having connected himself with Mr. A. Hattier in
the above business, is now ready for the reception of

Mr. Smith takes this opportunity to return his

that he answers their call by re-opening his academy

fjy I f will be paid to any person who will ap
prehend and deliver to the Sheriff or Jailor of Pulaski
county, a man by the name of MARION SIMS, who
has broke jail in Hartford, Pulaski county. Sims is
about forty or forty-live years of age, about six foot
or more high, is a man of dark complcction and dark
hair, in stature tolerably well proportioned for his
:age ; he has formerly been a citizen of North Caro
lina, and more recently from Lawrence county, in
this state; he has a family in Pulaski county, at
this time. Sims has a blemish in one eye which de
prives him of sight, has a fellon on it which looks
white; be has on examination large scars on his
hips, occasioned by lying on them in a long spell of
sickness. He was confined in jail for stealing a ne
gro, and for a more full description of Sims’ villainy

Standard of Union, which has been published for the
last six months over the signature of Bryant Johnson,

Wythe Wilmington and Raleigh Rail Road Com

find the route through Halifax, Garys, Petersburg,
Richmond, Washington and Baltimore, the most e\-

being by this line (through Petersburg, tor.) half a

The Petersburg Rail Road Company have always
locomotives, with coaches, tor. ready at Garys, to
proceed immediate! for the North upon the arrival

There is no uncertainty or detention on this route ;
all the lines north of the Roanoke run in regular con
