Sold wholesale and retail by HAVILAND, RISLEY &. CO. Oct 11 DR. CHRISTIE’S GALVANIC RINGS AND MAGNETIC FLUID. - TEN HIS remarkable invention, which has received the i I ■_ almost universal approbation of the medical pro , session of Great Britain, comprises ail entirely new op- j | plication of Galvanism, as a remedial agent, by means of j | which the ordinary Galvanic Baitones, Electric aud Mag : netic Machines,&c., are eoiirely dispensed with, and the mysterious powers of Galvanism applied without any of the objections which are insuperable from the gene- | ral mode now in use. The strong doses, and at irregu- I lar intervals, in which Galvanism is applied by the Ma- 1 chines, has been pronounced, as or a fair and impailial | trial, lobe decjdiidly injurious, and it was to remedy j this radical defect, that this new- application was pro -1 jecled, which after unceasing toil and perseverance, has I been brought to its present state of perlection. The Galvanic Rings answer all the purposes of the most expensive .M.ickiuas. aud—tu auiU.V Oliver respects are more sake aud certain iu accomplishing the desired effect. ; The Galvanic Rings, used in connection wdth the Magnetic Fluid a e confidently recommended in all D SORDKRS WHICH ARISE FROM AN ENFEEBLED OR UN HEATHY STATE OK THE NERVOUS OK VITAL SYSTEM, and these complaints are among the most painful and uni versal to which we are subject. They arise, without ex ception, from one simple cause—a derangement of the Nervous system—and it was in these cases that other “ remedies” having so often failed, a new' agent was greatly needed, which it is confidently believed, has been found iu the proper and judicious application of Galvanism. The Galvanic Rings have been used w ith entiresuc j cess in all cases of Rheum atism, acute or chronic, ap plying to the head, face or limbs : Gout, Tic-Doloreux I Toothache, Bronchitis, Vertigo, Nervous or Sic'* 1 ; Headache, Indigestion, Paralyses. Palsy, Epilepsy, 1 Fits, Cramp, Pvlpitation ok the Heart, Appoplexy, Stiffness r Joints. Spinal Complaints. Kumbago, Neuralgia, Nervous Tremors, Dizziness of the Head. Pains in the Chest and Side. General Debili ty, Deficiency of Nervous and Physical Energy, and all Nervous Disorders. In cases of confirmed Dyspepsia, which is simply a nervous derangement of i the digestive organs, they have been found equally suc i cessful. Their extraordinary effects upon the system j must he witnessed to be believed, and as a certain pke- ■ , ventive for the preceding complaints ihey are equal- j I ly recommended. The Rings are of different prices, I being made of all sizes, and of various ornamental pat terns, and can be worn by the most delicate female without i the slightest inconvenience. In fact the sensation is rather agreeable than otherwise. The Galvanic Belts, Bracelets, Bands, barters, Necklaces, Ac* In somectises of a very severe character and of long standing, tl e po ver as applied by the Galvanic Kings 1 is notuilicie.ii to arrest the progress of disease and ulli j mately to restore health. The improved modification in ■ • the Galvan c Belts, Brack lets, tec.,'entirely rente- i dies tills objection ; any degree of power that is required ! can readily be obtained, and no complaint which the ; mvst.eriou.- agent of Galvanism can effect will fail to he ' permanently relieved. These articles are adapted to the waist, arms, wrists, limbs, ancles or any part of ihe body j with perfect convenience. The Galvanic Necklaces I are used with greater benefit in cases of Bronchitis or affections of the throat generally; also in cases of Ner vous Deafness; and with almost uniform success as a preventive for Apoplexy, Epileptic Fits, and similar complain Is. Christie's Magnetic Fluid. Is issued in connection with the Galvanic Rings, and all their modifications. This composition has been pro nounced by tiie French Chemists to be one oftheinost extraordinary discoveries of modern science. It is .be lieved to posses* a remarkable power of renderiog the Nerves seiisitive to Galvahic actioii, by these means causing a circulation of the influence at the seat ot dis ease, and thus giving rapid and permanent relief. No other composition in chemistry is known to produce the same effector to impart a similar property to the nervous system by means of an outward local application. The Magoetic Fluid