufficient number of subscribers will warrant,} is five feet by four feel and eight inches; and is designed to exhibit as well as perpetuate the present condition ! of the whole topography of the Slate. In addition to the ordinary metes and bounds—courses of ri vers, and ranges of mountains. Railroads, Canals, Comity bites, Post Offices, Factories, in fad all ; remarkable places of the past or present day, will be shown. The attention of the compiler has been particularly directed to a faithful drawing of comi ty lines and public roads, and to accomplish such important ends, he has not only consulted the ori ginal surveys and the acts of various legislatures, but he deemed it the better plan to make rough sketches of each county and submit the same to the Justices of the Inferior Court, Postmasters, and 1 others equally competent and obliging, and to ask for such additions and corrections as might be lie* 1 cessary.and further to designate any and all .ob jects of natural curiosity that might exist. To ; many, if not all of his requests, kind, prompt and satisfactory replies were given ,s<» that many glar ing inaccuracies in the maps heretofore publisiied have been corrected; and the compiler takes this j occasion of returning his acknow ledcments to those who favored his objects, as rendering a service not merely to himself, but aiding most materially in the thorough and correct developementof the w hole plan. To his brother Engineers of the different Railroads, his thanks are due for the use of maps w hich enabled him not only to lay down the true courses of those important works, but likewise to make profiles exhibiting the elevation above the sea, of every station from the Atlantic to the Ten nessee river. The map will be embellished with views of the State Mouse and the Executive Man sion, and will be furnished. U> subscribers at their residences at ten dollars per copy, WM.G. BONNER, Civil Engineer. P. S—Subscription Lists may be found at the several Court Houses in the Slate. nov $7 CHAMPOO!
