A PLEASANT, safe anil elfe.ctual remedy for the destruction and expulsion of Worms, from the system Sold wholesale ami retail by iIAVTLAND, RIBLEY Sc CO. Oct 11 DR. CHRISTIE’S GALVANIC RINGS AND M A G N E T 1C F IIIID. THIS remarkable invention, which has received the almost universal approbation of the medical j»ro fession of Great Britain, comprises an entirely new ap plication of Galvanism, as a remedial agent, by means of which the ordinary Galvanic Batteries, Electric and -Mag netic Machines. A:c., are entirely dispensed with, and the mysterious powers of Galvanism applied w ithout ;my of the objections which are iuseperahle from the gene ral made now iu use. The strong doses, and at irregu lar intervals, in which Galvanism is applied by the Ma chines, has been pronounced, uferatuir and impartial trial, to be dkcidedly injurious, and it was to remedy this radical defect, that this new application was pro jected, which after unceasing toil and perseverance, has been brought to its present state of perfection. The Galvanic Rinos answer all lire purposes of the most expensive .Machines, and in many other resjiecls are more sake and CERTAIN in accomplishing the desired effect. The Galvanic Rings, used in connection widi the Magnetic Fluid, a e confidently recommended in all D SOKDKKS WHICH AKISE KROM AN ENFEEBLED OK UN HEATHY STATE OF THE NERVOUS OR VITAL SYSTEM, and these complaints are among the most painful and uni versal to which we arc subject. They arise, w ithout ex ception, from one simple cause—a derangement of the Nervous sy.'tem—and it was in these cases that other “ remedies” having so often failed, u new agent was greatly needed, which it is confidently believed, has been found in the proper and judicious application of Galvanism, The Galvanic Rings have been used w it h entire suc cess in nil cases of Rheumatism, acute or chronic, ap {living to the head, face or limbs; Gout, Tic-Doloreux Toothache, Bronchitis, Vertigo, Nervous or Sick Headache, Indigestion, Paralyses. Palsy, Epilepsy, Fits, Cramp, Palpitation of the Heart, Ai-poplexy, Stiffness of Joints, Spinal Complaints, Rumbago, Neuralgia, Nervous Tremors, Dizziness of the Head, Pains in the Chest and Side. General Debili ty, Deficiency of Nervous and Physical Energy, and all Nervous Disorders. In cases of confirmed Dyspepsia, which is simply a nervous derangement of the digestive organs, they have been found equally suc cessful, extraordinary effects upon the system must be witnessed to be believed, and as a certain pre ventive for the preceding complaints they areeqtial i ly recommended. The Rings are of different prices, being unde of all sizes, and of various ornamental pat terns, and cun he worn by the mostdelicatc female without the slightest inconvenience. In fact the sensation is rather agreeable than otliorwise. The Galvanic Belts, Bracelets, Bands, Garters, Necklaces, «skc. *ln someci ses of a very severe character and of long standing, tl e power as applied by the Galvanic Rings is not sufficient to arrest the progress of disease and ulti mately to restore hea Ith. The iniproved modification in .the Galvan c Belts, Bracelets, £tc„ entirely reme dies this objection ; any degree of powerthat is required can readily he obtained, and no complaint which tho I mysterious agent of Galvanism caw effect will fail lobe permanently relieved. These articles are adapted to the j waist, arms, wrists, limbs, ancles or any purled’ ills* body with perfect convenience. The Galvanic Necklaces are used with greater benefit in cases of Bronchitis or affections of the throat generally ; also in cases of Ner vous Deafness; andwitli almost uniform success as a preventive for Apoplexy, Epileptic Fits, and similar complaints. Christie’s Magnetic Fluid. Is issued in connection with the Galvanic Rings, and all their modifications. This composition has been pro nounced by the French Chemists U* be one of the most extraordinary discoveries of modern science. It is be lieved to possess a remarkable power of renderibg the Nerves seositive toGalvaiiic actioii, by these means causing a circulation of the intluence at the seat of dis ease, and thus giving rapid and permanent relief. No other composition in chemistry is known to produce the same effector to impart a similar property to the nervous system by means of an outward local application. The xMagiietic Fluid contains notfaingcapablc of tho slight est injury, its application is agreeable, and it is harmless in its action as it is beneieial in its result. Full explana tions aud directions accompany it. The