contains nothing capable of the slight est injury, its application is agreeable, and it is harmless iu its action as it is beneficial in its result. Full explana tions and directions accompany it. The combined in ventions are in every way perfectly harmless; they are at prices within reach of all, and the discoverer only re quests a fair trial, as a test of their surprising elficai y and permanent benefit. Christie’s Galvanic Strengthening Plas ters. These articles form another valuable application of the mysterious influence of Galvanism. They are an important adjunct to the genuine Galvaiiic Rtucsaud their modifications, upon the same principle, but having this advantage of more local application. They are confidently recommended as a valuable addition in the speedy cure of Rheumatism, acute or chronic ; in all nervous complaints, and as upositive remedy in cases of Pain and Weak..ess i, the Chest or Back, Pain in the Side, in Asthma ic Affections, and in Weakness or Op pression of the Pulmonary Organs. In Spinal Com plaints; their effects arc of the most decided character, and they have often been used w ith complete success. They are also of the greatest advantage in Pains and Weakness of the Breast, and are highly recommended for many of those complaints to which temales are especially liable. Asan effectual means for strengthen ing the system when debilitated with disease or other causes; as a cert »in aid in Constitutional Weakness, as a Preventive for Colds and in all affections of the Chest generally the Galvanic Strengthening Plaster wilt be found of great aud permanentad vantage. In a few words, it embraces all the virtues of the best tonic preparation with’the important addition of the Galvanic influence, which is neither impaired or exhausted, while the action continues. These articles will be found entirely free from those objections which are a roiistantsource of com plaint with the ordinary Plasters in common use. IITThe great celebrity and success of these articles, have caused them to he counterfeited by unprincipled persons. To provide against imposition, Dk. Oct 11 HOW AWFULLY CULPABLE, TO NEGLECT USING THE GENUINE DR. TAYLOR’S BALSAM OF LIVERWORT. 375 Bowerv, N. Y. UST those be who have Pulmonary Consumption, jLtJS or any affection of the Lungs. Liver or Chest, ; after reading ihe following letter, just received from a ; most respectable inhabitant of Westchester County j New 4o;k. Tarrytown, Aug. 9, 1814. Dear Doctor—lt is difficult to find words to express the gratitude which I feel towards you for the interest you have lak u to relieve me in my distress. Iu the year 18-12 1 contracted a heavy cold, which finally settled on my lungs; in a lew months after I commenced coughing and raising offensive matter, which smelt very had. Having heard that Sherman’s Lozenges were good for a *tfSsglfi med a few boxes of them, but they had not the least effVct on me. I then called in the bestphysiciau in the place, who a:tended me a few mouths, but without sue cess; I then saw an advertisement in oue of the city papers of Wistar’s Balsam of Wild Cherry, of which I pun.based three bottles, at the corner of Fulton snid Nas sau streets, but 1 could not perceive ti e least beneficial effect from it, ou the contrary 1 think it was a great in jury to me. Shortly after using it 1 commenced raising blood in large quantities; Ifwas taken dow n sick and confined to the house for three months, during which time I lost my appetiie and fell away very fast; I was then induced tocousult Dr. Curtisof New York, (one of the best physicians in the city,) but he could do me, no good. 1 again become worse, and was confined to the house all last winter and spring, and 1 gave up all hope of evergetting any better, as I again raised blood and my cough was very severe, together with a pain in my breast and under the shoulder blade. My friends now gave up all hope of my recovering, and thought every day was the last. About this time I heard of your BALAAM OF , I.IVERWORT being good for consumption , but I was like many others, and was fearful that it might be a regu lar humbug; I however finally eonsented to try it, as 1 thought it could make me no worse. My brother ttv n 1 purchased a bottle of it at 375 Bowery, N. Y.. and I torn* j tuenced taking it, and by the time I had used one bottle I full I could sleep all