* ' Mslascholt Accident. —A young lady about
J 15 years of age, the daughter of a gentleman
m named Amos Burton, had her neck broken near
■j Laurens, Otsego co. N. Y., on the 11th inst., by
I being thrown from her horse. She was found by
1 the road side dead, but yet warm.

says the Boston Post, that there is a move in N.
York for an Asylum for disabled and decayed
printers. They are a worthy set of fellows, and
I should be protected when their usefulness is over.

following sermon to his congregation ! “Friend*,

Uncommonly Accommodating.—One of our
exchange papers lately presented a curious mis
take of the printer. The caption line "Through
by Day light,” which belonged to n steam boat
advertisement, was placed over that of Brand

i Western and Atlantic Rail Road, of the
State of Georgia.
In addition lo the fitly miles of this Hail Road
farmed out for construction'in April last, the Gra
ding and Masonry on another equal portion of llio
same work is now offered for contract. Sealed
Proposals therefor, will accordingly be received
j at the office ot the Board of Commissioners in Cass
ville, Cuss county, Georgia between the eighth and
thirteenth of October next, during which lime En
gineers will bo in attendance on the line of the
the road, lo point out tho localities, and explain by
the aid of plans and profiles of the route, the nature
and extent of the work to be done.
This portion of the route traverses a limestone
region, abounding in springs and streams of fine
water. Tho climate of the country is mild and sa
lubrious. The frosts of winter nra never so severe
I as to prevent easy anti successful grading, even in
the must inclement part of that season.
Tho lime (of the fulfilment of contracts will he
amply sufficient for this purpose. This, and all
other conditions relating thereto, will be exhibited
in printed proposals and articles of agreement, blank
I copies of which will be in readiness for inspection,
' filling and signature at the time and place above
. designated.
