FIN AKC l A L.—There has been more ac

during the past week than during the pre

auy immediate improvement in securities,
still there has been more inquiry, aud we
tbiuk \yc can safely predict that they have
touched their lowest point, and there are
very few being offered.

GFNBRAL BUSINESS—Has been fair
for th# past week, but the merchants, so j
far, are disappointed as to the amount or
trade, owing in a measure to the low price
ot cotton, and a very stringent money
market. Bacon continues in good <i-- j
maud, although prices are a Utile off.
Grain of a t kinds is dull, with the excep- j
tiou of a retail demand for seed. The mills j
are full of wheat, and low, if placed on the ■