night, and in the morning Iliad an i appetite for my breakfast. Istill keep on taking il and I find great benefit from il—the pain in my breast isentire i ly gone, and I raise no more blood. Within the last two j months I have gained in weight six pounds and much iu streng h. I would therefore advise all who have any • affec ion of the Lungs or Liver to try the Genuine Dr. ’Taylor’s Balsam of Liverwort, for I truly believe it to * bethe best remedy iu existence for discuses of the Lungs ; or Liver. Should any one duubt the above statement re lativetoyour valuable medicine, let il.m call ou me, and 1 will convince them of its virtue. Yours respectfully, DE REVERE. Dr. Henry Branham has used this medicine in his own case, and has prescribed it to many others, gives it as his opinion, that il is one of the safest and most valua ble medicines that can be used in imperfect diges tion, liver complaints, constipation and irregular state of the bowels. It is useful in bilious com plaints, to persons recovering from bilious fevers, and in sick or nervous head-ache. To pregnant women, who are subject to costiveness, this medi cine is well suited. In regulating the state of the stomach and bowels, and promoting digestion, it is particularly useful. I could append a long list of certificates, but for bear, prefering to rely on the virtues of the medi- j cine to sustain itself. The medicine is a gentle and certain cathartic, tonic ami sudorific. THE undersigned has been, for month* past, engaged, under the direction of His Excel | lency, Governor Crawford, in compiling a Map of i the State of Georgia, on a scale of six miles to tin* | inch. The undertaking is now nearly completed, and he flatters himself he will receive the favor* able patronage of his fellow-citizens—sufficient, at least, to have it published and placed in a durable form. That a revised delineation is called for, of our extensive territory, independently of what exists ! in the labors of Sturges and GrEENE, Will nut be questioned. The accumulation and possession, since their limes, of a vast body of land designated then as wilderness, or the temporary domain of th« Indian tribes, with natural objects Well worthy “a habitation and a name,” have been converted into | organised counties, presenting a dense population, flourishing villages, and extensive public and pri vate improvements. The Map to be published (so soon as a sufficient number of subscribers will warrant,) is five feet by four feet and eight inches; and is designed to exhibit as well as perpetuate the present condition of the whole topography of the State. In addition | to the ordinary metes and hounds—“-courses of ri ) vers, and ranges of mountains. Railroads. Canals, ! County biles. Post Offices, Factories, in fact all remarkable places of ihe past or present day, will be shown. The attention of the compiler has been particularly directed to a faithful drawing of coun ; ty lines and public roads, and to accomplish such important ends, he has not only consulted the ori* ginal surveys and the acts of various Legislatures, I but he deemed it the better plan tn make rough sketches of each county and submit the same to I the Justices of the Inferior Court. Postmasters, and j others equally competent and obliging, and to ask j for such additions and corrections as might be tie* ; cessary.and further to designate any and all ob j jecls of natural curiosity that might exist. To i many, if not all of his requests, kind, prompt and : satisfactory replies were given ,so that many glar ing inaccuracies in the maps heretofore published have been corrected; and the compiler takes this occasion of returning his acknow ledgnients to those who favored his objects, as rendering a service not merely to himself, but aiding most materially in the thorough and correct developemenl of the whole plan. To his brother Engineers of the different Railroads, his thanks are cue for the use of maps which enabled him not only to lay down the true courses of those important works, but likewise to make profiles exhibiting the elevation above the sea, of every station from the Atlantic to the Ten nessee river. 'The map will be embellished with views of the State House, and the Executive Man sion. and will be furnished to subscribers at their residences at ten dollars per copy. WM. G. BONNER, Civil Engineer. P.