combined in ventions are in every way perfectly harmless; they are at prices within reach of all, and the discoverer only re quests a fair trial, as a lest of their surprising efficacy and permanent benefit. Christie’s Galvauic Strengthening Plas ters. These articles form another valuable application of the mysterious influence of Galvanism. They arc an important adjunct to the genuine Galvauic Rincsaud their modifications, acting u|K>n the same principle, but having this advantage of more local applicaiiou. They are confidently recommended as a valuable addition in the, speedy cure of Rheumatism, acute or chronic ; in all nervous complaints, and as a positive remedy in cases of Pain ami Weakness iu the Chest or Buck, Pain in tho Hide, in Asthmatic Affections, and iu Weakness or Op pression of the Pulmonary Organs. In Spinal Com plaints; their effects are of the most decided character, and they have often been used with complete success. They are also of the greatest advantage in Pains and Weakness of the Breast, and arc highly recommended for many of those complaints to which females are especially liable. As an effectual means for Strengthen ing the system when debilitated with disease or other causes ; as a certain aid iu Constitutional Weakness, as a Preventive for Colds and in all affections ot the Chesi generally the Qalyailic Strengthening Plaster wili be found of great and pcrinaHenladvantage. Ina few words, it embraces all the virtues of the best tonic preparation with the important addition of the Galvnni - influence, which is neither impaired or exhausted, wluirthe action continues. These articles w ill be found entirely free from those objections which art u constant sourceof com plaint with the ordinary Piasters in common use. JZFThe great celebrity and success of these articles, have caused them to he counterfeited by unprincipled persons. To provide against imposition, LH. Liver or Chest, after reading ihe following letter, just received from u most respectable inhabitant of Westchester County j New York. T.vrrytown,*Aug. 9, 1844. j Rear Doctor—l? is difficult to find words to express the ! gratitude which 1 feel towards you for the interest you i have taken to relieve me in my distress. In the year j 1842 I contracted a heavy cold, which finally settled on j my lungs; iu.a few months after 1 commenced coughing ' and raising offensive matter, which smelt very had. 1 Having heard that Sherman’s Lozenges were good for a I cough I tea'll a few boxes of them, but they had not the least effect on me. I then called in the best physician in the {daci, who a; tended me a few months, hut without sue cess; 1 then saw an advertisement in one of tho city papers of Wistar’s BaMim of Wild Cherry, of w hich i purchased three bottles, at the corner of Fulton and Nas sau streets, but 1 could not perceive ti e least beneficial effect from it, on the contrary I think it was a great in jury to me. Shortly after using it 1 commenced raising blood in large quantities ; Ifvvas taken down sick and confined to the hou.-c lb* three months, during which time 1 lost miL annetiie and foil away very fast; 1 was then induced toVunsult Dr. Curtis of New York, (one of the best physicians in the city,) but he could do me no good. 1 again become w orse, and was confined to the | house all last winter and spring, aud I gave up all hope of ever getting any better, as I again raised blood and my cough was very severe, together with a pain in my breast and under the shoulder blade. My friends now gave up all hope of my recovering, and thought every day was the last. About this time 1 heard of your BALSAM OF LIVERWORT being good for consumption, hut I was \ like many others, and was fearful that it might lie a regu- | iar humbug; 1 however finally consented to try it, as I thought it could make me no worse. My brother tin n purchased a bottle of it at 375 Bowery, N. V.. and 1 com menced taking it, and by the time 1 had used one bottle full I could sleep all night, and in the morning Iliad an | appetite for my breakfast. 1 still keep on taking it and find great benefit from it—the pain iu my breast is entire ly gone, and I raise no more blood. Within the last two months I have gained in weight six pounds and in itch in strong h. I would therefore advise all who have any affec ion of the Lungs or Liver to try the Genuine Di. Taylor’s Balsam of Liverwort, for I truly believe it to bethe best remedy in existence for diseases of the Lungs : or Liver. IN offering this valuable medicine to the people of Georgia, for the relief and cure of many dis ; eases incident to a southern climate, 1 do not claim ; for it infalibility; neither do 1 say »t will cure all I diseases. Hut. in Chronic Liver Affections and Dys i pepsia, 1 can confidently ad vise and recommend its use, from my personal observation and use of the article in rayown practice. This article is favora bly received wherever it has been used, iam al lowed to refer to Mr. George Heard of Troup, Mr. John Warren of Columbus,Mr. Mclvaffee of Cobb, Mr. Asbnry Hull of Athens, Mr. William H. Ter rell of Putnam, Rev. John E. Dawson of Lagrange; to which a great number of namesmight be added, who bear their testimony toils value. Dr. Henry Branham has used this medicine in his own case, and has prescribed it to many others, gives it as bis opinion, that it is one of the safestand most valua ble medicines that can be used in imperfect diges tion, liver complaints, constipation and irregular state of the bowels. It is useful in bilious com plaints, to persons recovering from bilious fevers, and in sick or nervous head-ache. To pregnant women, who are subject to costiveness, this medi cine is well suited. In regulating the state of iHe stomach and bowels, and promoting digestion, it is particularly useful, 1 could append a long list of certificates, but for bear, prefering to rely on the virtues of the medi cine to sustain itself. The medicine is a gentle and certain cathartic, tonicand sudorific. JOEL BRANHAM, Ealonlon,Ga. Price SI —Forsale by raarchli A. G. WILLIS. TOBACCO AND SEGARS OF THE CHOICEST BRANDS. TMIE undersigned has been, for months past, engaged, under the direction of His Excel lency. Governor Crawford, in compiling a Map of the Slate of Georgia, on a scale of six miles to the 1 inch. The undertaking is now nearly completed, and he flatters himself he will receive the favor - I able patronage oHiis fellow-citizens—sufficient, at least, to have it published and placed in a durable : form. That a revised delineation is called for, of onr j extensive territory, indejiendently of what exists ( in the labors of Sturgks and Greene, will not ' be questioned. The accumulation and possession, since their times, of a vast body of land designated then as wilderness, or the temporary domain of the Indian tribes, with natural objects well worthy “a habitation and a name.” hav * been converted into i organised counties, presenting a dense population, flourishing villages, and extensive public and pri i vale improvements. The Map to be published (so soon as a sufficient number of subscribers will warrant,) is five feet by four feet and eight inches; and is designed to ] exhibit as well as perpetuate the present condition i ofthe whole topography of the State. In addition 1 to the ordinary metes ami bounds—courses of ri -1 vers, and ranges of mountains. Railroads, Canals, County biles. Rost Offices, Factories, in fact all . ' remarkable places of the past or present day, will be shown. The Attention of the compiler has been particularly directed to a faithful drawing of coun ty lines and public roads, and to accomplish such im|*ortant ends, he has not only consulted the ori ginal surveys and the acts of various Legislatures, hut he deemed it the better plan to make rough sketches of each countv and submit the same to the Justices of the Inferior Court, Postmasters, ami others equally competent and obliging, and to ask for such additions and corrections as might be ne cessary, and further to designate any and all oh-'' jects of natural curiosity that might exist. Tt*. many, if not all of Ids requests, kind, prompt amt satisfactory replies were given,so that many glar ing inaccuracies in the maps heretofore published have been corrected; and the compiler takes this occasion of returning his acknowledgments to those w ho favored his objects, as rendering a service not merely to himself, but aiding most materially ia the thorough and correct dev elopement of the whole plan. To his brother Engineers of the different Railroads, Ids thanks are due for the use of maps which enabled him not only to lay down the true courses of those important works, but likewise to make profiles exhibiting the elevation above the sea. of every station from the Atlantic to the Ten nessee river. The map will bo embellished with views of the State House and the Executive Man sion. and w ill be furnished to subscribers at their residences at ten dollars tier copy. WM. G. BONNER, Civil Engineer. P. S—Subscription Lists may he found at the several Court Houses in the State. pov 27 CIIAMPOO! For Cleansing and Beautifying the Hair.
